A young squirrel walked down the street with a sway to her step, tail high and tightly coiled dreds swaying to the tune of life. Slung over her shoulders would be a simple construction of netting made into a rough purse filled with flat shells. So, what would this particular Midori squirrel be doing so far from home? Advertising, of course! The beaches were empty and the souvenir stands had been shut down. Oh the horror! The economy of her little village was going down, and laziness was taking over! Without tourists to keep everyone going, everyone around had nearly convicted to laze about and ride waves for the rest of their lives. Maybe it was the fact that Zuberi was marked with the sign of the club that gave her a sliver of work ethic, but the sudden lull in the life of the Midori had forced the young female into action. Snapping back to reality, she noticed a generic card walking by and leapt into action. Putting on her most charming smile, she rose onto her haunches and dug out a seashell, practially shoving it into the man's hands. "Ello! Work got you tired, yes? Midori beach is for you, mon! Bring family, we love dem! Come don't be shy, visit us at Midori Beach!" She waved enthusiastically at his retreating back, fishing out another seashell for the next passer-by. Each shell had the words 'Midori Beach' painted on the shell; simple yet effective. ((It's not quite the grand entrance I had planned, but it's late and I'm still getting a feel for the character =) Oh, she's a 5, by the way. 5 of Clubs))

The handsome Selkie Lakes Feline/Raccoon hybrid walked casually down the street towards the beach. He had the day off so he was up for a change of pace so he was heading to the heart of Capital city to see what he couldn’t find. As he walked he noticed a very colorful, very pretty squirrel from what looked like Midori Beach. She was carrying a purse full of flat shells and calling out to everyone about visiting her realm. She was interesting enough to want to speak too and being attractive probably helped too. He walked up to her showing all his arrogance and spoke up. “ ’ello love, wut ya got there? Sea Shells? This is a unique operation you got yourself here. Tell me, wut is a pretty young thing like yourself doin’ peddlin’ on the street here? You should be livin comfortable and tending money in a nice shop, that there is the position for a delicate female. Workin’ gritty on the street, that be men’s work.” He grinned at her flashing his pearly whites. Normally two things would happen when he talked like this; either he would get slapped or the female would be flattered and go out with him. He was taking a risk with this girl but she seemed worth it.

Zuberi twirled around, a laugh in her throat and a sway to her squirrelly hips. She was an entertainer and entrepreneur through and through, and took his haughtiness with a grain of salt. Being approached was just a fact of life when one lived in an area where people vacationed. Anyone drunk or ambitious enough would often go after a Midori man or woman. Personally, the squirrel preferred her own kind so far, but she'd never let on to others of her disinterest. Ah, but this was a Selkie boy! She very much liked her neighbors in the respect that they shared a laid back attitude. Her smile grew a bit bigger, and she fished out a shell to give him. "Why leave it to a mon when dees' hips bring dem over?" She said in her heavy accent that would have been almost too strong had she not a sweet feminine voice to go with it. "But no, I be not peddlin' but advertising for Midori Beach! I'd be very content to stay next to me sparkling beaches if we had the tourists to keep things goin'." Haha, now she was playing the guilt card! Had she no shame?
In that moment she would give him a look over, looking to his rank as a reflex. She took note of his rank, and then realized she didn't have name to go with rank and region. In an afterthought, she introduced herself. "Oh, but here I be rattlin' on about me problems. I be, Zuberi, ma friend!"

As the squirrel turned around, Peder looked her up and down. He was right, she was attractive and the sway in her hips was quite nice too. When she turned around, she had fished a shell out of her bag and handed it to him.
"Why thank you, love and you do have a point, men would be more apt to come to a woman than a man. Midori Beach? I was just thinkin' I should take a vacation. Maybe I will have to make it my vacation spot." Peder saw her game but that was alright because he really had wanted to go there. She was looking him over and even that was alright because he was definitely checking her out.
"Zuberi is a beautiful name, if everyone in Midori Beach is as lovely as you, I should definitely like to visit it." He grinned at her. He figured with this one if he kept complimenting her, she might give in to him; of course he wasn't always right in his thinking....he just had a hunch.

Zuberi made a point to giggle, shyly covering her mouth with her paw as she did so. "I be able to guarantee that, mon. Gorgeous beaches.." She'd not deny the fact that she was pretty.. that would be getting off-track. No, she'd project the comment in the direction she wanted it to go, which was talk about Midori. She was quickly catching on to the fact that he was coming onto her, and she'd humor him. Now, this particular Midori squirrel was not a malicious or manipulative creature. In fact, she probably humored people in this manner because she felt it was her job. Everyone from her homeland would need to keep a friendly demeanor for tourists, and if she could project their friendliness and allure to those who wanted part of the surrealness of the perfect vacation place she would have no qualms about humoring them. After all, maybe she wanted to keep the ambiance of her homeland alive.
"Oh, I'm about to miss one.." She stopped to turn to another passerby, grabbing their attention and giving the 'Midori Speech' before giving them a shell. The person seemed mildly annoyed, but accepted it anyways. Waving enthusiastically at his retreating back, she looked back to the hybrid Selkie. She was surprised when he had not extended his own name.. for how narcissistic he was she thought he'd be blabbing about himself by now. She was tolerant and even amused by him though; it was hard for her to ever think badly of a person. She raised an almost suspicious brow, waggling a clawed finger at him (ah yes, the wonders of being a squirrel includes paws that are quite handlike) "So are ye goin' to be a mysterious stranger or are ya actually goin' to give me ya name?" Though her tone was mock-stern, it was hard for her to actually sound it with her amusing accent.

Oh my, this one is a shy one... Peder smirked to himself thinking of all the fun he could have with her. However, his humor came to a hault when Zuberi got distracted with a passerby and wandered off to talk to him. When she came back to talk his grin returned back to his face; it was cute that she tried to scold him.
"My name? Well though I like playing the role of handsome stranger, my name is Peder. Believe me, it is more of a pleasure to learn your name though." Her accent was terribly cute and he was surprised that he could totally understand her as it was also very thick.
He knew what would get her really talking though. "So love, tell me more about your Midori Beach? If I like what I hear I will definitely take the time off to go fer' a visit."

Hm.. so, was it worth continuing their conversation, or did she need to get back to work? Though Zuberi was a friendly sort, she had never been open to advances from those who were still complete strangers. Still, she was tired from the travel, and there weren't many people on the street that seemed receptive to her advertising save this one creature. "Oh there is plenty of strange tings around here.. what I be needing is a bit o' familiarity.." As soon as she had said it, she rather regretted it. She hadn't wanted to divulge her actual personal feelings to this male. With a sigh, she made a motion with a delicate paw, as if dismissing her sudden bout of melancholy. "I just be missing te waters, friend... funny since I joost got into te city today!"
She looked around, as if contemplating something. "Ah yes, I can tell ye more, but honestly I be needing a bit o' food and rest. You know of a good place?"

“Familiarity? Well I can understand that, love! I myself find myself missing the Selkie Lakes so I can definitely ‘preciate what you’re sayin’. The city is definitely a place of its own; I’m not a big fan of the hustle and bustle of the city because sometimes I like to be alone.” He was being honest with her now because she had – however inadvertently – been honest with him as well.
“Sure, love. There’s an inn and a restaurant not far from here; we could have a bite to eat and I’ll put you up in the inn for the night” He grinned; now showing all his pearly whites. Tonight is certainly going to be interesting; at least I was right on that.
“If you are ready to go, we could go get something to eat now? Might be best to leave while it’s early so we aren’t sneaking about in the dark.”

So now the veils were being put down and instead of two creatures putting up their ruses, it was now more like two cards merely talking on the street. She admitted though, she was wary of his comment about the inn. "Oh yes, don' wanna be walking down the streets in the dark at all, people might get the wrong idea about me." At that, she put on a most innocent face, but couldn't keep the corners of her lips from curling up into a grin. "But I -am- hungry, I admit.." Now, the game within her mind would be what most females had churning about when they had a male vying for their attention. Was she interested? Would he expect too much? She might very well be getting over her head with some pushy guy that only wanted one thing. Because of that, probably she should pay for her own room and food.. besides, she didn't want him having ammo against her once they came up to her room door. She had paused with those thoughts for a split second, and she was immediately afraid that she might have shown a bit of worry crease upon her brow. In a manner meant to distract, she flashed him a smile and took a few hops down the street, pirouetting upon one foot to turn back towards him with a good-natured laugh. "Lead the way? It's my first time visiting the city, after all." (Feel free to do a time hop if necessary. As of now, I'm trying to find a plot angle to go with this. )

(Kind of leaving it open for Anatolius to come in but not open enough that we couldn't continue on our own <3)
Well this was a girl that knew what she wanted; she tried to give the pretense that she was this innocent female but Peder figured she knew the score. However, he was a gentleman so the moment she said beat it he surely would. He would though make good on his promise to get her food and shelter; it would be wrong if he just abandoned her in a city she wasn't familiar with.
He hoped however that she wasn't one of those pushy birds that insisted on complete independence. He was old-fashioned so that kind of annoyed him when it came to it. He liked taking ladies out, made him feel useful; He worked hard at his job and he didn't really have anything to spend his wages on so this gave him something to look forward to.
She wanted him to lead the way and that he would. As they walked down the streets, he pointed out all the places of interest: the warehouse district, the residential, the marketplaces. Everything she would be interested in considering what she was doing when he found her. They neared the restaurant next to the inn and Peder held the door for her as was customary. It was pretty dead tonight so they got a table and was seated right away.
"Well love, wot do you think you want? You can have anything on the menu, it's on me" He smiled.
