Zuberi did her best to make mental notes as they walked. This would be very helpful information, and she was truly appreciative of the little tour. She's return his comments with smiles and nods, sometimes making a comment on how she'd like to go back there on another day.. especially the marketplace. She admittedly loved to shop. Then again, what woman didn't? Trinkets from other lands that -weren't- like what she had at home were a rare commodity, though she admittedly loved her seashell jewelry.
And the restaurant... well it didn't have netting and other beach memorabilia everywhere. It was refreshing, and she couldn't wipe the excited smile off her face if she tried. Peder had started off seeming rather phony with his cheesy lines, but now those guises were being broken down and they were talking like two normal cards would, and she was enjoying it. It was a refreshing change from the lazy males back at home, and the hornball tourists that were looking for summer loving. "Oh, this is nice!" She commented, smoothing her fur as she sat down and picked up her menu. There were so many delicious things on the menu, and it was her first instinct to go for the fish and seafood. No.. she'd branch out this time and try something new.
"It looks all so good.." She crooned, nibbling on a finger as she scanned the entrees. "Would ya believe I've never had prime rib? I'd love to try that..." And she looked up imploringly in his direction, as if asking permission.

Peder held Zuberi's chair for her and then seated himself, picking up a menu as well. He loved this place, he had taken many a lady here and hopefully tonight it would do it's charm as well. Though, he kept getting mixed ideas from Zuberi. At first she seemed carefree like she would do just about anything for her beach but now... now, it seemed Peder wouldn't be so lucky tonight.
"Yes, you are quite right love. Everything on the menu is good here, though I usually stick with the steak as well. Prime rib? Of course, order anything you like... you need not ask me. Order a potato as well, it wouldn't be right if you didn't have that to match. I myself might have the same thing, though I would like a pint of ale. Wot you want to drink, love?" He asked inquisitively to see more what her personality was like and if he would have a drinking partner tonight. He wasn't a lush but he did like to enjoy his ale once in awhile.

"Oh yes, a potato sounds nice." Zuberi agreed heartily. Yams were much more common than potatoes where she lived, so this would be quite the delicacy. When he asked about the drink though, she frowned and shook her head in stout refusal. "Oh, nothing alcoholic for me. I don't drink. I'd love some milk though." So many people thought her a prude because she didn't drink, but she really didn't like the taste or the effects of it. "I really do apologize, but I can't stand the stuff. I hardly drink it even on special occasions."
Now she felt a little uncomfortable. If she was defensive about anything, it was her selectiveness about what she put in her body. Finding it prudent to change the subject, she decided to ask him more about himself. "Well, you be knowing at least some of what I do, but I hardly know a thing about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your hobbies?"

Even if she was sending mixed signals, he was glad he could help her; she didn't look like she got good meals very often and her wanting milk was endearing.
"No worries, love. I find it kind of cute. Besides, I told you that you could order anything you want and I plan to uphold that" He smiled. She was obviously not comfortable about the subject so she made the attention on him.... heh.
"Well love, I am an open book... or I should be. I am a stone mason so whenever someone needs building done, i'm the guy they call. It keeps me busy more often than not but I still manage to have my fun. As for hobbies, I like to go to the garden sometimes and see the flowers but if anyone asks... I never said that" He grinned. He kept that secret even from his brother and he told him everything.

Now, listening to him talk about himself was decidedly fun. With a smile, Zuberi listened to him speak with her chin propped up on her hand, taking in every word. Being a stone mason sounded intriguing, and she was rather impressed that he had such a job. She half expected him to be a pimp or some swanky businessman with how he acted. She was beginning to suspect he was more down to earth than he let out. Oh goodness.. and about the flowers! She giggled, more amused that he decided to divulge such information than because she thought the actual act was funny. "Nothing wrong with a sensitive side that likes flowers! We have such an array of flowers in Midori..." Her expression drifted off into a dreamy smile.
Realizing she had drifted off into though, she mentally shook herself. "Being a stone mason sounds fascinating.. There are few people in Midori who actually take on such important jobs. Most just want to sit around and make souvenirs all day, but-" She put her hands up, in front of her, as in defense. "Don't get me wrong! I love making them as well, but Id love to have a more substantial job.. like a travel agency."

It would seem there was more to this girl than he thought... A travel agency? From what he heard of Midori Beach, they were a lazy bunch but this girl... she had dreams. Ambitions. He was even more intrigued by this than anything else; he certainly hadn't considered that when he picked her up but perhaps he would try and help her.
"Well, if you take me to your Midori Beach... once I come back I will tell all my chums and they will visit too. Then hopefully the tourist activity there will pick up and your friends will be motivated just from your example" He smiled at her.
He doubted his last statement just from knowing how Midori's behaved but there wasn't anything wrong with holding out hope... all he knew was being a worker so it wasn't so out of line to expect it from others.

"Are you sure that's not an excuse to get a free tour guide around Midori?" She winked to let him know she was kidding, sitting up in her chair and considering that. "But yes, feel free to come along when I go back; it's a beautiful place, and I'd love to show you around. There are plenty of sights to see, oh... and a lovely cove.." She smiled wistfully. "I've been barely gone a few days and I already miss home." It was probably because it was her first time leaving Midori, but she didn't know if subsequent visits out of town would ever make it easier to leave her little paradise.
The waiter came by, and she was quick to make her own order, excitedly rattling out what she wanted in her little accent before placing her hands neatly in her lap, obviously excited at something so simple as food. Well, could you blame her? Normally her diet consisted of seaweed, shellfish and yams. A bit of red meat was more than welcome into her diet.

"Free tour? Well I would never dare but if I could get a tour guide as lovely as you... well I'm not complainin'" He grinned. What an exciting offer, going to an exotic place with a girl on his arm who was just as beautiful being led around...Yes, that would do just fine.
"Yea, perhaps I will have to take you up on that, love. Cove? Sounds.. secluded." He jested. He liked to tease but it was up to her where she wanted it to go.
"It is a terrible feelin' to ache for your home, I feel that sometimes as well." At that moment, the the waiter came by and he chuckled to himself while Zuberi ordered; it was so cute, he supposed they didn't have food things like this back in Midori Beach. Well, he was glad she could eat well and try different things while with him.
After she finished her order, he asked the waiter to bring him a nice steak with a pint of ale.

Her face dropped into a blank, surprised one as she realized what she had implied, and had to force her mouth shut so as not to interrupt him and the waiter. It was time enough to give herself time to collect her thoughts, and as the waiter moved on, she smirked. Well, what was she to say to that? Now she realized he was only joking and didn't expect such a thing of her, and she relaxed once more.
"So were you actually from Selkie Lakes? There are so many others in this city from all sorts of regions, but merely had parents that traveled. I can't imagine not having roots to go back to though. If I have children, I want them to be born in Midori under my customs." The way she said it was in one of those 'what's wrong with children today?' sort of attitudes, so she hardly even noticed she had said something at least somewhat personal. I mean, who talks about kids on a first date? Haha.
Then again, was it a first date? Supposedly it might be somewhat, but then again it had been offered on a more neutral, helpful ground. Oh well, no need looking a gift horse in the mouth, she supposed.
