Elias cocked an eyebrow and nodded his head. He didn't know what criterion might be needed, but willingness to serve and determination were usually good leaping off places.
He placed a hand on the doe's shoulder, reaching for her hand. "Never gotten to say I've been the first person to shake a king's hand before," he said with a grin. "Nice going kid." She had grit, but he wouldn't tell her that. He rarely told Rai, for that matter. Did it make a difference? He didn't know.
He released her hand as unceremoniously as he'd scooped it up, and turned his attention to his friend of old. Time to see what court life, Queen life, was doing to him. Besides eating his arm, apparently.
He scooped up his bag. Maybe he'd get some nice digs this time, instead of having to rough it in some hole in the wall near the Bazaar. Otherwise, what good was having a friend who's a Queen?

Her eyes managed to find a delicate stillness, unwavering and unflinching at his words, though the anticipation had started to make her ill, and now and again her vision blurred over the stallion's confident features. What he said was important, and true, things she'd thought of before, honestly. The court was filling up faster than she expected, she'd almost thought she might be left behind with the long hours she'd put in to get where she was now. When he finished, she nodded her head in agreeance and respect and waited for the final verdict that would come from his leadup.
It was worth everything. In that one single moment she would have spent a month blindly out in that wilderness, she would have tried to conn a murderer back if the Queen had of wished it, just to feel what she felt in that moment. Nothing else had ever made her feel so... alive. Fighting her hardest not to act like a pageant beauty queen, it was all she could do to take a deep bow, hiding the smile she couldn't avoid, and hold that pose for enough beats until she knew she could keep her composure.
"Thank you, my Queen." The words felt good, natural, and she realized her loyalty to him had been building before the quest, she had never second guessed Bernard's placement for her, and with good reason. Shock registered when Elias gave her somewhat of a pat on the back before taking her hand. She couldn't help but grin at this, and clasped it with a firm grip.
"Well, I don't know what bragging rights it will give you, but now you have." She began to head for the door, noticing that it was past late and the two probably had a lot to talk about out of her earshot. She'd already been dismissed, and she would have to go quickly stuff her things in a bag for relocation. The doe managed to keep only a small bounce in her step as she made her way to where Samid waited, making sure to close the Queen's door securely behind her. Their personal matters were none of her business.
"Queen Shinrai told me you would see me to my new room?"

Pleased warmth flared suddenly in the stallion's gaze and he surreptitiously watched her leave, torn between a Queen's indifference and his own personality. So as she left the room, he twitched his fingers in farewell and turned his gaze back to Elias, face darkening as he contemplated his friend. This would not be easy, even with how 'simple' El's return was.
Waiting out in the hall, only the ram was in sight and when Sekhmet exited the room, he gave her a bow and intoned with a barely hidden smile, "Your Highness. Congratulations."
Still, it was only a moment filled with a choking kind of laugh for Larry to poked his head around the corner he was hiding behind and say, "You made it! Oh, your Ex-your Highness!" The raccoon nearly bounced from foot to foot, goodwill towards Queen Rai restored now that it was evident the man had not been plotting to turn the doe away.
Samid, for once, endured the breach in formality for a moment, his own face fighting a desire to grin. "Please, follow me, your Highness."
(( Feel free to get to her new suite and close up! Congratulations, Tigs and Sekhmet! <3 ))

The doe was surprised at how happy she was to find Samid waiting so exictedly for her, and his obvious good spirits made a wide grin break out over her feminine features that she'd been trying so very hard to contain. "Thank you very much, Samid." It seemed inappropriate, but she just wanted to hug someone. How very... Sekhmet of her. She was a touchy thing, and she'd been trying to restrain herself and be lady like for so very long. Well, might as well keep that composure. When Lawrence poked his head around, she laughed aloud and put a hand to her face in surprise. "Well put. I'm glad you waited for me, Lawrence." What Shinrai had said earlier had indeed rang true. It touched her that his servants already cared on such a personal level for her. It bode extremely well as far as her future was considered. It wouldn't take too much plotting on their behalf to overthrow the Queen's seemingly, somewhat, kind of good impression of her. "Happily. You know, as soon as I'm not exhausted, I think this is cause for a celebration." She mused as she followed the ram, casually asking Lawrence about his exciting stay in the hallway while waiting for her return with what surely must have been baited breath. It took her only moments to grab her things, and about as long to set them up in her significantly more impressive suite. ((Wootwoot! Thank you Sera and Rai for the tough quest of awesomeness ))
