"You will be, now on with the lesson," Aunt Josephine said with a note of finality. --- A few months later Conway stood at the front door. He had grown rather fond of Thyme, but was very surprised to find yet another wolf standing in front of him--and walking past him. He watched as the girl looked around briefly before shouting. "HEY AUNT JOE! GUESS WHO?" at the top of her lungs. This was going to be messy. Conway shook his head and shut the door carefully. He figured that this little loud girl who was insulting the old bag was related to Thyme. If that was the case, she couldn't be that bad. Rosemary wagged her tail happily as she looked up at the mantle. Oooooh those swords were rather pretty weren't they? She grinned. Thyme and her would have to play with them later. Aunt Joe would be furious. All the better!

Thyme heard her sister's shout echo through the house, up the staircase to her room easily, and shoved away the book she was reading in favor of scrambling off the bed in an unladylike heap. Rosemary was finally here!
She'd asked her aunt last month if she was allowed to invite her sister up for a visit, not the biped but the one she could stand. Josephine had seemed hesitant but allowed her to invite her sister, which delighted her to no end. She wasn't necessarily lonely here, since she was too busy learning from her aunt to have time to be lonely and, besides, she could talk to Conway about things without having to worry about him telling anyone else. Whenever she had an issue with a lesson her aunt had taught her, she would talk it out at him until it made more sense to her since, for some reason, just talking about it let her settle it more firmly in her own mind.
With a thump, she hit the ground and streaked down the stairs, taking them two and three at a time until she could pounce her sister into the floor. "Finally!" she mock-scoffed with a grin on her muzzle. "Took you long enough to get here, geez! This is Aunt's house, this is Conway - he's one of the hired help but probably the nicest," that bit was whispered, "and Aunt's upstairs so I bet she heard you and is coming down soon."

Josephine shuddered. That voice. Rosemary. She hesitated to stop what she was doing to go and check up on the girl. No, she would wait. Thyme would be enjoying her sisters company somehow. She just didn't want to deal with the little.... monster.
Meanwhile Conway made a little bow nod to the other King of Clubs. Rosemary and Thyme then? Interesting pair of children. Obviously Rosemary was the less than sane one. At least she seemed nice.
"Ooooh. It's nice to meet Conway! Hisstors are so interesting but... I've never seen a bone ornamentation like yours before--Oh right! Yeah. Sorry I was late Thyme. We've been having a lot of tiffs between Sage and Parsley since you left. It's a bloody nightmare." She smirked as she looked over to the mantle piece. "So uh.... did Joe tell you not to touch those lovely little swords?"
Piss off the Aunt was the game today. Then she would ask all the "how are you?" questions.

Thyme watched Conway react to her sister and smiled slightly, pleased that Rosemary hadn't immediately set him on edge or anything like she had with Aunt Josephine. Normally she got on well enough with people, at least in the Wood, but it might be different outside of her home region, especially considering how their aunt always reacted to her. Then again, Rose had really taken to taunting her of late.
News from home made her ears perk forward. "Really, she's been getting on Parsley's nerves that bad? Just doesn't have me to bitch at anymore or something? What's wrong with her now?" She didn't even bother to assume that her brother might be the problem. No, it was Sage. She just knew. She'd talked to Conway about that sister before...
And there was a pitch from left field. She blinked at Rosemary blankly for a minute before she turned her head to look at the pair of swords hanging just below Devya's portrait. "Umm. Actually, she did. She said I wasn't to touch them. However did you know?" She rolled her eyes briefly.

"Sage is Sage. You know." Rosemary waved a paw, to dismiss the entire situation. "Well they look so very important. I can't help but wonder what she would do to us if we touched them."
Conway made a flailing motion and shook his head. That was a very bad idea! Why on earth did she want to aggravate the old bag that much. She may have been related to her, but Conway couldn't imagine she could get away with that.
The young king didn't notice one bit. Well she did, but she was ignoring the soundless voice of reason. She eyed the sofa near the mantle with a smirk on her face. She ran towards it, bounced off of one of the cushions and smirked. Plush and bouncey. Perfect. "I say, at the same time. We take those bloody things off the wall. Just to spite her for being slow."
Oh Aunt Joe. You should have come down the stairs sooner, but you where no where in sight!

Thyme stared at her blankly for a minute before shaking her mane out of her eyes. They were fifteen now... wasn't that kind of childish? And immature? And... well, yes, it sounded fun... but it would piss Aunt off something terrible, she just knew it.
"She said something about the swords belonging to our family's history and their being important but she didn't say much more on the subject. And really, it's not like we could fight very effectively with them right now. Neither of us have our biped form and we'd have to hold the hilts in our mouths and... this argument sounds kind of pathetic, doesn't it?"
From the look her sister was giving her, it did indeed. She stared at the swords for a minute, then at Conway telling her silently not to do what her sister was so bluntly suggesting. He was probably right. It would put their aunt in a snit and maybe worse, especially if they damaged something.
...but her sister's look was so taunting and tempting all at once! She gave Conway an apologetic glance. "Maybe you should go into the kitchen or something so she doesn't see you when she comes down and you don't have to be involved with this." Then she ran over to the couch where Rosemary bounced and jumped up, staring at her sister expectantly.

Conway bolted the moment she suggested that he leave. Oh he wasn't going to be in the room when that woman was there. He didn't want to have his spine pulled or anything like that. No. He was going to wait outside of the room until she screamed bloody murder.
Rosemary wiggled a bit as she hopped up and down on the sofa for a moment more. She counted to three before leaping, balancing on the mantle. There we go, Thyme was with her, all they needed to do was grab the things and then take them off. She smirked as she took one in her mouth and hopped down to the floor carefully. Oh, talk about skill!
Then she saw the horrified look of aunt greeting her as she looked past Thyme's head.
"YOU IDIOTS! I TOLD YOU NOT TO TOUCH THOSE!" Josephine screamed at the top of her lungs before rushing towards them. Just don't drop them just don't drop them. OH PLEASE DON'T DROP THEM.

Thyme leaped up to the mantle with her sister and grabbed hold of one of the hilts in her mouth, bouncing back down to the couch and onto the ground to grin around the weapon at her sister. She'd forgotten how fun the other girl was and how much trouble she could get them both in. But sometimes when Rosemary planned it... she just didn't care. At all. It was a blast.
She saw her sister's eyes widen slightly and turned her head just in time to watch her aunt appear and scream at them. In guilty surprise, she let the sword roll out of her mouth and hit the ground.
...or at least, it would have hit the ground had it been a normal sword. Instead, it 'disappeared', sucking within the blink of an eye straight into Thyme's chest and making her gasp in surprise when it was gone. And suddenly... she felt something in the back of her head. Not someone, but something, and it sat there like a weight in the back of her mind. Her eyes were huge and startled, staring at her sister, not knowing what was going on.

The same thing had happened to Rosemary, and she just found herself staring blankly at her sister. What... what just happened? How much trouble had she actually gotten the pair into.
Josephine threw her hands up in the air before punching the nearest piece of wall. "DAMN YOU!" she cried before kicking the same wall, leaving marks with both her fist and her shoe. An angry old woman had a lot of force behind her blows apparently. She growled--like the wolf she was--and stalked over to the pair. "Do you have any idea what you've done? Those weapons! I told you not to touch them!" She was furious. Her words were sharp like knives, and it was taking all of her power not to shake the pair of them senseless. "CONWAY!" She yelled.
The boy peaked his head around the corner with a wide eyed look. Surprisingly he looked happy in a creepy sort of way. He had been doing a lot of extra work. Cleaning, sewing, crazy stuff in the ungodly hours of the night. It had scared Josephine witless more than once. Well, if he was so damn happy he could deal with these two. "Escort these ladies to their room." She made a point of making it singular. If Rosemary was going to cause so much trouble Thyme was going to have to be in the same room as her. "And I don't want them to leave until dinner. Understand? I'll explain everything to them then."
He nodded. Conway would have given a frustrated sigh if it were audible. Instead he just walked twitch tailed to the girls and ushered them to the room.
Oh god. He wasn't going to be able to sit still for that long.

Thyme's eyes widened further and her ears went back as her aunt screamed. She hadn't... expected that. Something, but not that. What the hell just happened?! She didn't say a word in the face of Josephine's anger, just walked from the room with a slightly lower posture than she would have normally adopted. She didn't know what her sister looked like right now, but she didn't have to live with the woman and deal with the consequences of whatever the hell they'd just managed to do.
Or, well, maybe she did have to live with some sort of consequence. A sword had just shot into her chest too, after all.
She followed Conway and went into her room, distracted completely. Something was different in her head. It felt weird. She hopped up onto her bed and sat, staring at the comforter. What was this feeling? She completely ignored everyone and everything for about five minutes until suddenly her eyes widened and she stared up at Conway and Rosemary.
"I think I just figured out what the weapons are," she said in a hushed voice, then tilted her head and concentrated for a minute until the sword that had recently disappeared just POPPED right back into existence and fell to rest on the bed. She stared at it, then poked it with a paw.
And then it disappeared again... because she willed it to. "Summoned weapons," she muttered, shocked. "But... we're not Hearts..."
