He shook his head frantically after a second.
"No! You're pretty, and you've got those pretty green and purple swirls, and that mane..." His voice was almost longing on the last word as he looked over Morpheus' form. Of course the hybrid wasn't boring. Aph was just predictable, and that was what made him boring. He looked like every single other Torquehelm out there, without the benefit of some sort of really interesting binding. Just a wire that hampered his movements.
Only after his outburst did he register the comment about his eyes being Morpheus' favorite color exactly, which made him blush harder (and that felt like the time when Ari had shaved off all of his fur and he'd gotten sunburned before it grew back).
And then he couldn't think, because everything went blank and empty and quiet when he was kissed, as his brain threw it's metaphorical hands up into the air and walked off.

He already knew he was pretty, and perfect for that matter. He knew all the disgusting details about lowlanders and what they were supposed to look like, and he was rather thankful that he wasn't anything like they were. He was actually saying things for Aph's benefit at this current point in time and wouldn't make on comment on what the boy said, yet. The otter didn't fight him at all when he kissed him and he held it for a few moments before pulling his head back enough to nose his cheek with his little green nose.
Aph ... I'm not generally into Torquehelms, their personalities are a rather big turn off and they're mostly a waste of pretty colors .... but I like you, you're different..... Don't argue with me.
A playful grin spread over his muzzle as he curled his tail up into it's happy little 's' shape again and he pulled his head back once again, but he didn't take his gaze away from the Spade. There were other things he'd like to do to the otter but he wouldn't be going there. not tonight. He didn't want to chase this one away like he had the boy's brother. Besides, it might be ... interesting to take it slow for once. He already knew the boy thought he was pretty, so he was quite comfortable with letting his mind assume the otter was interested in him.

He didn't say anything after the kiss, but the brilliant blush and the fact that he didn't show any inclination whatsoever to move away probably indicated rather well that he wasn't objecting to it in the least. And, he managed to think (though very quietly, in the places he was sure no one else could hear) that he wouldn't mind it again either. Or something like it. When Morpheus spoke again, he did start a bit.
"But-" He stopped when Mo cut him off, and as he probably was going to have argued, he just went quiet again. He wasn't that different, or special, or anything. Why didn't Morpheus understand that? But he wasn't going to say anything else right now, because it was kind of nice to think of himself as being worthy of compliments. Okay, really nice.
He wasn't, however, all that sure that he wanted to continue this specific line of conversation, because it was embarrassing enough.
"Uhm. Ah. What did you say...that you wanted to show me?" He didn't move away either, and he caught the happy shape of the hybrid's tail, and felt a flush of pleasure as well.

As that one little word passed over the boy's tongue and was followed by silence that playful little smirk he wore shifted into a somewhat goofy looking, toothy grin. He totally won the argument ... for now, and he liked that thought. The question that followed the silence though, that caught him a little off guard and his ears flipped themselves to two separate, awkward looking angles and he dipped his head ever so slightly and gave the otter a sheepish look before trying ot make his expression as cute as possible.
Well I ... wanted to show you the stars, and this spot. This is .... where I disappear to. You're the only one that knows that, not even mother knows .... not like he'd care but ...
He bit his tongue to keep from going on any further, was he really this starved for attention that he'd gladly babble off things that no one else knew? Then again you could tell the rat wasn't exactly the parent type, much less motherly type, simply by looking at him. Oh well, looks like he'd just have to occupy his mouth with something else to keep it from running any further.
He turned and flopped himself down on the blanket, stretching out his long form fully and reaching out to stab a piece of fruit with a single claw and bring it up to his muzzle to nibble on it in a rather dainty manner. Well, Aph would leave for sure now, he was certain of it, but he couldn't help but let his gaze drift back over to the otter. He also couldn't help but hope he'd stretch out next to him and continue to keep him company here in the roof.

His eyes went wide for a second and that sank in. Oh! Oh, he hadn't wanted to make it sound like he didn't appreciate this!
"N-no! I mean, I was wondering if there was anything else, because this certainly is really amazing, because I couldn't imagine what else you'd be able to pull out that would be better than this. I-I'm sorry..." He probably would have continued to babble senseless apologies if he could think of anything better to say, but instead he fell silent, fur slick to his body with nerves and guilt, because he had to have sounded so greedy. Finally he gathered himself back together, and spoke again.
"It is beautiful up here, and unlike anything else. Thank you, Morpheus. I...thank you." One small part of him worried that using the hybrid's name was just too familiar, but if he'd been brought to a place where no one else went, he thought they were familiar enough for names instead of titles.

He turned his head to fully acknowledge the otter and by the time he was done with his apologies a grin was resting on his muzzle once more. He curled his tail up a bit and a very light chuckle escaped his throat before it ended on a much higher, giggle leveled note. This little torque was so very cute!
Well then let's just stretch out and enjoy the evening... shall we?
Once again he patted the spot next to him with a clawed paw, only this time the spot he patted was rather close to his side, he wanted to give the boy at least a little hint of what he really wanted him to do, besides it was just a wee bit chilly this evening and a nice, warm boy to lean against would be most appreciated just for that. And beyond that .... otter fur was just so very different from any other kind he;d felt in the past, so very slick and shiny.
And then another little thought popped into his mind, the boy was still using his full and proper name, no title but still .... that was a little to formal for his taste when it came to what the boy called him and he curled his tail up a bit more.
Aph .... you can call me Mo, if you'd like.

"Alright," he finally said, and then settled himself down where Morpheus had indicated. The warmth of the other was nice, and cozy, and he could easily look up at the sky and watch the stars. This was...nice. Very nice, and peaceful, and unlike the utter chaos he usually felt inside of the Palace where his mother could keep an eye on him and he had to be busy and working every moment of the day. He was only a Nine, but she seemed to expect him to rank up to at least a Jack to help her officially in the Court, as opposed to unofficially as he was now. So it was nice, to sit and not be expected to do anything but eat fruit and enjoy the company.
At the permission granted, he glanced over to the side with surprised eyes, which then softened to a shy expression and a little smile.
"Thank you...Mo."
--
It was almost time to go. It was almost time for Mo to come by and pick him up from his rooms, and he wasn't ready yet, because he just looked ridiculous, and he'd tried on a few ornaments to see if he should wear them, because maybe they would help him look better, and then he'd decided to swap them out for different ones, and maybe he shouldn't wear any at all. And now his fur was all mussed up and he looked even worse than he had before!

He was rather content to curl his tail around the otter once again and resume his dainty fruit eating and star gazing, no one really expected anything out of him .... but it was nice to have living company for once. Books just didn't make great companions, nor did stars.
_____________
He'd promised Aph that he'd take him out sometime, and had finally pinned down a date and had planned the evening as well. He'd spent quite a bit of time fussing over his fur and his hair but he'd finally gotten everything all in it's proper place and topped it all off with a pretty purple ribbon to tie his mane back with. Now all that was left was to go and pick the otter up and escort him out and off to their evening of fun.
As he came down the hall he had a little spring in his step and his tail was curled up and into it's happy little s shape by the time he arrived on Aph's doorstep. He paused, staring at said door for a moment, and then he reached up a paw and gave it the best knock he could, dexterous paws or not knocking was still a little difficult with just an animal form.

Ohhhh, Suits! He was here now! Aphasia cast a near-desperate glance at the doorway, and then just dropped all thoughts of jewelry right now and carefully shoved everything back into the jewelry box, trying to neaten up as quickly as possible.
"I'll...I'll be right there! Hold on a second!" He turned to head toward the door, and then jerked to a stop and cursed softly as a twinge informed him he'd gotten his wire caught on one of the things he'd been shoving away. It only took a second to free, but that was a second more than he'd really wanted to spend. Finally he got it out, and took one last desperate look in the mirror and hoped that he didn't look too terrible (regardless of the compliments Mo kept throwing his way) before he went to the door.
It was easy enough to open, and then he was staring at Mo as his breath left him in a rush.
"Oh wow, you're pretty." Apparently the control over his mouth had left him at about the same time.

His ears perked forward all the way when her heard the call from the other side and he couldn't help but chuckle ever so slightly, that totally meant the boy was busy getting ready still and, with a little bit of his ego added into it, he was pretty sure it was just for him. His tail curled even more as he adjusted his posture and tilted his head just so to ensure that when the Spade opened the door he got the best view possible ... and apparently it worked, if he could judge anything by the words that flew out of the little Torque's maw. A rather broad, toothy grin spread over his muzzle after that.
Why thank you! You're looking especially cute tonight yourself.
He followed up his words with a wink and turned his body to angle himself in the direction they needed to go to exit the palace, but he couldn't quite keep the tip of his tail from twitching with some combination of nerves and anticipation. Really this was the first date he'd ever planned, much less been on and he was eager to see if Aphasia would enjoy the evening as much as he thought he would. Well, wait .... did Aph even really know this was a date? He wasn't entirely sure if he'd been clear or not ...
Shall we? Our ride awaits.
Ah it was nice to have a secretly wealthy parent who rarely used any of their own money to mooch off of ....
