Mori nodded slightly, offering Dillis a small smile. She wasn't sure what she'd expected, but she knew that many from Avington kept sometimes horrible secrets. Perhaps it was a wasted effort, but the sparrow couldn't even begin to imagine the way it would wear on your mind and your soul. She could just be there for her friends when they needed her, whether they could tell her what was wrong or not. "Anytime. Sometimes we all just need a friend who will listen."
Her head tilted to the side in a characteristically avian manner, and her expression became thoughtful. "Even if it does nothing, it would still be a beautiful thing... It's true. I believe we should at least find out some of the history, though." she nodded to herself, almost seeming to reassure herself that her logic was sound. Despite her inital nerves at the prospect, she could feel herself almost starting to become... Excited. She would gain a new story from this experience, she was certain of it!
"The shopping can wait." she smiled happily. "Let's look at this so-called charmed music box!" and with that, she turned towards the store.

(Edit: Kari is going to bring Gale in now I believe)
Dilis smiled at Mori. "Yes, let us go in now! I am so thrilled to see Gale again." She said as she headed with Mori toward the store. Slowly she opened the door and peered inside. She saw no one at first but she figured Gale must have been in back as per usual finding something wonderful for a customer.
"Gale, dear" she called. "It is Dilis, from before? I was inquiring about the music box. I brought a friend with me as well."
She looked around, scanning the room for the item she had been waiting for. Finally she saw it, it was still there like they had hoped and it looked like it had not been touched since she had last been in. "Mori love, this is it. See, the plaque only says that it is cursed but I do not see how it is cursed... I hope he is able to clear up this little mystery for us."

Gale looked up from what he was reading with mild amusement. Dear wasn't a usual term that was used in his line of work. He had half a mine to poke fun at the young feline that he did very much remember, instead he smile smiled cordially at the young ladies in his shop.
"Everything about that music box is cursed, but if you still want to buy it, it's still full price. I'm not letting that thing go for anything less than 50g. It was made by a master craftsmen." Gale smiled as he turned the page in his book absently. "It's also a pleasure to meet your, young lady. If I had a hat I would tip it to you," Gale said as he looked at the sparrow. "If you want anything that isn't all that expensive, I'm willing to part with it at half the price. The same goes to you Miss Dilis. The music box is one of the only things in this store that goes at full price."
If only the girl asked what the curse was. He could tell her plan and simple that it was a bad idea to own anything of the sort. To each their own though.

Mori crept into the store, eyes wide as she looked all around her. It was a beautiful store, that much was certain! She had just began to look at the various shelves, wondering if any of the items would catch her eye, when Dillis ushered her to the music box. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked it over, only just managing to refrain from reaching out to touch the beautiful thing.
"It really is lovely," she said, smiling at Dillis. "I just can't begin to imagine how something so pretty could be cursed... It doesn't seem fair to me!" She wanted to hear its song, but then the shopkeep appeared and Mori realized that it would have to wait, at least for now. She gave the man a small bow and a happy smile. He really did seem rather nice.
"Sir, I'm sorry to bother you, but Dillis and I were both wondering... How is this lovely box cursed? I mean, it looks so lovely just sitting there, and I can't imagine how bad it could be." perhaps her words were silly, but it was true! She leaned over the counter, smiling at the shopkeep with hopeful eyes. If it wasn't so bad, then Dillis could buy it and admire it in her own home! She secretly wished that Ceren was here, her sister was much better with this kind of thing.

"I see, well I suppose 50g sounds good to me, also that is terribly nice to give me half price to the other wares. Yes, I did mean to inquire what about the curse on the music box. I have been terribly curious about it but have only just now been able to retrieve it. How bad could it possibly be?"
She had heard of cursed items and one should beware around them but... she had never seen one up close.
"Also, I would like to take another one of your magic books as well." She took another book off the shelf this time for intermediates and headed back to the counter. She handed the monies over to Gale and went back to look at the music box.
"That should cover it all, was there anything that caught your eye Mori? I really do not mind spotting you the money for it" She smiled.

Gale tilted his head to the side as he watched the woman place the money on the counter. She was asking questions later rather than first. It was a bit late to take it back now though. He might as well tell her the truth about the horrible little thing. It would be a shame to scare such a pair of sweet young ladies out of their head.
"The box was made by a pretty well known Corvistowneian woman named Rosemary. However it didn't appear on the market until after her death." Gale shrugged, he wasn't about to explain how he acquired such a thing. "Now, if you put something that doesn't belong to you personally in the music box, something happens to that person depending on how important that item is to them. My best example is the person who returned the box to me. Her brother went deaf after she put a set of his earrings in the box."
It sounded like a freakish accident, but after the box had been returned to Gale more than twelve times, he began to wonder. There was one strange connection with the box though. "Also, people have found blood on their jewelry after placing it in the box and leaving it there for more than a week."
Right. That covered it, didn't it? "Yes. That's it. Everything else is half price if you want to buy anything else. I assure you, nothing else is cursed in my shop."
Of course that was a lie, but neither of them were diamonds, so it all worked out smashingly!

Under her feathers, Mori could feel the slightest hints of a blush beginning to creep up. Dilis was just so very sweet! She was starting to feel more and more fond of the feline, and hoped that they would be able to spend more time together soon! "Awww, Dilis.. You really don't need to," she smiled, glad her blush wasn't obvious under her maroon feathers. "If I find something I like, I'm sure I'll have the money for it. But thank you so much for the offer." Really, it was one of the nicest things the sparrow had encountered for some time.
She turned towards Gale as he began to answer their question, clutching her basket. Mori was completely enthralled, listening to the shopkeeper speak with slightly-widened eyes. The story was a fascinating one, and the sparrow glanced back at the music box. It was such an amazingly pretty thing, really...
"Do you think it would be dangerous if you never stored anything in it?" she asked, looking thoughtful. "The song is so pretty, and so is the box itself... It sounds like the only problem with it comes from storing things inside..." it just might work. And hey, if she had a problem with someone... Then she'd have a way to deal with it!

"No no dear, it is quite alright; you have been kind to me today so I just would like to return the favor. Oh my, well I suppose it would be alright as long as I did not put my jewelry in it like you said Mori. I know it may seem foolish to buy it first but I knew when I saw it, I had to have it. It is so beautiful and Clare de Lune really is my favorite song. Mother used to play it for me when I was younger whenever I had a bad dream." Dilis said thoughtfully. Those really were great times when her mother was still alive and she would play music for her or sing to make her feel better or just to help her sleep.
"Was there however anything that caught your eye, Mori? Gale always has such wonderful things, I keep wanting to come back and see what he has that is new" Dilis smiled.
She enjoyed seeing new items but perhaps she liked the company even more? She would never open that can of worms though; it just seemed too messy to her and in the end, it would ruin a wonderful thing she had here.

Mori positively beamed at Dillis, a delicate blush touching her features, all but hidden by her maroon feathers. This sort of kindness was completely unexpected, especially from someone she'd just met. She looked around the shelves, a hand brushing over a small hairpin that was resting on a shelf. It was shaped like a flower of some kind, Mori didn't know the name, and the petals were carved from abalone and shimmered when the light played over them. The pricetag only made her smile wider, and she brought it to the feline.
"What do you think about this?" she asked, glancing up at the other as she held the small decoration into the light, letting its colors come into the open. It was such a pretty thing, she thought again. "I could use it to hold my hair back when I don't do it up in braids..."
She was still feeling completely flustered by the other woman's offer, but the trinket was enough to help her push that aside. She didn't want to insult Dilis by refusing her again, so she decided it would be easier to go along with things. With any luck, she would be able to repay her later with lunch.
