She blushed at the question, knowing she just thought about how magically challenged she was, and how much she preferred simple things like crafting, things she understood. "No, but a certain few of the jewelry pieces Rindal plans to have enchanted at some point. I don't know why, but he wants it done." She shrugged, feigning nonchalance. In reality, she was terrified of it. What if they were enchanted wrong? What if someone were to play a joke and they did something terrible instead? Magic seemed so... finicky, unpredictable. Plain old metal and wood were reliable, her works could never hurt anyone of their own accord, and once she sold them, she had no attachment to them any longer, no way to make them heed her wishes.
She liked that. It was simple, traditional, natural. She couldn't help but furrow her brow in confusion, it was a strange question to ask someone who had never used her magic, ever. But he probably didn't know that, nonetheless... "Why do you ask?" It was a simple curious question, perhaps he did some form of enchanting and could help Rindal out. At least she trusted the male enough that she hoped he wouldn't be petty enough to do some sort of backwards spell. Rindal gave everyone a hard time, Aderlass was just particularily unfortunate, because Varuna had brought him in... alone... and he was a male. All things that were sure to induce territorial stress in the Corvistowne feline.
Though, she didn't know this, but Rindal had been listening in quite closely. It seemed his attention had been perked when the other male had started complimenting his work. He came down the stairs until he sat on the bottom one, grinning for once in a non-hostile manner. "So, you like my stuff, huh? I'll get better with practice, but that's what I have for now." Modest words for a guy who was secretly planning in his head what those little starter pieces would go for if this art dealer guy actually really Liked them, and then, what his Practices pieces might go for... hooboy!

Nodding his head to towards what the female had said he continued to admire the work, moving from one piece to the next. He had solely asked the question out of curiosity and to make sure he knew what he was getting himself into if he choice any of their works.
“People are always interested into enchanted items, as I am sure you are aware, so if Rindal can mange to get some of the jewelry pieces enchanted then the prices for his work will go up. A simple enchantment can be a huge benefit to a beginner in this industry as well.”
It was not long before the lad called out from the bottom step, “So, you like my stuff, huh? I'll get better with practice, but that's what I have for now." He was not really surprised by the boy’s presence, from the boy’s nature he figured that he would not leave him alone in their home and creations without keeping a close eye on him.
“You really are a talented maker, especially being an apprentice yourself. I really enjoy your wood and metal makings, those are quite remarkable. I assume you have only trained under Miss Varuna?”

Miss Varuna? Hmmm, when had she ever been called that? Oh right, never. Well, a gentleman, was it truly possible? A GENTLEMAN, in the marshes? No, surely not. She almost laughed to herself, but nobody would have gotten the joke except her. Coughing quietly, she considered his advice, seeming visibly squeamish about the entire idea. Magic, touching her work? Eeeek. Rindal was free to do as he liked, and he'd probably love the idea, and while Varuna thought that was fine for him, it was not fine for her.
Not wanting to seem stubborn though, she didn't admit this out loud. "Oh really? I'll have to err... think on it. I'm sure Rindal will love th-" She noticed his comment then, tail twitching in surprise at his appearance. He just didn't give up, that boy. Well, at least he was being somewhat polite. Like maker, like apprentice. All it took was a little buttering up and they were sold. Sometimes. She could tell fake compliments when she heard them, and boy did that Piss Her Off. She'd scared more than one potential buyers away because of their snobbish 'Oh yes... that's.... pretty *harhar*'.
Rindal relaxed against the stairs and posed like a real life Narcissus. "Well, I've had a lot of practice you know. I suppose I'm a more... dedicated craftsman than most." Oh no, he didn't honk his own horn, not at all. Do do do. He smirked as he spotted the female twitching in the corner, she was just waiting for him to say something nasty, and he knew it. No, right now the male had a purpose, and ego-stroking was a very important purpose at that. He was no threat when he was admiring Rindal's ability. Honestly, he had a bit of a fear of Varuna leaving him on his own for some... guy. He hated being the one nobody liked, who wasn't good enough.
"Yeah, she took me in a few years ago, and I've been learning under her ever since."

“Works that are not enchanted are fine as well. We will want to hit all of our customer’s desires.” He was oblivious to her discomfort if she showed any. “All of your works are marvelous.” he cooed softly while moving from a few rings that sat on a small table to a mirror that hung on the wall. Regardless of the fact that her works had not enchantments, something that was not all that serious, he was impressed and would be very pleased if she would accept him as a dealer.
At Rindal’s comment he raised an eyebrow in the mirror. He could hear the egotistical tone and he was slightly offended by it. While yes this lad’s works were pretty amazing, especially for his age, he was in no way better then his master. Maybe it was something between the two that had caused the comment. Turning back towards the boy, he said with a slightly tight tone though he said the words with enough tack to where the lad could not take any public offense to his words. “You are lucky to have such a master as Miss Varuna, here. True artisans like her are pretty rare, my boy, so you should be grateful for wot she offers to teach you.”

She nodded to his comment, thankful that he wasn't going to try and demand she learn how to enchant her items, or where to get them enchanted. Yich. "Of course, I agree completely." Her body had visibly relaxed, and her nose twitched in modest joy as he continued to compliment her works. It never got old, and no one compliment was worth less to her personally than any other, be it from a random bum on the street or from a world-renowned expert craftsman. She held little biases, so long as it was truly from the heart. Of course, this softer side of her was kept quiet, and she tried to play it off as subtle vanity. "Why thank you, Aderlass. I am happy to see you are so pleased..." This was looking good, and he'd mentioned before that 'we' will want to hit all of 'our' customer's desires... was he already making the decision to hire her in his head?
She cast a sideways glance at the feline smugly relaxing on the stairs, his egocentricity bothered her none, his works could still not compare with hers, for he was young and inexperienced. But one day, he would probably surpass her, if he could keep his head long enough and not get caught up in the glory of being so well known for his works, the compliments, the admirers. Who knew that crafting metal could be so appealing?
Rindal chuckled under his breath, boy was this guy trying to get brownie points, or what? "Uh...huh. She's good, real good, would never say a thing against her. But I'm good too." He stated simply, proudly, meeting Varuna's eyes with an unflinching glance. Though anyone could tell the teen was not her type, he'd meant for the first comment to sound... hinting. He wanted to know as soon as possible what this male's True interest in his companion was, for surely he wouldn't be spending all his time wandering about blabbing on if he just wanted a business partner. Anyone could see from just entering the room that she was worthy. Maybe he was picky? Rindal certainly hadn't heard of him as a famous art dealer or anything so he had no reason to be. The feline couldn't help being suspicious.
Varuna emitted a low huffing growl at his words and shook her head, eyes rolling back and forth in frustration. "Should we discuss business details then?" There, that ought to settle him down. Fussy felines.

He watched the interaction between the two, keeping any thoughts or comments to himself. The feline sure seemed to think a lot of himself for someone who was still close to being a kid.
“Why of course.” He turned his full attention back to the opossum. “Do you have somewhere we can sit and talk things over and set the details . . . Perhaps over a cup of coffee as well?” He did not mean for anything to sound hinting, but a seat and a cup of coffee really did sound more tempting then standing here. He had spent most of the day walking around as well.
He was more than interested to have both Miss Varuna and her Rindal’s works to be displayed in his gallery-shop. Something he hoped they would both want as well. It sure would make this easier.
Looking at the feline, “I assume you will want to be in the discussions as well.” He did not say this to mean that he had thought to not include the male, but rather in hopes of having the male feel more involved and as much a partner is this enterprise as Varuna . . . though from his speeches he did not need the ego boost.

She felt a little irritated that she had to treat Rindal like the child he was in everyone else's presence, he was really quite fine when there were no males around, but the second one showed up... this. It was embarassing on her part, how professional did squabbling and glaring at each other make them look in the eyes of a potential business partner? Foolish. Luckily, it didn't seem to dissuade the brightly coloured male from settling into the details, and her feet started moving before her mind caught up.
"Yes, I certainly do. Right over here, it's not large, but it's private." In a small nook just around the corner of wall to the right, there was a table set and ready to be used, crafted by the vermin female herself, which explained the curved legs and chiseled-in detail of the woodwork. She hadn't mentioned this yet, but she'd tried Rindal's new craft as well, just once, and had only this antique-looking table to show for it. In reality she'd finished it only two weeks prior so it was anything But antique.
"Rindal, mind getting that coffee?" She asked, her voice a little more thin and commanding then she'd meant it to be, but he was trying her patience. She perched up on one of the seats comfortably, she'd made them a little wide to either accomodate animal forms, or biped/human forms (though they'd find it to be more like a throne than a seat).
Rindal watched the interaction with interest, the guy was certainly persistant. Well, if it was really what Varuna wanted then perhaps he should show more interest. After all, his specialties would be necessary. "Sure." He said simply, eyeing them both as he went farther into the little corner room to start up the coffee press that Varuna had made them. It was quick and efficient, though they hadn't figured out a way to exclude a kettle from the whole process. He hated the sound of the kettle boiling for some reason.
"I don't suppose you already have a spot picked out for your shop that you could take me to at some point, would you Aderlass?" She asked curiously as they waited for the coffee. She was still incredibly nervous about leaving her home, but she'd managed to calm herself significantly. In fact, in mere hours Aderlass had seemed to put her into a strange social comfort zone that normally took days. Perhaps it was his initial rebuttal that had soothed her, a kindred soul, he was no stranger to good old sarcastic humour.
That, and, why try and rile someone up when it didn't work anyway?

He took his seat as Rindal went over to the counter, appearing to not be completely pleased with having been given an order though he complied readily enough.
“I do indeed have a place picked out already. With the help of a friend I was able to purchase it. We are currently working on small internal details to get the gallery-shop open for business. I would say at the rate we are going it should be ready for its opening within the next month or two.” He replied to her question, hoping to calm her nerves. “I would be more then willing to take you there sometime and you are always welcome to stop by whenever you feel like it.”
He hoped that the coffee was going to be ready soon. Just the smell of it had him pining for it.
“The details of our arrangement would be quit simple too, I assure you. I will host some of your works in my store in the Capital for people to see and purchase. The profit will be . . . let’s say sixty for you, forty for the shop?”

Rindal feigned disinterest, but when the concept of money came along, he felt he needed to be included in there as well. "And for me?" He asked, trying to be casual, though the laid back set to his ears spoke otherwise... He simply couldn't help it, Varuna was good and all... but he was just coming into his prime and already better than she had been at his age! For being one born in Corvistowne, he certainly held probably the most insignificant interest in his natural born craft, having instead focussed on what Varuna had to offer. There were enough chemists as it was, but This, this was unique, special, you couldn't just be born into it, really. This was where the money was...
He poured three cups of the hot caffeinated liquid and set aside the somewhat mucky looking extra that had been pressed to the bottom. Varuna sometimes used it for staining in practice for future woodwork. He hadn't tried it yet, the smell made him nauseous. He carried the cups over hurriedly, awaiting his response and ignoring the frustrated groan that Varuna had let out the moment he'd spoken. She let him get on her nerves too easily sometimes.
"I would very much like to familiarize myself with the shop beforehand, just so I'm not going in blind. It'll give me a chance to familiarize myself with the city at the same time." She shrugged, trying to feign confident indifference. The glances upward she gave the male, so nervous and waiting to see some sort of judgemental glance in return, spoke otherwise. Would it really be so different from home? She could set up her gallery in a similar fashion, and so every time she visited, it would be like home... kind of.
The talk of money distracted her, she was much like Rindal when it came to interest in keeping their finances stable. "Sounds good for now. However, if I find my works becomming a source of main income and attraction, I may ask for more. This may or may not happen, I don't know how popular my name will be in an entirely unfamiliar place with actual competition." She thought about this a moment before shrugging and quickly accepting the cup placed before her, one clawed paw bringing it close enough for a testing lick.
