Rhiannon was chewing on her brother's thick ruff, beating against his body with her front paws all while growling, "Stupid, stupid, stupid...!" under her breath. Her ears flipped back slightly, and she froze in place, small wings extended slightly from her landing on the stockily-built Solandrian. She felt her heart sink immediately at Xiven and the older Card's scolding, and released her hold on her sibling, backing away with her head held low to the ground in respect. Now Xiven was mad at her, and she felt terrible.
"Majesty Xiven, Your Majesty..." she said, voice low and faltering slightly. She wanted to cry, and she didn't quite know why. She hated being yelled at, and everyone was such a higher ranking than her! "S-sorry, I'm really sorry for being so loud. I didn't mean to."
She crept backwards until she was closer to the huddling mass of blue, white, and now blue that was Fluffy, looking at the feline with wrinkled brows, ears still lowered slightly. "Are you okay, Fluffy? Do you want me to shave his eyebrows off?" she asked, voice soft with worry and fear. She raised her head slightly, daring to give Xiven a pleading look. If her brother had ruined her friendship with the Queen, she would never forgive him.

He felt more shame than actual pain. He could feel slight pricks from the tips of Rhi's needle-sharp puppy teeth, and a rhythmic beating of her paws, but he whined because he did something bad. Again. Except this time he cared because he'd actually meant to do good. Rhi let him go, but he remained on his back, not wanting to offend the older girl that had come onto the scene. She was already looking at him with a bit of disdain.
He became immediately further distressed to see his sister at the verge of tears. He very much admired his sister, thinking she was just one of the coolest things to ever walk the earth, and now she was crying because of the commotion he caused! ARG! DOES IT NEVER END?! He rolled onto his feet, crawling with his belly touching the floor, and licked her feet. He ignored the semi-foul taste of her Bog heritage and did his best to apologize. He didn't know what to say...

Xiven's ears flattened against her skull. She was just utterly horrified at what was going on around her. She had made a fool of herself in front of her senior, Rhi was freaking out rather nicely, Fluffy was still a mess and the boy was just as freaked out as his sister. Wonderful.
Xiven took a deep breath before shaking her head and sighing. "I'm sorry this is just... I'm worried about Fluffy not being all right because of this. I mean he strapped a tail on her and I don't think it's going to come off now if she can move it like that."
And it was burn your eyes bright blue. On her white and purple cat. "What do I do to find out if she's okay Lani. I... I'm really at a complete and utter loss on this one." So much for problem solving skills. Then again it's not every day an Ace gets a bright blue tail.
She decided to not directly address Rhi at the present and went over to Fluffy, nudging her carefully under the chin. "Relax," she muttered to the feline.

Fluffy watched all of this chaos go on and just buried her head in her arm, wanting it all to go away. She peeked out again when she heard Rhiannon say her name, wide midnight eyes regarding the girl with worry and fear. But she was being sweet, and she sounded as scared as Fluffy felt, so the feline felt justified in leaning forward to give her nose a little nudge. She didn't know what was going on, but it would be okay. Right?
...right?
Xiven told her to relax and she just went limp against the girl, letting it all melt away as best she could. Her owner was here. Her owner would take care of her. She could leave this in Xiven's hands and the other feline would tell her what to do to make things okay, whether the blue tail stayed on or came off. Whatever her owner said was the right thing to do.
Watching the drama unfold all around her, Lani sighed and closed her eyes for a minute, willing the annoying children to be gone when she opened them. When that didn't work, she gave a small grimace and ignored the two small ones to look at Xiven. "If it was some sort of magical item, which it certainly looks like, your best bet is probably to talk to Uncle Bernard or another mage. Even a Corvie might be able to help you out, but they'd probably poke and prod at her and scare the hell out of her first. Uncle's your best bet."

Rhiannon's ears perked slightly when Fluffy gave her the little nudge, finding herself calming under the influence of the feline's magical scent. She spoke very quietly, as much to herself as to the Ace. "We'll make sure you're ok, Fluffy. I promise." she gave the feline a small nudge with her nose, looking at Xiven with worried eyes. "I bet we can even dye it to match if it's okay."
All in all, she was getting more and more anxious as time went by. She had never even seen Lani before, and the young Queen was as beautiful as she was clearly demanding of respect. Rhiannon had never been so painfully aware of her own rank as she was now, surrounded by two Queens and her own ("CLUB!", a part of her brain screamed) Jack brother. All the same, she saw a chance to shine in all of this.
"Excuse me, m'lady?" she said, referring to Lokelani with her head held submissively low. "Hadrian and I could go ask our mom what it did... Since he did steal it from her... If you think it could help Fluffy." She was just hoping that they could get through everything without Xiven or Fluffy getting mad at her because of something her brother did.

He felt her anxiety growing and continued nuzzling and licking her feet trying desperately to do something right in this situation. His tail gave a flop. His sister said something smart again. Asking mom was a very good idea. Rhi had come up with a very good idea. She was so smart. He looked up at her, but staying low to the ground. All of them were doing much better than he was. Maybe Hearts were better than Clubs? But Mommy always said that wasn't true, and Mommy knew so much. Everything! All of them were also girls, and he was a boy. Maybe it was because of that...?
However, going to Bernard sounded much more appealing to him than going to Mom. He'd seen Bernard around and thought he looked like a very nice man, despite how beaten up he looked. He didn't seem like he'd get as angry as Mom who... was a very strict disciplinarian.
He wanted to help, but something told him to just shut up, so he just nodded, indicating he still wanted to make things right.

Well. Gee. Bernard of Heilyn. Both were probably busy. Fluffy was still rather upset, and Lani was still going to be a snot regardless of the situation. Something had to be done though.
"We need to tell Miss Heilyn that... the tail was stolen and put on Fluffy at least. I think... I think everything will be fine if we wait a little bit before we see Bernard. I don't want Fluffy to be any more traumatized then she is now." Xiven's tail twitched uncomfortably. This was just a nightmare.
"Rhi, do you know where your mother is right now?" Xiven asked. She wasn't even going to glance at Lani. At the moment she had to focus on one person at a time. Then she would come back and fix everything with feather boa later. Not like Lani would ever forget anything of the sort. Oh screw this. Xiven decided to just go with what she thought was the best route of action.

"As if Uncle could traumatize anything," Lani said with a snort, but shrugged. If the girl wanted to wait on seeing what was actually wrong with her pet, fine. Who knew if time would make it better or worse? "I just hope there's not some sort of nasty time limit on that tail, like after a certain amount of hours it turns the rest of her blue or something. That would be a horrible shame. She has the prettiest swirls."
Fluffy stayed relaxed and pressed against her owner, letting the younger girl nudge at her and gently pawing at her in return. There was too much excitement, too much upset, it distressed her. She couldn't even imagine what levels they would have reached if her relaxing scent wasn't currently at work. As the only lower-ranking Card, Rhiannon would be the most affected. It didn't look to be helping the other two much at all, though.
Hesitating a moment she turned her paws silky soft and reached out to gently pet Xiven's side while her attention was focused on other people. That always helped a little bit.

The bat-dog shook her head, her tail sinking at Xiven's question. "I-I'm not really sure... But it shouldn't be too hard to find her." her ears perked, and she glanced over at Hadrian, nudging him slightly until he straightened, giving him an encouraging wag of her tail. "You can fix things," she said quietly, yellow eyes narrowing as she did. "You do want to fix things, right? Even if Mom gets mad at you? It's worth it to make sure Fluffy's safe..."
She knew her power over her brother was a very strange thing that she shouldn't take for granted, but he made it hard not to. He was always by her side, ready to do whatever she asked, and in truth - she loved the attention. She had the lowest rank in her family, and she felt it every time she looked at them. Knowing that her brother would do whatever she asked, regardless of that rank... Well. It gave her a much-needed ego boost.
She looked at Xiven and Fluffy once more, then turned to give Lani one last glance, bowing respectfully. "We'll be back as soon as we find out what it does. C'mon, Hadrian," she set off down the hall towards their mother's quarters, not waiting for her brother to follow. She knew that he would be right behind her. She nosed at Heilyn's door, opening it slowly, and peeking in. "Mom...?"
