His sister nudged him. He shot up and wagged his tail and nodded at her question. "I do! I do!" even if mommy got mad at him, Rhi was right. It would be worth it for Fluffy. His tail wagged at the opportunity to be able to fix things. He nodded respectfully at the girls as he followed behind his sister, almost in the manner of a pet... ~  Heilyn was in a panic. She'd forgotten is was, in fact, her turn to watch over their children and had lost track of them as she became buried in paperwork. She hadn't remembered the door opening... she searched all around the room. She was just looking under the bed when she heard.... Rhiannon's voice. "RHI--" she turned around too quickly, forgetting where she was, and whacked her temple on the underside of the bed. She screeched an obscenity and went to the door. The kids... had gotten in on their own. this meant she probably left the door open, and leaving them an escape. Dammit, she was not meant for the parenting crap. She quickly toned down her intimidating aura for the sake of Rhiannon, the lowest ranked member of their family. "Oh, Rhiannon! Hadrian! There you are! Where did you--" she noticed the way Hadrian was holding himself. He was quiet and his tail was tucked under. Her expression darkened as she looked at Hadrian, "What did you do?" Hadrian whimpered, and begun explaining. Heilyn sat down and rubbed her temples, being careful of the one that was now forming a bruise. "You have got to be kidding me...." This was the last thing her day needed. She sighed an looked up at them, "There is no permanent effects that I know of, other than that thin will not be coming off. Ever. It grants a magical ability of the Card being able to blow a vision-obscuring steam. However, since the wearer is now an Ace, I highly doubt she'll be able to activate it. Go back and explain. I will speak with Peaches. Hadrian, you'll go with Rhi and explain to them what happened, then you'll come straight back here. No distractions." Her voice was stern. Hadrian whined and nodded. |

Xiven ignored Lani's comment and nodded to the pair of children. She knew that Rhi would pull through. She didn't seem the type to fail. Then again, she was still a child. The little Queen sighed as she watched them walk down the hall. At least Heilyn's living quarters weren't all that far.
"Thank you Fluffy," she muttered quietly as she sat down to focus her attention on Lani. "We'll go to Bernard eventually. I know he's not intimidating or anything, but Fluffy can be scared rather easily. And after all of this I don't want to put her through anything else that's stressful. I would be a horrible owner."
She shifted uncomfortably as she waited for their return. Why didn't she just go with them. It probably would have been quicker and she wouldn't have worried. Oh please let everything be all right.

Lani nodded and watched the girl leave with her brother before letting out a long, loud sigh. "Geez, trust kids to mess everything up. If I ever say I want one, just smack me, okay? I give you complete permission." She rolled her eyes and walked a little closer to the Ace, looking curiously at the girl and the tail that was still tucked neatly against her now slightly visible fuzzy belly.
For her part, Fluffy just stayed pressed against her owner, making a tiny 'meer' noise when Xiven thanked her but otherwise not saying anything. Her purr was quiet and mostly from stress. She didn't know what might scare or intimidate her, but she didn't want to do anything that Xiven thought was horrible and she never wanted her mistress to feel like a horrible owner. "Good owner. Xiven is a good owner." If she wasn't, she wouldn't know what to do about this whole situation, and Fluffy trusted her to take care of things like she always did.
An elegant Highland eyebrow raised skeptically at the comment but the Queen didn't say anything, just shook her head. "Just make sure you go see Uncle sometime later, yeah? He's good about stuff like this."

Rhiannon was a completely different person now that she was standing in front of her mother and not the two young and beautiful Queens. Her tail was raised slightly, a small act of defiance that both the older coyote and her sibling would clearly recognize. It seemed to say, "Yes, mother, I'll go tell them, but I'll be back whenever I damn feel like it, thank you very much." With her brother standing beside her like a dutiful pet, she only felt more self-inflated, and she smiled ever-so-slightly.
In a way, the girl was relieved. Though the tail was quite ugly, it wouldn't hurt her. They could probably even have it dyed to match the rest of her fur, or at least white so it matched somewhat better.
"Okay, mom. Don't even worry about a thing, you have lots of work to do. We'll be back before you know it. Promise." her tail was starting to wag, her yellow eyes glinting with the thought of a day without supervision. "I can fix Hadrian's mistakes." she left the room rather abruptly with only the thought that her brother would follow her every move, not wanting to wait for the scolding that she knew would be coming. She would get hell for it later, she knew, but how much later was still a question. As she returned to the small gathering, Fluffy's calming scent filled her nose, and she felt herself calming once again.
All the same, she was quick to explain everything that her mother had told her.

Oooh, that girl. Heilyn did not want to use her Aura against her own daughter, but she needed to nip this snippy little attitude of hers down before it escalated into something far worse. She had been lucky to have not been afflicted as badly as others in the Bog were. It was beginning to look as though Rhi was not so...
Hadrian, on the other had, was a sniveling little mama's boy, submissive to nearly everyone. That, too, will change if Heilyn had anything to say about it.
I can fix Hadrian's mistakes.
No, dammit. this was part of the problem. He had to fix his own mistakes or he'd never learn. But the little bitch had left without another word. She would tell Hadrian that he had to talk, but as soon as they were out of her control, she knew the first thing he will do was roll over to whatever whim Rhi had decided on at that moment. She waved Hadrian out of the room and he went to follow them.
As soon as they were gone, Heilyn got up and went over to where Seth was, on their bed, drunk and stoned, and cuddled up next to him, the scent of alcohol and Magic fingers washing over her.
"Is it too late to abort?"

Xiven nodded. To everything. So as far as anyone knew there wasn't an immediate danger. She didn't have to go to Bernard right away. She gave a sigh of relief. "Okay, that... thank you for telling me. Just... never do this again. As in, please never ever touch anything that doesn't belong to you."
She nudged Fluffy lightly on the neck before turning to Lani. "I'll see Bernard as soon as I can manage." Xiven gave a small nod to Lani before ushering Fluffy away. "Goodbye everyone."
And now she didn't have to deal with people for the rest of the day. Oh thank the sky above. Now she could stop feeling like an idiot. She growled at herself for being such an idiot. Some nudged open the door, letting Fluffy go first. Her studies could wait for today. Screw those bloody tutors and their egos.

Fluffy stood and went where Xiven nudged her, back to their room and so grateful for it that she was just about ready to cry. She'd abandoned a lot of her worry, yes, but all the tension just left her feeling so drained and unhappy that she wanted to curl up in her cat bed and make it all go away with a nap or something like that. She looked at her owner, down at the tail now attached to her rump - it had been so weird walking with it attached, something that felt like it shouldn't be there but at the same time made walking easier somehow, more fluid - and then just crawled into her bed and curled into a ball. Dark eyes were open and watching Xiven through the cloud of fluff around her.
Lani nodded in return as the other Queen left with her pet. "Yeah, whatever. Goodbye and good luck with your pet. I'm just glad that tail isn't going to mess her up besides being a giant blue eyesore on her rump."
She turned to the two children and raised an eyebrow. "So. Valuable lesson here, huh? Boy, don't stick things on other peoples' butts. It's just plain stupid. Girl, keep your Club of a brother on a leash, huh? At least one of you got some sense from your mom. Geez..." Muttering, she walked away.

Rhiannon watched Xiven and Fluffy leave, her expression and tail falling slightly, though it was still wagging from side to side. She knew she had done the right thing, but... They were still leaving, and that made her feel somehow sad. She never wanted to see Xiven leaving her like that again, she decided, and she glanced back at her brother, yellow eyes holding a feral glint. Before she could pounce, however, Lokelani turned to them, and she turned the movement into another low bow.
She might not be purple like Xiven was, but Rhiannon still had a great deal of respect for the other Queen. She was awfully pretty, wasn't she?
"A leash? Really?" her eyes lit up, smile reappearing. Finally, someone who agreed with her. And her mother wouldn't be able to complain, as these were instructions straight from a Queen! Well, she might not have a position in the courts yet, but she was still a Queen, and that meant her orders needed to be very strictly followed. "I think I can manage that."
She nudged her brother, nipping his ear softly. "Let's go, Hadrian. What do you think of spikes?"

Hadrian listened as his sister spoke. She was just so strong in the way she carried and projected herself! He admired her. She was just going to be so pretty and he just knew he would accomplish her goal of becoming the Presiding Queen of the World. He hung his head as the two Queens said their last words to him. Then his sister spoke up. He gave and whining growl at the sound of a leash. A leash would stop him from doing wanted but... spikes...? He perked up immediately.
"REALLY?!" My Gods, this wasn't punishment or ownership! This was a reward! "Deal!" he snagged the opportunity, completely oblivious of the ramifications of allowing his 6 sister to drag him around on a leash. Spikes or no. He nipped her cheek back (though a little on the rough side, silly Solandrian) and wagged his tail. He then followed along behind her, nipping at her tail as they walked.
