There was only one reason why Zane was actually in the Outer Bazaar was because of Asha. He wrapped his arm in hers as he led her to the proper shop. Why was he even doing things? Oh right, he was the only willing to do this because everyone else was busy. He did love his little sister and all, but this was a generally creepy place. He opened the door and peered around at the dirty shop. Zane was more than thankful that Asha couldn't see. He imagined that she would probably back out of this entire thing if she saw the state of this dusty store. Dad would have a conniption if he found out... and what would Mom and Miss Kel say? He honestly didn't want to know. "Hello?" He called as clearly as he could manage. At least his voice didn't catch in his throat. He looked back to the young girl that he was still holding on to. His hand was wrapped around hers. "Are you sure you're up for this Asha?"

Asha was excited. She clung to Zane's arm as he led her down the streets, stepping carefully as he instructed. She wanted to look her best for the mysterious man that she'd heard could give her a full and beautiful mane, and having bleeding feet from mis-stepping certainly wouldn't help her with that. As it was, she had brushed her fur and put on her favorite lavender sun dress, and refused to leave until she was sure she looked proper. She beamed up at Zane, knowing that the expression would at least help him feel more secure. She had always loved to play with manes when she was younger, first with her father's, and then with Mori's when she was a little younger. The prospect of having one of her own, even if all she could do was run her hands through it and take her family's word for how it looked on her was worth travelling through this stinky place that was making her brother nervous, and worth every penny that it would cost once they arrived. As they stepped in, Asha raised her short muzzle, sniffing slightly at the air of the shop. It smelled dingy inside, but beneath the smell of dust, Asha could make out a much more pleasant aroma, one of perfumes and similar products, and she smiled. " Of course. You're with me, what can go wrong?[/b]" she had every little bit of faith in her brother that if something happened, he would be able to protect her with ease.

The air felt heavy and thick in the shoppe, though mostly on the right side, looking at the door, one might suspect that it connected to the store next to it...the heat and rather good small seemed to be coming from that direction. The hello, seemed to herald a response as there were thumping noises coming closer to the door on the right and the door swung open. A tall, gloomy looking Bipedal Wolf moved smoothly into the room, staring at his customers as he moved over to them. A rather nice smell, of baking...pastries, flooded through the door before it fell heavily shut once more. "Good afternoon, sir. What can I be helpin' you wiff today?"The Biped murmured, wondering at the fact that so many people with pet Aces were visiting as of late...he was attracting higher-up custom, that was sure...probably thanks to that little Queen.

The smells were actually comforting for the sparrow. He half raised an eye ridge as he watched the biped wolf come in. He didn't look friendly but he owned the shop, obviously.
Zane cleared his throat. Now it was time to pretend his sister really wasn't his sister just so things weren't weird. People not thinking Aces were people was just so very complicated. "If you could manage, Asha here wants to grow a mane. I imagine it should be just a little above shoulder length. It doesn't have to be styled or any specific color."
He wondered briefly if Asha would make any sounds of protest. Even if she did have a mane she wouldn't really know what color it was. Personally Zane had no idea why she would want a mane if she could only feel it. He mentally shook the thoughts off. This was what she wanted, he was here because of that.

The scents that wafted in were beyond amazing, and the skunk found herself taking a deep breath of them. Her tail waved from side to side, and a happy smile found its way onto her face. Maybe once she had her mane, she could resume looking for a job again... When the man entered, she bowed very low. He had an interesting smell about him, not bad, just very masculine. She kept quiet as Zane spoke, holding her head low out of respect for the man. Having her brother here with her was a very good thing, even if she couldn't let on that he was her brother.
She nodded once Zane had finished, trying to focus on keeping her milky eyes cast downward. He seemed to be able to read her mind when it came to what it was that she wanted. "If it's not too much trouble, sir... I'd really appreciate it.[/b]" she spoke very softly, voice quite demure from what Zane would normally be used to from her. She didn't want to offend the man at all, especially since he was the one who would be making her beautiful. She knew how people felt about Aces that stepped out of line, and she would fit the bill of being either a high-class pet or servant if it was required of her.

Mr. Todd let a grin slip. The man was polite and the Ace well behaved...even if it did know how to speak. That was unnerving but...she seemed to know her place. Moving forward he nodded and made his way by them to his table, pulling out a small assortment of combs and two tiny pots of liquid.
"Very well, I can do that, no problem. Once I see the money, I'll get started."
He turned back to them, palm out and waited for the Sparrow mix to pay him...was the bird part bat? He certainly was a mix or more than one Realm..striking, but the colors would have more behooved a lady. The Ace also looked like a mixed Realm, at least two, and her face was oddly short.
Her eyes though...they were what caught him, milky and blank...poor thing wouldn't even be able to see what it was he could do for her...shame...Aces...

Zane pulled the proper amount of money out and handed it to the man. Asha had been saving it for so very long. It was a pity she couldn't hand the money to the man. Aces were people, or at least Asha was a person. She deserved to be treated like one but... that wasn't going to happen.
He led her to the chair, making sure that she was safe and secure. Really he was being over paranoid. Everything would be fine as long as she got her hair done. Then they could just leave and go home. Then Zane could go back to work. Or he got to stay home with Asha and wait for Ez. Talking him out shopping for a birthday present or something like that.
He hung back in a different part of the shop and waited for the whole thing to be over. Before moving he squeezed Asha's hand to reassure her that he was around. It was a good thing she wasn't as terrified as Eilwyn over things.

Asha gave the man a small, polite, and completely overjoyed smile, then accepted the sparrow's hand and took his lead to the chair. It was moments like this that she was quite happy to have a biped form, and she slipped into the chair with as much grace as she could manage, bundling her tail up and holding it in her arms, draped partially across her lap to help keep it out of the man's way while he worked. It was so huge and fluffy, she had to work extra hard to keep track of it.
Asha wasn't even aware of the fact that she was still holding Zane's hand until he squeezed hers and then moved away, and then she glanced in the direction of his footsteps. She couldn't help but feel at least a little nervous, and it was one of the times that she wished she could see to know what was going on. She could smell something, but she didn't have even the foggiest of idea of what it could be.
As she settled fully into the chair, she turned to the direction she thought that the man - was he in a biped form? she could smell canine, and with the sound of his footsteps, he must be - was standing, giving him another bow of her head. "Thank you, sir.[/b]"

Once the Ace was situated, Mr. Todd reached over and grabbed the smaller of the two pots, it was clear and there was a blue liquid inside.
He uncorked it and murmured to the Ace.
"I'm going to put a bit of potion between your ears, little miss, 'old still now."
Pouring a small amount onto the Skunk's head, he began to rub it into the fur delicately. She would feel a very strange tingling sensation as the root of her scalp fur began to grow out. His fingers dug in a little rougher as the hair grew out longer.
The mane was growing out to be a lovely red to match the fur on her belly and chest, as it became longer, he could see it even had some spots down by the ends..Kahmden, then.
When the Ace thanked him, the Wolf repressed a shudder. Really, who taught their Acres to talk? It was unnerving, some Aces could speak a little, he knew, like that little Fluffy...cute pet she could mimic a few phrases but this Skunk...she could speak... He didn't like it at all. He didn't let on though and continued to rub the solution into her scalp.
After a few moments, he reached out for the other pot, pouring it gently onto the hair and grabbing one of his smaller combs. He began to comb the second solution deftly through the new mane, making it straight, long, and silky. He wouldn't charge anything extra for it...if the little miss couldn't see the hair...at least she could feel something nice.
"Awrigh' I've got it grown out, m' juts going to cut it now. 'Old still, please."
Mr. Todd suddenly whipped out a straight-bladed razor, long and sliver it caught the light and looked very sharp. He brought this to the ends of the Ace's hair and began snipping away until it was shoulder length, he then layered it a little at the ends.
Spinning the chair toward the Sparrow and giving him a rather flat look.
"Ow's that look...sir...?"

Zane watched contently. He shifted on his feet as he quietly waited. Then Mr. Todd whipped out the razor blade. If the sparrow had feathers on his wings they would have been standing straight up. Instead he simply watched wide eyed as the man cut the hair away.
For a moment he stared as at his sister when she was spun around. He was surprised at the bright red hair that was her new mane. A smile crossed his beak as he nodded, "She looks fantastic. Thank you." Zane gave a small sigh of relief as he walked over to Asha. He took her hand in his and helped her out of the chair.
He just hoped she wouldn't thank the man. Not many people were fond of Aces being able to communicate. He didn't seemed to be bothered by all of it, but then again... Zane was a paying customer with a pet Ace. He probably should get out as soon as possible.
Trying to hurry Asha was one thing though.
