He wiggled his nose at her before leaning in to steal a kiss when she nuzzled his muzzle.
“Well then, mon cherie, I shall just have to be your mon nounours then.” he said with a nod. He really did enjoy the nickname. Next time the Leveret came for an appointment he would have to make sure she got his thanks for the suggestion to his Doe.
When she brought herself into more of a sitting pose, her paws resting on her stomach, his eyes darkened. He had no words for just how pleased it made him that his children were currently nesting there just waiting for their time to enter his world. Each day that she showed a little more he felt himself grow with more and more pride.
Getting an idea he took another sip of his tea before putting it down on the table before them. Turning so that he was fully facing her he gathered her in his arms; bring her forward till she rested on his lap. “Tell me, mon cherie, is there anything that the Healer said you were not allowed to do?” He asked with a mischievous grin.

Eli kissed him in return, loving the taste of him combined with the tea. She always felt silly around him, but often the expression of those feeling was rewarded with affection... so it was less silly whenever he did things like that, humored her small attempts at being forward. She was who she was, and the fact that he loved her for it just made her even more sure that no one else would do. If a Jack ever had less to fear about a Doe leaving him, she didn't want to meet that person, because they couldn't possibly be real unless they were dead.
She moved with his hands and arms, settling so that she was looking up at him, warm fur pressed against his coat.
His tone made her smile, especially with what it implied. She was a bit less the blushing maiden now about intimate moments like this one, but not by much. At least she could think about it without becoming horribly embarrassed now. "Well, she told me to stay away from meat... which I would anyway, because... bleh. There are certain kinds of teas she prescribed in case my stomach gets worse. I should stay away from too much manual labor. However, she did tell me to stay active until it was uncomfortable to do so... and she winked at me." That, more than anything, tinged her cheeks with pink again.

“Well that does all sound like very sound advice and should be easy enough to comply to.” He replied giving her a smile as he ran one hand down her neck.
After the initial few weeks her morning sickness seemed to have faded though every now and then his precious Doe did seem to become ill. The teas sounded like a blessing for that. He did not want her suffering in the least, not with such a precious task that she was doing for him right now.
With the arm that he had run down her neck he brought it to rest on top of her belly gently, one arm wrapped around her lower back to help support her. “And she did, did she?” he asked regarding her last comment enjoying the small blush that she gave. She did not blush as often as she had before, though it was still a pretty common occurance and one he still took delight in.

The months went more quickly than Eli expected them to, with the queasy feeling tapering off to nonexistence after a little while and her stomach getting slightly rounder at the sides. Her pregnancy showed, but it wasn't anything alarmingly large. She couldn't imagine more than two children fitting in there, but there may well have been three, or just one slightly larger one. The doctor told her she was probably going to have two after a few minutes spent carefully feeling at her stomach. When the day finally came, it wasn't day. It was, inconveniently enough, the middle of the night. She stayed in her bed for as long as possible, trying to tell herself that it wasn't happening yet, it was just a false alarm, but after an hour laying in the dark and panting as small contractions began slowly turning into larger ones, she was forced to admit there wouldn't be any helping it and crawled out of bed to go find a Leveret. Somhan or Bianca would know where to find the doctor... after all, the woman had said she would stay closer to their warren since she was so close and it was her first litter, not to mention Leon's. Everything had to go smoothly. A few hours later and it did. When the sun had been in the sky for a scant two hours, there were two teeny tiny bundles of squirming fuzz in front of her and she carefully licked them clean. The doctor had left to go tell her Jack that everything was okay and his children had been delivered safely. His daughters! There were no Does, true, but the Leveret had confirmed that they were both female and in good health as far as she could tell. One was clearly pure Mid-range and the other's dark blue swirls on a gray backdrop marked it as a mix, even more clearly than the beautiful tufts of blue hair sprouting from her head and down along her back. |

Leon rushed through the hallways in a hurry to make it to his Does side. Why had not been told before hand that his Eli had gone into labor and delivered his children. He was a father now. It was both a humbling though as well as a great stroke to his ego. Making his way into the room he calmed his outward appearance enough to be able to walk to her bed. Reaching it he stared down at his two new children . . . well they really looked more like two balls of fur then anything else. Sitting down besides her, all he could do was simply stare at them in surprise. He reached forward with a paw to pet each one before pulling it back. They were so small and he was afraid that he would hurt them. “Mon amour they are simply beautiful,” He cooed at them before pressing a kiss to her brow. “How are you feeling?” he asked, wrapping his arms around her, needing to hold her. He could hardly believe it; both of them were simply beautiful. |

Exhausted but happy, Eli finished grooming the pair in time for her Jack to arrive. She saw him and her tired face just lit up, eyes never leaving him as he approached and stared down at the children. He was young himself, though not quite as young as his Doe... and she was so lucky to be the first to bear him children. Especially daughters. They would be much more valuable when it came right down to it.
A small part of her just melted when he spoke, using a nickname she'd never heard him use before. Whatever it meant, from the way he said it, she just knew she would like it. Her eyes closed happily when he kissed her and held her close, shifting so that nothing was pressing too hard against certain parts of her that were still exceedingly tender. "I'm better now that you're here. It hurts a little bit, but nothing awful. And now you have two beautiful baby girls for the warren. One of them has your colors, just darker..." The other looked like she assumed she had as a baby, a little Mid-Range Leveret. She would have to give them their cuts sometime soon since both of them had it in them.
Whichever Leveret was assigned to take care of them, she'd have to make sure that she told them more about her region as well, and what they would need to do whenever the children were guilty of something and started to bleed. It wouldn't do to have them accidentally die through lack of knowledgeable care, not at all.

He loosened his grip of her just long enough to allow her to shift so that she was more comfortable. Once she was done he wrapped his arms back around her, letting her rest against him. Running one hand through her long mane he was silent as he stared down at them before her words sunk in. “That is good to hear, mon amour. It would not be any good if you were in pain.” If she had been any more then sore he was going to words with the nurse to explain just why that was so. She was now his most prized Doe, after all.
“Wait? Both of them are female?” He asked a little surprise. He was going to have their sex checked but it has not passed his mind just yet. This was his first Breeding and they were both female. The only way he could have been better blessed would have been if both of them had been Does, but Leverets were not all that bad. There was always still the chance that they could become Does, much like Eli had.
Recovering from the shock of the words he stared down at them with tender eyes again. “They really are beautiful. Just like their mother.” he said resting his chin against the top of her head.

Eli relaxed more and more against him, her eyes going half-lidded as he ran fingers through her mane and stroked her fur. How utterly wonderful. She'd always dreamed that she might be able to give him children, and now here they were, their first litter, and he was treating her with love and affection and everything else that got through to her and made her want to cry with happiness. A few small tears did manage to leak their way out of the corner of her eye, from the stress of it all and the overwhelming sense of relief and joy.
"Two little Leveret girls, according to the doctor," she agreed, voice almost a whisper. It was such a close moment, she couldn't bring herself to raise her voice.
And then he looked at her like that, as if he was looking through her, and called her beautiful. She swallowed hard and kissed his neck, smiling. "What does 'amour' mean, Leon?"

He nodded against the top of her head his eyes closed. This was such a precious moment. The pride of seeing his brand new babes, both female leverets at that, and the relaxing feeling of his Doe being held in his arms, all of it as almost more then he could take in.
Feeling her relax more and more against him he glanced up to look at the Leveret, giving a motion of his head he called it over to them. “Mon amour, how about we let the Leveret take them for now? You need to rest some more and I am sure that the babes still need to be seen to.” He said gently, rubbing one of his hands down her side. She would be allowed to see them when she had free time, though the raising of them would very much be left to the Leveret that was assigned to the task.
He touched one hand to each of the babes, giving them each a fond caress, letting Eli say her farewell for now as she would. After the Leveret had gathered up both bundles, and giving a bow left the room, Leon readjusted himself so that he was lying down besides her. Pulling her once again into his arms he nuzzled her nose before replying to her question.
“ ‘Mon amour’ means ‘my love’ “ He replied giving a fond nudge to her ear. “Now you should rest.” He chided gently, tapping her on the nose. “I am sure that you are more then tired after your ordeal and you can not heal quickly unless you rest. So sleep now.” He continued to run his hands up and down her side, his movements possessive.
