He arched his brow at the look on the other boy's face, he didn't believe him? Wasn't that foolish! Or was the boy one of those whose mind was touched, like his mother had said about grandmother Moraira? It was possible, but did they come of seeming.... normal? Cause the boy certainly did, in a way. Then again, what part of Morpheus' life could be considered normal in any way, shape or form? Then again, he supposed, normality was really entirely based upon opinion and thus, it's definition, like the one of perfection, was simply a variable that one shouldn't put any weight into. In conclusion, normal had no solid definition.
As the boy introduced himself though, he moved over a bit and casually approached his delightful, silken bear and picked it up gently by the ears and it brought it back to set it down in front of the sphere of the looking glass, finding some amount of nerve from the stuffed creatures presence. It was a delightful little toy, finely crafted of only the best materials and the claws, oh the claws were the best part! Real bone, wasn't that just... nifty?
He was completely at ease now that the other had submitted to his demand and even gave the other boy a crooked little smile as his fur began to sit down against his body again. It was his turn, wasn't it? His voice had an assertive ring to it, but that was to be expected from a young Queen wasn't it?
I am Morpheus, and you will call me that... .Mia.
He eyed him a bit closer now, his bindings didn't bother the boy, nor did his feminine name, his colors, however, were the most entertaining aspect of the Jack, his mind unsure as to what combination of areas could have possibly produced such a fascinating coat. He had never actually seen any other coat besides that of a lowlander's before, but he'd been taught and had, eventually, formed ideas of the patterns in his mind.
I still must argue with you on that aspect Mia, I do not think that your are touched, or insane if you'd rather, but more.... gifted? if you can see into my mother's head. Props on getting through the thickness of his skull.
The boy had, at first, sounded strictly professional and intelligent but his tone slipped into a playful sort of teasing at the end as he offered his mother a look. The rat, whom had been listening to the boys and looking rather pleased, gave the young weasel cross a rather nasty look in return, he certainly did not like being teased much less in front of strangers in his own realm. The fact remained however, that Osias was impressed with the young Jack's ability and would have to seek him out and learn more. Curiosity had never killed the rat in those sayings....
Mo turned his attention back to Mia and then up at the circular window type gate between them.
What do you know about this .... curiosity?

Mia was completely taken aback by the sudden appearance of the teddy bear. A stuffed bear, for real? Did this child, this Queen, truly need an imaginary creature to help it cope? Yes, he was some years younger than Dysthymia, but Mia had never needed nor wanted one; though that could be in part because his mother had discouraged them all from becoming too attached to material things. His mother, while she was usually overblown and annoying, did teach him a few useful things once in a while.
This, combined with the boy's age, made the ferret want to raise an eyebrow and snicker at him when he began speaking. Morpheus--interesting hame, that--spoke as though he was the Queen of the Courts and commanded ultimate respect though he couldn't be more than 10. Queens deserved respect in general, that was true and Mia would adhere to that under any circumstance.. but how much of that could he really, honestly, give to a small boy that had been birthed into the rank? Morpheus hadn't even had time to understand what it meant to be a Queen! Mia was a Jack, and therefore not too far down the scale; often enough his mother had treated him as though he were a two, and he had become adjusted to being treated more by his age than his rank. Clearly, Morpheus hadn't.
Gifted? How was it a gift to see into people's minds unwillingly? Thoughts were private things, not meant to be shared unless their owner desired to, and while they entertained Mia greatly some days, in total he wished he could just be rid of it entirely. "Gifted is not the word I would have chosen." He stated, then continued. "The fact that I can see into your mother's head is not what I think myself insane for, but the fact that you see me, speak to me, as if you are completely... real." Had the ferret stated this firmly it could have been misconstrued as almost offensive--it wasn't nice to question someone's existance--but instead he had spoken softly and obviously unsure of himself, as he had before.
"Curiosity? The glass?" Abruptly Dysthymia realised that Morpheus likely didn't see Mia the same way Mia saw him; Mia was looking into the magnifying glass but Morpheus was looking out of it. "It is no curiosity--it is a magnifying glass. I... can see with reflective surfaces. Do you see the round rim of it?" Why Mia felt he could trust Morpheus with this knowledge, he was unsure; but what could one small, possibly-imaginary boy do?

A frown tugged slightly at the corners of his maw as the boy seemed to continue to deny his existence. Just how many 'people' did his mind make up that he talked to for him to quite blatantly deny his very real existence? It simply made no sense to him, no sense at all. His parents had the ability to come and go, Osias to and fro the 'real' world, and Finistris from his own prison to his son's.... could no one do that? Seriously? That was kind of... cool.
Brightened by his own thoughts he carefully clicked his own claws against his bears and listened to Mia speak, he wasn't all that bad to talk to when you set aside the whole thought of someone else thinking you're a hallucination. Besides, how many visitors did he get? He wanted this to be somewhat fun, and interesting and.... perhaps father would know what was going on? He severely doubted his mother did ....
Whatever you wish to call it I guess you could....but I think it would be kind of... neat really.
His ears stood fully erect and forward when he began to explain the looking glass, except not in near enough detail to satiate the youth's curiosity.
What would happen if I.... touched it?.
And with that he tilted his head to the side, his expression nothing but inquisitive as he eyed the circular expanse again.

Dysthymia snorted in amusement as a response. Morpheus might find it amusing, as Mia had initially, but gradually the level it took for things to remain funny had risen. At this point he only started giggling at someone's thoughts if they were mentally doing something they really, really shouldn't; the last time it had happened he'd caught a guard imagining Lysaras naked.. the idea was faintly revolting to the ferret, but amusing when he'd asked the guard what he thought of Lysaras.
The man had blushed like no other and started stammering.
Now, Mia wasn't cruel--just looking for entertainment. He'd asked him a few questions about Lysaras' policies, and then simply left.
But back to the here and now. Touching it? Absently the ferret reached out and put a claw on the very, very outer rim of the glass, and was careful not to move it. "I can touch it. I don't know if you can."
Somehow Dysthymia doubted that Morpheus would be able to; they weren't exactly.. in the same realm. Or whatever.

He watched as the ferret touched the strange area, no, it had a name now didn't it? A magnifying glass, that's what the boy had called it. What an odd name really, did it magnify other planes of existence or... something? If it did it was certainly a curious contraption that the youth would have to investigate should he ever find one. And, well, here it was doubtful that he would. But then again father had said they'd both be free one day, didn't he? And mother was sure they would be as well, he'd find one then! Yes, and he was sure there were much more fascinating things out there as well, it was sure to be full of unknowns.
Well, that was mildly disappointing. Nothing had happened when the other boy touched it but he wasn't exactly like Mia now was he? He edged closer, wrapping his tail around the bear and reached out a clawed paw to touch further away from the edge then Mia had and his eyes widened a bit as a delightful, but unexpected tingling sensation ran down his arm from his toes and a soft rippling effect branched out from where he had touched. He retracted his paw, giving Mia quite the delightful look.
Did you see that too?
Osias, who had been quietly watching the whole exchange, was suddenly very interested. He remembered his promise to Finistris, one he intended fully upon keeping, and a small amount of hope sprung from what he'd just seen. He moved toward the boys, finally eying the curious spherical window up close. He still said nothing but... he had wanted to be closer. Perhaps this boy could be of help?
He knew it was somewhat foolish to get your hopes up like he was, but if he could get Morpheus out then surely.... surely Finistris could be free as well? The fur at the back of his neck bristled softly at the thought.... that would be delightful.

The ferret watched as Morpheus approached, and leaned forward as the weasel tried to touch it.
His paw merely phased through the object, leaving Mia somewhat confused as to why he was so excited about it. "Sure I did, but your hand just went through it.." To Dysthymia it meant that Morpheus wasn't going to be able to get out; how could you get out of something you just fell through?
Suddenly, he had an idea. He could touch it, obviously; it was on his.. existance level? .. Perhaps he could get in? If he could, that left the question of whether or not he'd be able to get back out.. but really, if his mind was going to trick him into thinking he was in some poor rat's head, it wouldn't really matter if he could get back out or not. "Try.... try touching me? I want to see if this will work.."
Slowly the ferret held out a paw to the magnifying glass, to Morpheus. He was quite surprised when his paw simply.. went through.. what should have been glass, but he didn't feel anything, it was almost as if the glass didn't exist at all.
How was he going to fit through this, if this worked? Oi.

So the ferret hadn't actually seen the whole thing, oh well, it still excited Morpheus and his face remained lit up. This was the most interesting thing to happen to him so far, which spoke volumes on how dull his life could be, but he couldn't help but be excited an intrigued all at once. And, at Mia's suggestion, which he was actually thinking about asking the other boy as well, a smile touched his muzzle. This certainly had every inkling to be even more amazing, but he wouldn't get ahead of himself.
As the ferret raised his paw, the Weasel rat did the same, bringing it forward exactly to the point where Mia's paw was, aiming on touching him and concentrating on doing so as well. This was fun!
And all the while Osias was a looming, watchful figure. His own golden eyes were completely transfixed o the two as he watched and took mental notes, fully intending on going over them with Finistris later, the man simply had to know even if nothing truly spectacular happened, it was just weird really... but then again... it was his mind even if it was slowly beginning to feel as if it really wasn't his anymore.

Mia froze in his spot when their paws touched. Morpheus' paw didn't go through his but touched it as if he were touching someone completely real, and.. existed.
Damn. If this is what crazy people did, he was freakin' good at being crazy.
The ferret just sat there, staring at their paws, until he came to a sudden decision. If he could touch Mo, if he could reach into this.. world of Osias' head.. what was stopping him from completely entering? If he was going to do something wild and stupid, he might as well go all the way and be completely wild and completely stupid. If nothing else, this made for an awesome story he could pretend was a dream.
"If I die, do tell my mother?" He said, mostly to himself, in a thoughtful manner. He then retracted his paw and tilted his head, then said to Morpheus, "I'd move over if I were you," Because he then.. jumped.
Dysthymia never comprehended how his 10-year-old ferret body fit into a magnifying glass that was barely bigger than his paw, but it did, assumably with the assistance of magic. He hit the floor with a loud 'whamp!', and the ring of his binding on his thigh clinked loudly as it connected, but the ferret was in one piece. He was somewhat dazed, as he'd put too much power into the jump, but he was quite awake, and quite amazed that it had actually worked.
Abruptly he realised that if someone moved the magnifying glass he was absolutely and utterly screwed, but there hadn't been anyone around..

As their paws touched his ears came fully forward. How could he touch something that wasn't isn't his realm? It didn't make sense, but it was exhilarating. That was certainly big news and he quelled a squeak of joy that threatened to escape him.
Oh, the boy was saying something? He wanted him to move but... oh! He was going to try and come in and visit him?! Very well, he'd obey for that. The lowlander stepped to the side and out of the way of the sphere, and just in time not to be pounced. He was... he was here! He looked up at his mother a moment with wide eyes, but the rat had a rather unreadable look to his face and Morpheus shifted his attention to the other boy.
Are you.... alright?
He had many other questions bubbly just below the surface but he didn't want to go into a very uncharacteristic, bubbly rant. That first question would be initially enough, but he'd certainly ask more later.
