Ah, no really the pleasure is all mine... Aderlass, Ez.
And she was indeed a cheery one, and she had a grin on her face that didn't appear to be fading anytime soon. She had also nodded her head at each as she spoke there name, a wayward piece of hair falling on the other side of her nose. It didn't really bother her, thus it wasn't fixed. She was a bit distracted though, company always did that to her.
I've only been coming her for a couple weeks, but I'm obviously here often enough to be remembered by the staff.... perhaps that's a bad thing though. She chuckled a bit to herself, not really caring if the boys thought it was funny or not... she got a kick out of it and that was all that mattered really.
She did, indeed, catch the J on the rodent's chest, he seemed to want it to be noticed after all, and that grin of hers broadened. She lifted a front paw to her chest, for dramatics of course, and added a little acting tones into her voice as well.
My, my, am I in the presence of a member of the courts as well? Congrats, either way... I'll pitch in a drink or two as well. She'd just met them, but she was already at ease with her companions for the evening and, well, the seemingly recent up in the rodents rank was a mighty fine excuse for a few drinks.... but then again, when did she ever need an excuse?
As for the reason she was in the bar? It was quite simple really, the canine was a total lush. She just happened to be one of those rare few whose life wasn't all that bad and managed to keep a chipper demeanor about themselves. To put it simply, she liked the taste, and she liked the after effects.

He was not quite sure what to make of the female who sat before him. Glancing towards Ez he raised an eyebrow to see how his male friend was reacting to the female. Ez and himself had been frequenting the bar for years now, though court matters and up coming family had recently downed his number of visits. It had not been too long ago that he had been in here for three weeks straight drowning his sorrows; Whip coming in had been pretty much the only thing that had saved the mouse.
“I am sure you will rise in rank soon enough, my friend. As a matter of fact, you indeed are in the presence of a Court member. Well I guess two really, since Ez seems to be the closes you can get without actually having to take a step inside.” He gave his friend a wink. He sensed that the avian was probably going to take offense so he tried to keep his friend from throttling the female. He was not really in the mood for a bar fight.
“I think I will take you both up on that offer for a drink.”

Ez visibly winced at the woman's statement. Bitch. The sparrow's nails scratched the glass that he was holding. Ader's words made him feel slightly better, but only slightly. He still wanted to punch the woman in the face for being so damn cheery and... GAH!
"A couple of weeks? Funny," Ez said as he took a ship of his watered down beer. He wasn't going to start a fight. They never really lead to anything fantastic anyway. The sparrow called over the barmaid and ordered stronger drinks for him and Ader, the lovely lady could stick with the simpled watered down stuff. She seemed content with that.
Wow he was being quite a bastard tonight. If the sparrow had lips he would have been biting them out of annoyance. His current boy toy had stood him up and apparently that was bothering him more than he was willing to admit. That and Court talks. That dog woman didn't know respect, did she?

She really hadn't meant to be offensive, she really hadn't, but she was beginning to feel more and more unwanted here by the lake lander. Her presence and mannerisms simply seemed to rub him the wrong way and she couldn't help but let a little frown touch her maw. She didn't exactly wish to leave, but she just might end up having to do just that, especially if Ez ended up getting totally plastered tonight, she wasn't sure if he'd be more the angry type, or the cry you a river type with his current... mood.
She scrunched up her nose a bit in thought and took a drink of her, well drink before peering up at the sparrow and focusing on him.
Forgive me, Ez, for offending you. Twas not my intention.
And after a moment of seriousness a very soft grin returned to her maw and she gave a playful wink to him, trying to soften any rough edges of her apology and bring the spirits back up. She was trying, trying rather hard actually, and sh hoped it worked.

"Twas your intention or not you did indeed offend me, kind Lady." The sparrow waved a hand in frustration as his voice was laced with sarcasm. His voice took a more serious tone as he continued, "Minding your manners to some degree is important! Especially when talking about such a sensitive matter as Rank. For all you know I could be related to a very influential Queen. For all you know I could be a heartless bastard plotting to murder a current court member to gain a title. Which is why you should be careful with your words and attitude!"
Ez gave the woman a stone cold sober glare. Cheery or not, she wasn't coming off as the most careful of bar hoppers. The sparrow could think of a few choice words to use for her idiocy. He wasn't going to though. "There's nothing to forgive unless you continue to disregard such sensitive issues as social fodder." With that said the sparrow grabbed his glass and drank the entire thing in one shot.

He called the waiter back over to refill Ez’s glass as well as to get the canine something stronger. He was trying to calm the situation and patch any harm that might have been done.
He reached out to rub the shoulder nearest him of his friends in hopes to put him at ease. Leaning forward he whispered for the bird’s ears alone, “Let me know if you need to switch, Love.” It might be a good thing to put some distance between the two.
Leaning back he gave the canine a smile. “Thank you for the apologies, but I do have to admit with my friend here, if you are going to be spending so much time in the bars – especially – you need to be careful wot you say and how you say it. There are many people from the Courts who come here under disguise and would not take kindly to your teasing in such a way; particularly after a few drinks. My friend here means no harm.”
Seeking to change the situation he asked her, “So wot brings you here this evening?”

Her ears notably lowered, not back and to her skull in an aggressive fashion but more to the sides, flopped and somewhat lifeless, her trademark cheer sucked out of her for the moment. City goers were so... touchy. She lapped at her own drink, not having the luxury of hands like the boys did. She hadn't been teasing, she was simply curious, but she kept that to herself. Someone would surely take offense to that, she was certain, and she really didn't wish to be involved in an argument and simply wrapped her tail around herself.
As Aderlass began a valiant attempt at making things a little less grating her ears merely twitched up slightly higher but they did not return to their resting position. She did, however, manage to look at him without any of the feelings she had breaking into her expression, which was carefully neutral now, her voice even sounded close to what it had been before, but her ears most certainly gave her away.
I haven't been in the city long, and I don't know anyone or really where many things are, still learning the city really. Coming here is generally the brighter part of my day.
She fought the urge to glance at Ez when she said the word generally, it would certainly not due to agitate him further but at this point she wasn't entirely sure if there was any placating the avian.

He nodded his head at her comment. He still remembered when he had first arrived at the Capital, coming for a small town in Morganberry. It had taken him quite a while to learn everything in the streets, though he had spent most of his time traveling around. Not to mention, his job he had gotten from Mnem had helped quite a bit in that aspect.
“The Capital is quite a big place and takes some time to get used to. Though I do have to applaud you on managing to find one of the more important things in the Capital,” he said in a playful tone with a nod towards the bar. “This one is one of the best ones around. Good price too.”
He raised an eyebrow at his male friend to see if he wanted to switch spots or not before turning back to the female. “So wot do you plan on doing, now that you are in the Capital?” Most people came here with a goal in mind and he was interested to see what this female’s might be.

Doot doot doot. Why was he even here in the first place? Ez eyed his drink for a minute as he listened to the canine talk. It was painfully obvious that she didn't know her way around if she was throwing things around like that. Oi, whatever.
The sparrow raised an eyebrow at the mouse when he gave him that look. Changing seats, right. He was doing most of the talking, so he probably should sit closer to the woman. Ezekiel slipped off of his chair with a weak smile and offered his seat to Ader. Once they had both resettled he went to sulking at his drink.
Might as well say something. "I imagine you came to the city with something in mind. If you didn't are you just one of those country excitement seekers?" She just didn't seem like the time to have a plan. But that was just a stereotype, like saying someone from the Lakes was lazy without getting to know them.
