Oh no, here it came. Time for bad things to start happening. Had the Jack caught him lookg for the Does? Did he already know what had gotten him kicked out of his last warren? This just couldn't turn out well, at least not for Mae anyway. He moved closer to the Jack, trying to keep himself just out of striking distance. It figures, his first day, no, first few hours, in the warren and he had already screwed up beyond repair. Graned, the Jack didn't sound pissed, but that wasn't always a good tell.
He sat down on his haunches a few feet away from the Jack, that way he he lashed out, at least Mae could dodge. That little move was something that always pissed off his former Jack, but hey, really now, who wants to get hit? Yes, Sire? e lifted his head, head canted slightly to the side, waiting to hear what the Jack needed to explain to him.

A small twinge of anger rushed through him as the leveret kept his distance. It had obviously been hit before and knew the value of arms length.
"Closer leveret." He said still gentle. "I will not hurt you. . this time." Anubis said again. And it was true, Anubis would never lie outright. He may find a way around the truth but he wouldn't bold-faced lie. He had too much honour for that.
He waited, impatiently for the leveret to approach him. Dammit it hurry up. Anubis rolled his shoulders just a bit, trying to dislodge the tension between them.
Finally, as the pretty golden leveret moved forwards he reached out, slowly. He placed his hands along the line of it's jaws, lifting it's head to him.
"I realize you have much to learn, I will try to keep my anger in line, until I find another leveret. Then perhaps. . we can talk about other things. Things that could happen should you not be needed as a leveret any longer?" His one thumb stroked the side of it's face gently before he pulled back.
"Red wine room temp. White, rose, and ice wine chilled." He waved motioning that the leveret may go back about it's business.
(I assumed stuff to get enough words XD If mae wouldn't get closer let me know and I'll edit)

Crap. He was really going to have to get out of his old habits, they just weren't going to fly around here. He moved closer, sitting at the Jacks feet. At least there wasn't a beating coming, that was always a plus. The hand on his jaw was a bit unnerving, but he would just have to go along with it now wouldn't he.
Mae listened as the Jack spoke, a slightly confused look on his face before it hit him. Oh noes, the Jack wanted him to be a Doe!! What the hell was he supposed to do now? Surely to just come right out and tell him that that just couln't happen was a death sentence. Well, at the very least, that means his former Jack hadn't told this one about his little misadventure and his wondering eye. For the moment, all he could do was nod, trying to find a way out of this, but he knew there really wasn't one. He would just have to go along with it and deal with the advances. Oh dear, this was going to be hard.
He managed to pull his thoughts away from the impending problem and listen to the Jack's instructions. As you wish, Sire. As soon as he was dismissed, he bounded away, taking the remaining dishes with him, straight back to the kitchen.
