About ten hours after taking the last soul, Lior began to feel rather faint and empty, his body shivering and shaking as though he had a fever. He lost consciousness for random bouts of time, falling over and then waking again in odd positions, as though his body had attempted to drag itself away from the place where he had fallen each time.
After the collapses cease, he'll slowly come to realize that he collapsed ten times, once for each soul. He feels exceptionally dead and empty inside, unable to simply retreat into himself as he would normally do. The cloak about his shoulders will slowly begin to writhe... and then dig into his skin, sinking in and crawling under his flesh... and beginning to remove it...
The procedure is painless, but horrifying and Lior will be unable to block any of it out. Ten hours after this starts, a new creature will emerge from under Lior's shed skin.
Rasha.
But what of Lior, himself? A small, skin cloak, empty and hollow, providing no refuge, is where Lior now resides just as Rasha did before him. He is able to communicate telepathically with anyone who wears him for more than one minute (or holds him), and is more than likely quite a wreck.Lior is now officially a Non-Player Character.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - StatsID: SD137 Name: Lior Suit: Hearts Rank: King Gender: Male Animal: Feline Region: Highlands Parents: Serafino x Pravus - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NotesHe can fly, though his build isn't quite right for it. Items
- Cursed Cloak -
This long, black cloak appears to be sewn together out of wings. The bones remain in them and though the feathers are silky smooth, they clack ominously as the wearer moves about.
Putting it on will give the wearer an air of foreboding that Cards ranked Jack and lower will feel and be aware of. The sense will be horribly difficult to ignore... as though the grim reaper just walked in and gazed at them. If this item is worn while a King's ability is performed by the wearer... something extremely strange will happen. Waning: Using this item while performing a King's ability will permanently alter your SD
- Cloak Effects -
Upon placing on the cloak and using his King's ability, Lior has found that there are points in his life that he can no longer remember, and sometimes he suddenly snaps back into focus very far away from where he was before, with no memory of how he came to be there.
His appearance has changed slightly. His eyes are hollow-looking and sunken in their sockets, the gold on his wings is now interspersed with swirls of black, and his entire body is rail thin; no matter how much he eats he cannot gain weight. He is now able to fly fully and well.
Whenever he is within a ten mile radius of someone (must be an SD) who is either dying or about to die, his demeanor will change to one of ice cold severity and his eyes will become dull. Usually, he will simply drop what he is doing and walk quickly off to wherever the sense of death is coming from. Once there, he will place his hands soothingly on the creature until they have passed on... so most are under the impression at that point that he is, in fact, the grim reaper.
When he is in this mindset, his breathing becomes harsh and ragged and sounds a bit like a death rattle. His own voice becomes higher pitched and wispy; he is not capable of yelling like this.
Once the person has passed on, he will "re-awaken" as himself, whenever he is now...
This cloak also gives him an aura of dread. Most around him will feel cold, and even magical abilities and spells won't allow people to read him anymore. No one is ever able to read his mind, thoughts, emotions, or know what his abilities or powers are. If they try, they will feel as though ice water is being poured into their brains.
- Cloak Boost Ability -
When faced with an opponent, he is now able to, quite literally, kill them for a full day and then bring them back to life once a month. He will feel compelled to bring them back before or directly after a full day has passed. Even if he did want to put them down forever, the cloak will no longer allow him to do so. If he seems as though he will walk away from the person he killed, the cloak will posses him, putting him into his "reaper' state and bringing the person back anyway.
Using this ability negates gaining points for a kill, but does allow for the wearer to nab The Queen spot should they choose in a fight... just realize that the other Queen will be alive again.... and probably angry as hell the next day.
Once he has killed an opponent in this manner, he will also feel horribly compelled to take a small part of their body, be it a finger, lock of hair, scale, toenail, or eyeball...whatever, and keep it with him as a memento that he has used this ability on them. The cloak will give him the oddest sensation of ultimate pleasure when he does this... the feeling is nigh on incomparable to anything else... it probably makes sex unappealing to him in comparison and will become addictive after the third time he does it.
He will also realize, in the back of his mind, that this ability will only work to resurrect those he has killed. It does not work on other people's victims... but with more points.... maybe someday...
- Cloak Boost Ability -
He is now able to use his resurrection ability on other people's victims. Once a month, he will find himself able to bring an SD killed by another... or even one who has simply died from natural causes, back to the world of the living. The SD he wishes to return to life must have only died an hour ago or less or the spell will not work, and when he goes to bring them back he must make certain that someone is not waiting nearby to kill them again as he can only bring a person back once.
When he brings a person back, the spell will automatically subtract five years from their life, making their body five years younger, though not affecting their mind. Once he has brought them back, he will feel compelled to take from them a fraction of soul as opposed to the body parts he desires from his own kills. To do this, the person must have just been brought back and awake and aware, he will then stab his forefinger and thumb through their left eye and pull back out, a good bit of gore, and a thin shining orb. This orb is a tiny fraction of the others' soul and Lior will not be able to sleep for a solid week if he does not take it. Suppressing the urge to do so is nearly impossible, but he could if he were able to deal with the extreme withdrawal and near death and insanity of a week of solid sleep deprivation.
The small orbs of soul can be held in a jar or other clear container and look quite beautiful. If he manages to collect ten of these (only from PC's) he can combine them to create something fantastic.
- Orbs Collected - 1. Asha (Ace of Spades; Sorgaire Range/Forest of Kahmden; Skunk) 2. Vesper (Ten of Clubs; Lowlands/Morganberry; Rat/Canine) 3. Eir (Jack of Hearts; Yarrow Gardens; Equine) 4. Loreta (Six of Hearts; Torquehelm; Heron) 5. Treasa (Eight of Hearts; Highlands; Coyote) 6. Pravus (King of Hearts; Highlands; Feline) 7. Dyspareunia (Five of Diamonds; Corvistowne; Deer) 8. Indivar (Eight of Clubs; Josiggy Marsh/Torquehelm; Otter/Equine) 9. Helen (Four of Diamonds; Corvistowne/Torquehelm; Deer) 10. Tavor (Jack of Clubs; Sorgaire Range/Lowlands; Rat/Eagle)
- Cloak Curse/Blessing -
The cloak has now sensed the inner turmoil and distress it has caused its vessel. By way of compensation, a new ability was kicked into overdrive at the next sign of horror or dread from the host about the cloak or what it compels. It has begun to eat into its owners mind in order to calm the intense fears and qualms he may have about what he is doing, it hopes in this manner, to give him back to himself, so that he might be able to be as calm and collected as the dead. Lior is now almost permanently trapped in the cloak’s ambivalent state. He keeps the high, wispy voice, makes no judgments, and is serene and collected. He is permanently detached from the world he used to inhabit, though extreme measures could possibly be taken to reawaken him as he was before once in a blue moon. However, this new sense of being eliminates all stress and worry from Lior’s mind, it also allows him to draw the sense of pleasure he could normally only derive from resurrection, from any form of death around him, even if he is not participating directly.
When in this state, Lior is able to view situations from all angles and is now able to sense what it is that drives people to say or do what they do. He can evaluate a person without judgment and see what and why they really mean by their actions. He feels himself to be an impartial judge. There is only room in his heart for two people now: he must decide who is placed there, after the slots are filled, he will simply look upon all other life as means to the end and regard it impartially. The people placed in the slots, however, will remain able to pull him to his former self once a week if they really try and will be able to coax a new ability from him. They will be able to coax him into a state of awareness that allows the cloak to gain its own self for a small while; it will then go off for up to one hour, once a week and see if it can locate viable and plausible soul orbs to be harvested. While out, it also casts a spell of absolute darkness for five feet around it that nothing can penetrate except for Lior himself.
In essence, he has merged with his cloak and become a version of the grim reaper as thought out by himself and the cloak. He fully believes this to be so, to the point where...were he to die, it may even become an odd version of truth...
