His sister's touch was enough to prevent him from flying into one of his paranoid episodes. He took a deep breath. All right. Everything was "all right" for the time being. The Czar was nowhere near enacting his devious plans. He wouldn't touch Nadja just yet. They still had a little bit of time.
"I'll be careful, I promise. If I find someone... anyone to work for the Warren, I'm sure the Czar would be pleased enough that he would ignore me for a while." His ears twitched for a moment.
About five minutes had passed right? So he had fifteen minutes before he had to sever the Czar something to drink. Unless... that Doe. Hadn't she been bothering him today? Oh right! HA! They were probably going to have a nice long session of sex. Actually there was no doubt in his mind. He had already poured the drinks and left them in the Czar's room, so technically all his duties were taken care of besides the dishes.
"A walk would be nice, I think I can get away for a little while. Thank you, Nadja... I don't know what I'd do without you." He'd be dead actually, but she didn't need to know that.

Nadja nodded loyally as her brother spoke, listening intently but also calmly. She loved her brother dearly, as much as he loved her, and she put more faith in him than she'd ever let on. As lax as she would appear form day to day, Nadja would always follow her brother when push finally came to shove.
"You're welcome, Heike. You'd probably be a paranoid mess, more so than you are now,...but really, I don't know what I'd do either. You're the best brother in the world." She nudged him lightly and groomed his ear a bit before abruptly hopping away toward the door.
They could slip out of the burrow unnoticed and go for a walk while the Czar enjoyed himself, he'd never even know the difference. Just as well, however, Nadja made wise to bring a basket so that she could appear to be 'working' when they returned. Flowers, herbs, berries...she'd find something useful, undoubtedly. Nadja pushed open the door.
"Shall we?"

"I'd be dead." was what he desperately wanted to say, however. It didn't come out like that. He couldn't admit to her the whole truth of why he was so paranoid. No, she never would need to know about what happened to all their siblings and what their own father did. No no no.
He was grateful for the comfort and her changing the course of the subject. Letting out a sigh Heike gave her a smile as he hopped after her. "You're the best sister I could ever have. You have no idea." He brushed up against her briefly before moving past her to hold the door open. A flower basket? Well that was a good idea. They could stop by the meadow and pick something he supposed. Or he could just let Nadja do it. Taking a break and doing nothing was something he really needed to do more often.

It was probably for the best that Heike kept his knowledge to himself. Nadja was happy in her ignorance and would have been horrified to know the truth of what had happened.
So while his thoughts were lingering and dark, Nadja thought of little more than getting out of the burrow and enjoying some fresh air with her brother. She leaned into the brush of his fur as he passed by, making a pleasant purring noise before hopping out after him. Once she was outside, Nadja turned swiftly to face her brother and fixed him with an admonishing stare that was horribly ineffective due to her playful smile.
"Now no working while we're out, you hear me? We're just going to enjoy the scenery and the fresh air, kay?"
Nadja was well aware of Heike's tendancy to overwork. He was her brother after all, and she'd known him for the greater half of forever.

Heike gave her a false frown. He did his best to look like he was pouting, but he had never been very good at that. Instead his face quickly changed to a smile and he chuckled. "Fine, have it your way."
Hopping down the usual path they made their way to to a flower laden field. It was rather pretty in bloom. Heike glanced at the different kind of flowers that grew there. He had planted some of them quite some time ago. It was an overall calming sight, though he was still debating about work. At least it was something light hearted, like flower arrangements. Maybe he could make something calming and aromatic when he got a chance to?
"Maybe we can pick some lavender?" He suggested to his sister as he took a seat on the edge of the path and the vegetation. "Or would that be classified as work?"

Nadja always felt better about everything when Heike was around. He made her smile and put down a few of the walls she had to wear about for the sake of the higher ups. It was nice, Nadja felt, to just be herself and to enjoy her brother's presence.
"As always, dear brother." She laughed a little, hopping along at his side.
The flowers were a delight, as usual, and filled the air with a fresh, light scent that made her sigh with further content. She'd be happy to just flop in the middle of the field and watch the day fade into night. If only.
"Lavender? I don't think picking lavender would be considered work so long as we're doing it for fun." As she spoke she set the basket down on the path and wiggled her cottony tail. Abruptly she sprung forward, hoping that he was distracted enough with his flowers and aiming to tackle him into the flowers.

Nadja succeeded in distracting him, and pounced him quite throughly. Tumbling into the flowers Heike made an "umph" sound at his sister. He wiggled for a moment to position himself better under her weight, as light as she was it was still a bit awkward.
"That was completely unfair! I wasn't even ready for anything like that," He said as he wiggled under her, pretending to be pinned. "It seems I've been vanquished by the Great Nadja and the Lavender Plants."
He wished he could stay like this all day. Having fun with his sister. What could honestly be better than this. With a small sigh he smiled up at her. "We should start picking some flowers or... we could try to watch the sun set. I don't think they'd miss us if we get back before dark." He grinned. Doing something risky once in a while might be fun.

Nadja wiggled proudly and were her tail longer, she would've been wagging it. "Indeed! No one can defeat the Great Nadja!" She let out a playful cackle before falling into gentle laughter and rolling off of her brother, flopping into the field beside him with a small 'oomph' of her own.
Pick flowers or watch the sunset? Well, in all honesty, the sunset sounded much better...but they should probably do a little of both.
"I suppose we should pick some lavender, but once we've got some, we should sit and enjoy the sunset, proper. I don't think they'd miss us either." She flashed a smile back at her brother before rolling gently to her paws and looking around. The field was nice and wide and, if they planned it right, they could simply pick as they walked to a better vantage point.
Well, that sounded like a plan to her.

"If you don't want to pick flowers we don't have to. I just like the way they smell and all. I'll eventually come back and pick some fresh ones anyway." He said with a small smile. He wanted to have fun, so he didn't want to get into any sort of argument.
He picked one flower with his mouth quickly as he stood up. Then he carefully propped it up on his sister's ear. With a small sigh he looked towards the sunset. "I think we should just watch after all. It's too pretty to pass up."
He liked spending time with Nadja alone. It seemed like they didn't spend enough time with each other--well they honestly didn't. The Czar made sure of that. One day they would be free of him, it was just a long way off before they could come up with something.
