A pair of otters absently toddled along through the streets, seemingly oblivious to the fact that it was quite abnormal for two five-year-olds to be walking around in a highly urban area without some kind of supervision. Truth to be told they'd evaded both of their mothers (though one wasn't really an evasion but more of a bribery) and were happily wandering in search of the park.. what they didn't know was that the park was in the other direction, and they were heading more towards downtown than anything remotely woody. The female, a distinctly-colored black and blue, was doing something even stranger, as she was holding her brother's hand and chewing on it every now and then. It wasn't enough to break the skin or even hurt really, but it did look quite odd--it was like sucking on a thumb, but somebody else's thumb. "Aph, I thin' we's lost," She said finally.. then giggled.

"No we's not," the male responded, sounding quite sure of himself despite the fact that he honestly had no clue whatsoever which direction they were supposed to go next. It was a skill he'd picked up from Mommy Quinn, who could probably sound perfectly confident about everything while the world was falling apart around her. Well, she'd either do that or run away screaming something incoherant, and he wasn't quite sure what would trigger which reaction. Aphasia's rather awkward three-legged gait - habitual due to his sister's use of his other hand - carried him along relatively quickly for a five-year-old, but finally he had to stop and look around. Okay, so maybe they were a little lost. Just a little, right? He didn't really recognize anything around them, and it looked like things were getting in worse and worse shape, and some part of him wondered why the people who lived here weren't being lectured by their mothers to clean up this mess. Mommy Vessie always made sure that they kept everything neat and clean, after all. "We's not lost. We's just...not where we's suppos'd to be."
