Awww, I don't think it's limiting at all. Not everyone from a certain place even has an accent, or the stereotypical one, or a heavy one. Not everyone in the South has a Southern accent. I think it really helps create a cohesive feel of a realm, generally speaking. They all have different LANGUAGES; I think it's reasonable that they would all approach the lingua franca in a different way. I always imagined the Gardens as French, personally. XD Though Mnem and spawn have Greek names. Something about them being next door to the realm I'd always seen as English gave me great lulz imagining the cultural posturing between posh Highlanders and posh Yarrows. But it's probably best not to project too much real-world lulziness onto an imaginary world. XD And I guess as Nat said, anyone can be anything. For my own two cents, the Veldt has a pretty distinct accent, in my head--mostly due to cultural isolation. Unless you're a Diamond, in which case it is your business to speak well, you're pretty much incomprehensible speaking common unless you speak it a LOT. They still use a thee/thou system, some archaic forms of address, and rather outmoded vocabulary. Think Elizabethan stage language having an unholy, hideous lovechild with a kind of Wild West drawl. Reisz is rather weirder/more pronounced than most because I'm working out the sounds of it. XD Clearly not everyone who gets a Durumian has to write exposition or the slang the way I do, or be typical. Well, enough of my pontificating. XD *scurries off*

I've always thought lowlands to have lower, scratchy voices... not necessarily a drawl... or any real sort of accent... just different varieties of a smoker's voice. No distinct accent makes enough sense to me since most try and get the snot out of their homeland, lol.
But these are just the thoughts I have <3

...just also piping in (again) to say that...oddly enough I haven't thought of a real accent for the Cranstone Moors. >_> Molly doesn't really have an accent in my head, so...*shrugs*
If you guys have suggestions I'd be interested to hear them...XD;;

Hmm... seems I have been missing out on an enlightening cultural discussion. Well said, Bee! You read my mind; that is more or less what I was thinking on the topic, but you've voiced the same opinion with an eloquence and careful thoughtfulness surpassing my own. Language is ever-changing, evolving into new words and speech patterns to fit with the times, diversifying, and identifying, people from one another and layering texture onto different cultures. Observe the real world around us, and it is truly not that far of a stretch to imagine similar phenomena taking place in a fictional universe like Suits of Decadence. As for me, I never gave any consideration to imbuing accents in my SDs because I usually just assign voices that I believe fit their characters in my mind. :/ For an example, Beowulf speaks in a husky baritone like Ron Pearlman. In fact, the only one of my SDs who always had a pronounced accent is Amaterasu, who speaks with a formal Japanese tone. Due to the fact that, even though she was born a Highlander, she was raised on the inside border of the Mid-Range. Ever since learning of everyone's visions of their own characters voices, and Nat’s official ruling on the matter, I have been thinking on this facet of my own SDs' characters-- what their dialects might be. I'm glad you asked that question, Callypso. It is these subtle nuances which really assist in fleshing out characters.

Aaaand I'm dredging up a question that was asked a while ago.. (The "search" option actually worked for me this time, yaaay!)
On page 77 (I believe) of the Q&A Harps brought up the suggestion for bringing borogoves onto the SD scene. Jenn alluded to the fact that Harps was "ahead of the game" but I don't think there's been any reference to it since then.
So, has there been any development on that front? We've got the Jubs, Momes and Toves, but I definitely think it would be fun to see these little wonky birds on the board, or is this a project that Nat's been working of for some time??
Thanks!

Well being that this is the questions thread... I have a question for everyone.
One I'll start with a statement...
I'm not cut out for Rabbits, XD.
So the question is: "Does anyone wana trade SD for SD?"

Actually, Nafa... unfortunately, SD trades are not allowed unless it's during a specified allowable period like gifting a baby as it's born or a board-sanctioned "trade" in the trading post area.
However, Nat has stated that with Rabbits, you may give away a Rabbit as a gift if you wish. You just can't receive creatures or items or points in return.
