Highlands = a variety of the UK, depending, methinks. Parts are such darn proper British, and others are a more rugged, hilly country. I suppose it might depend on how close you are to the Courts and the fields or to the hills and whatnot?

Hrmm... these are good things to ponder. I guess I was hoping for some general rules because I like consistency?? XD For example, I figured that the Golfam and Lowlands (possibly Bog?) would have a kind of country-bumpkin drawl happening, Hisstor might have a Middle-Eastern type accent (because they're both deserts??), Selkies might be Dutch or similar, Midrange would be another Slavic variant, like Polish, Sorgaire might be Swiss (neutral, bwahahah)... Um, and maybe the others would be something like... Josiggy = Irish? Villa en Miir = Italian? Benyans = Native American-ish/some Asian-type dialect? Corvies = German (because mad scientists are??) And I'm out... LOL I dunno... any other ideas?? ETA: Per Jenn it seems there's no "rules" for accents (and I'm not trying to get one instated), but I was curious what other people thought/imagined/whatever

Uhm, just to put this out there: I distinctly remember a conversation some time long long ago there there was no standard...
Take Torquehelm for example I've seen French (Murmur), Russian (Anushka), British (Loreta and others), and I've toyed with Indian from there as well. Wulfram's German and from Tulgey but there isn't any other German Tulgeys.
Yeah, some places do ring of being a particular region but that doesn't mean anything. Meecha is Jamaican even though she's in Golfram. The lists go on and on. So, really, I think it's just preference...

Cents. I'm putting my two in.
I imagine most of my characters with mild accents or none at all. Like Peaches is absolutely not French, despite some Torquehelms being played with French accents. Theofilus was supposed to have a mild Italian accent, Bailee has a Posh British Accent, Loreta has a painful British accent and if Ichigo has an accent at all it's probably Japanese. Etc, etc.
So... establishing a standard for the board just seems... limiting? I imagine generalized stereotypes exist but... who would agree on what? I have no intention of changing my characters voices.
Edit: Oh yes, I imagined Esteberries with British or New England (not Boston, so help me) accents. But that's only because of what they were based off of. *shifty look*

To be fair to Anoushka, she was raised heavily in the high peaks of the Sorgaire with family. :3 That accounts more for her accent than Torquehelm.
Benyan tends to have a drawl, less hick than the Golfam but definitely there? Per Xenon, anyway. They're a bit more insular on the river.
The fun thing about Cards, and something that makes this tricky, is that it's so easy for one "pure" realm to be born inside another realm, and then travel, and beget more, and... it all gets awesomely confused. xD

To clarify:
Some Realms have more noticeably pronounced accents:
Solandria and Sorgaire tend to have slightly Russian accents. Yarrow and Highland tend to be a little British in the more purely bred areas. Golfam, Josiggy, and Benyan have drawls that are up to your interpretation. Midori has a variation of many "island" accents. Corvie is distinctly American in any way you want to interpret it.
Other than that? COMPLETELY up to interpretation. ALL of them are up to interpretation and none of them MUST be played with a certain accent. What with the Capital, everyone's brought "melting pot" back and forth. Any accent can be played anywhere.

This is really making me want a Solandrian so I can have them actually use Russian phrases.

Uh, well, as Nat has already given the official board ruling...there's really no reason for me to say anything, but...XD;;
I've always imagined Seena to have a cultured English accent. Graeme, obviously, has a Scottish one and is from the Highlands/Morganberry so which the accent stems from is up to interpretation... Aberforth has a very heavy accent...what I'm not sure. I've always half imagined something Germanic or Slavic.
Those are the only ones of my characters I think really come to me with an accent. Now, how much I try to write the accent depends on my mood.
Also, Felix talks like some mix between surfer/90's teen punk, sooooo...XD

I would be lying if I said I wasn't delighted by Nat's declaration... XD But I know I think about all the ins and outs of everything relating to the board/SoD land, so I find these things useful.
I'm also incredibly tickled by everyone's visions of their own characters voices, so I'm really glad I asked my question. Hee. I will now be imagining Bailee with a British accent, and Felix's speech reads (to me) how Lucca has explained it.
Funny enough, none of my SDs have asserted themselves in my mind as having accents. The closest right now would be Emery, who I imagine has kind of a weird combo of an educated/urban lingo, if that makes sense, kind of a lilting Dodger as played by Billy Joel (Oliver & Company) minus the breathy attitude. lol.
I'm thinking of giving Farran an accent, though, which kind of spurred my question in the first place... hehe.

Duuuuuuuuuuudddeeee! I never knew Lariel should have had a Russian accent! XD I sadly always just heard her as Middle American, with no discernible accent only because I'm from the Midwest. Hehe. A Russian Bobcat. That's sexy!
The thing is, that accent actually fits with her personality! Hrrrm, maybe I can still work it in for her. <3 Thanks, Nat!
