Q: Can we only obtain additional characters through breeding after we receive our first random one? Or will customs or semi-customs, or even more randoms for those who already have a main character become available at random times?
A: Both; I will also be opening commissions later on. In the meantime (and the free time XD) I'll be having breedings about once a month or so, and contests fairly regularly.
Q: I have to wait for someone to make me a sub-board in the Dealers records place, right?
A: Yeah, you have to wait until someone makes it for you.
Q: Do the colors of the regions affect all creatures, or only the Cards? That is, do Cats and Rabbits come from the same regions and have the same colors/limitations/themes as the others?
A: Everything sentient from that region(s) is affected and has the same limitations.
Q: Do you have to move up in rank one at a time or can you pool your points and do one leap?
A: You could pool to do a leap if you so desire. Going to any face card, however, needs to be done one at a time.
Q: With the ability to comprehend two languages when activated.... do the two languages change with each activation or remain the same
A: Hmmm....pick two. So if you want Hisstor Wastes and say, Highland, that's what you're stuck with. Make a note of it on your character's page. Every realm has a basic form of slang or speech that others find difficult to understand as well as the common tongue which everyone speaks.
Q: If I were wanting to post fanart for points, where would I post it?
A: In General, with a fanart title.
Q: What is the age scale that you want us to work with. Normal human aging, animal aging, or something else?
A: Human aging scale, if you please. Longer lives = yay. Though with certain favors and magics you can increase it....
Q: Alrighty... if instead of wanting to gain a completely new ability through points you wanted to just... beef up an existing one would that be on a different point scale or would it still be the same?
A: Hmmmm...same point scale.
Q: For the points system... when you say "reply" do you mean just your FIRST post, or does that mean every IC post you make earns you one point? For example:
Thread 1:
1 - Spidey opens
1- Ari joins
2 - Spidey
2 - Ari
3 - Spidey
3 - Ari
4 - Spidey
4 - Ari
closed
Does Ari earn 7 points for the thread (4 replies and 3 for finishing), or just 4 (1 reply and 3 finish)?
Likewise, does Spidey earn 7 points (4 posts, 3 finishing), 6 (3 replies, 3 finishing), 4 (first post or replying to Ari, 3 finishing) or just 3 (for finishing)? Sorry if this question is confusing... I can try and word it better if it helps.
A: Every IC post you make in reply. Ari would get seven points. Only the person who makes the actual last post in an RP gets the three points. So only Ari would get it in your example.
Q: For Villa en Miir creatures: Are they born with their markings (such as SD023's "lover" and "master") engraved into their fur, or are they given to them (like tattoos) at some point in their life (whether by ritual or what have you)?
A: They are born with the markings...and, yes, they always mean something to the Card's past, personality, whathaveyou. But it can be as twisted as you like, or you can bury it as "past".
Q: Still on Villa en Miir creatures- Is their jewelry (that their mother gives them) predetermined, or are we allowed to choose what it is?
A: You get to choose.
Q: I was talking with a friend of mine last night and we were wondering what the technology level/era is in SD? Being AiW-based I was figuring something Victorian-esque but I wanted to verify.
A: Think Victorian era style for most situations. Places like Corvistowne and the Wastes, and Tulgey Wood are more advanced, however. For them think anywhere from early 1900's (trains and light bulbs) to music machines (radios). They're geniuses. Other realms usually delight in the new creations and medical advances (early 1900's again). For example, no one really uses candles anymore. Electricity is abundant. No TV though.
Q: What kind of religions do they have? Is there any religious controversy? Or do they have absolutely no religion? Or is religion baned...but there are several underground facets? I don't know...I'm just curious. I don't think any of my characters would be religious...but I never saw anything about any religion...and was curious as to if they have any...
A: I'm not quite through with religions yet. It was something that still needed work but wasn't quite as pressing. I'll get cracking on it soon.
Q: What kind of wildlife is eatable in each region?
A: Think the normal wildlife for whatever terrain it might be, plus a few 'unusual' creatures. Bandersnatches, for example, roam the forests and plains of the world, though catching one to eat would be extremely difficult.
Q: Just wondering how point spending works... okay, say you have 50 points exactly, and you want to grow a baby [10 points] and also go up in rank from 10 to Jack [50 points]. When you grew the baby, would those ten points effectively be spent and disappear, or would they stay and be able to be used towards something bigger when more points are accumulated? In this case- the rank jump.
A: So you have 50 points. You grow the baby, so 50-10 = 40 The ten you spent are gone for good. Also in order to grow a baby you have to have ten points for them, but also ten posts from said baby. Once you have those I'll be thrilled to grow them. (You might already, I haven't checked, it's just fyi.) So after this you are left with 40 points. After getting ten more they can be used to raise rank. Or whatever.
A: Both; I will also be opening commissions later on. In the meantime (and the free time XD) I'll be having breedings about once a month or so, and contests fairly regularly.
