...to exist! Properly, anyway. I'm working on fleshing out her character. She's one I'll be getting in a commission, a Villa/Yarrow Wolverine King of Spades woman who's built like a bear-weasel-tank and plays the harp.
So far, I've gone through some past questions and made answers purely for my own character development. If you could ask a few more, I'd love you forever. <3
What would she do if a stranger ran up to her, proclaimed he was a superhero and "saved" her from a nearby trashcan? (Read: Knocked her over and beat the can into a scrap of metal)
- Stand up and beat the everliving crap out of him. Stupid deranged male. She doesn't like crazies.
If you were a my little pony, what would you look like?
- Girly colors and hairy.
Going into a library (run with me, here), what section(s) would you immediately gravitate towards?
- Romance, probably. Then history and politics.
Why do you wear the clothes/accessories that you do?
- I like to put on a good face for the public. Also, shiny things make me happy.
If you could breathe underwater, would you?
- So long as there weren't any other nasty side effects, sure! Why not? It's just another advantage.
How would you feel if your best friend/someone you respected told you they were going to die in a week?
- Shocked. Mildly resentful that they hadn't told me before. Hurt. I'd probably ignore them for a day before calling myself all kinds of a fool and spending it with them.
If the sky was green, what color would the grass be? (And why?)
- Well, if the sky was green then either I would be hallucinating or we wold be having some serious issues. I wouldn't really care what color the grass was unless that was the cause of either situation. Then again, in Yarrow, if it's a new variety of plant...
What language do you dearly wish you could speak?
- Erm. The other Court languages, probably. Because I'm nosy like that.
How many books do you have in your bedroom, if any?
- Maybe three or four on my bedside table? I don't tend to keep books in my room unless I'm reading them that instant. It's just messy and unnecessary, and I don't think they're all that attractive.
What is your hot beverage of choice and why?
- Rose hip tea, or jasmine. The floral blends are just delicious. Anything I need to sweeten in order to make palatable is disgusting.
Is there a story behind the way you act in public?
- The story is that my parents taught me good manners, probably better manners than you've got for asking a question like that. Don't piss me off, though. I don't take rejection well and I'm not afraid of causing a scene if it gets me where I need to be.
If you had to wear a scarf in the wintertime, what color would it be? Any texture?
- I'd want something extremely thick and of medium width. Maybe a dark violet or gold?
Would you ever betray someone you loved for something you desired?
- If I really loved them? No. If I didn't? Possibly. It's a matter of degree.
What's your singing range?
- I've got a husky voice with an unpleasant burr, more's the pity. I'm a contralto.
Do you prefer silk flowers or real flowers?
- Real flowers, though I like them both for different reasons. I'm fond of Yarrow varieties, but there was this one type of flower that stubbornly clung to the Villa cliffs and I always admired its tenacity and beauty. I had some growing outside my window.
What do you fear most in another person?
- A strength or will greater than my own.
What do you fear most in yourself?
- My first thought was 'weakness', but even I realize that's stupid. Everybody's weak. It's just where you keep it and how you show it that counts. I sometimes worry that my own ambitions are going to get ahead of me and take me places I don't want to be, but I usually dismiss the thought as a side-effect of PMS.
What does the word 'trust' mean to you?
- I can give you my hand, hug you, and know somewhere deep down that you would sooner stab a knife into your own back than into mine. I don't think I could ever feel /that/ with a male.
Is it better to have loved and lost, or never to have loved at all?
- Loved and lost. I want that kind of love enough that I'd rather have it and soldier on than wonder for the rest of my life what it would be like.
What would you ever do if confronted with a broken leg?
- If I broke someone else's, I bet they deserved it. If they didn't, I'd feel like a heel. If it was /mine/, you'd better believe I'd be lashing out.
How many gum balls can you fit in your mouth?
- *looks around for witnesses* ...how many have you got? *smirk*
Do you like bird songs?
- Yes, they're absolutely stunning. My mother was a bird. I wish I could sing like her.
Have you ever wished you were the opposite gender?
- NO. You're a fool for even asking. *slams in the face with a paw*
What did you want to be when you grew up? What do you want to be now?
- When I was really little, I wanted to be a bird with a beautiful voice like my mother. When I got old enough to realize how stupid that was, I wanted to be some sort of knight or sword fighter. Now that I'm old enough to roll my eyes at both of those, I want to be the Queen of Spades.
Did you ever have a childhood crush/sweetheart?
- I had a crush or two, but eventually lost interest before I could do anything about them. I prefer the willowy girls.
How many hearts have you broken?
- None? That I know of, anyway.
What kind of music makes you want to dance?
- Ahh, dancing... I can dance to most anything, but I prefer something with a lilt and a good beat. Celtic music is probably my favorite, something with a rumbling drum and a woodwind or violin playing a vigorous melody.
Which do you like better, black or white, and why?
- White. Black is just too... heavy, if that makes sense. Besides, white is prettier.
If you could paint your living quarters one color, what would it be?
- Ooh, tough one. Probably some variant on rich green. Maybe off-white. It would depend on the style of the room.
Do you believe in ghosts?
- No. *snort* What are you, a baby?
How much would someone have to pay you to egg the palace of Hearts?
- ...heheh. I'd rather watch someone else be that stupid, but I don't know... I just can't jeopardize my future plans. It would be fun, though.
If you could fly, where would you go?
- I'd jump off the Villa cliffs, maybe out a window. I have /always/ wanted to do that and I used to watch my mother and sister do it all the time. Sadly, I don't have wings or that Diamond flight ability.
Where do you see yourselves in five years' time?
- I see myself in the palace of Spades. Doing what... now that's the big question. I'm /going/, though.
If someone from your region decided to be very sociable with you, to the point where they wouldn't stop bothering you, how would you react?
- If they were an annoying little pissant, I'd tell them politely to get out of my face and then do something physical to make the point if they didn't listen. If I was interested in what they were trying to say, great!
What's your favorite kind of natural stone?
- My Villa stone, of course. I'm very fond. (Don't know her stone?)
What is the most attractive thing in someone of your preferred gender?
- The way they smell and a pretty smile. Also, I think wings are beautiful.
Do you like pants, on yourself or others?
- Pants are fine. I have nothing against pants.
What would you do if a man in a dress was about to kill you?
- Probably go into a bit of utter rage and do my utmost to shred him, both for trying to kill me and trying to kill me /as a man/.
How do you feel about public displays of affection?
- I think they can be endearing, but I get uncomfortable and a little disturbed whenever I watch a man being overtly sexual towards a woman. It's especially bad if he's being overbearing about it. Makes me want to go over there and punch him in the face.
What kind of handwriting do you have?
- I've tried for elegant all my life and I can manage calligraphy, but when I'm holding a 'normal' writing utensil (and especially if I'm in a hurry) it degenerates into a blocky scrawl very quickly.
What's your favorite and least favorite food?
- I love clams. If they're cooked in wine with onions, oh, you've got me. I despise Brussels sprouts. They're so pretty, but they taste like feet in my mouth.
What is your favorite type of music?
- Can such a thing even exist? I'm very fond of softer, slower songs, either vocal or harp, with or without accompaniment. I like all sorts, though.
Silk or velvet?
- Ooh. Herm. I like both. Silk on me, velvet on others?
If you could go to any place at all, where would you go, and who would you take with?
- I love my home. I would go down to the very bottom of the Villa cliffs, find myself an outcropping, and have a picnic lunch somewhere the rock-climbing flowers bloomed. Maybe I would bring my family, my mother at least.
Do you like chocolate?
- Yes, but I'm not obsessed with the stuff. I usually prefer lighter desserts.
Who is your favorite person to spend time with?
- Probably my mother, at this point. My friends are fun, but really, she's the best of them.
What is your favorite hobby?
- Playing my harp. There is no question.
Do you like cheese?
- Yes, but not in vast quantities. I don't like swiss or the smellier cheeses. I actually prefer it in a fondue.
Do you prefer mornings, late nights... what?
- I used to be a night owl as a kid, but I really do prefer mornings. I just didn't have time to practice until very late and I never wanted to go a day without touching my harp if I could help it. Now I'm better at balancing it and tend to go to bed earlier.
How silly would you say you are?
- Eh, I have my moods sometimes. For the most part, though, I'm not really a silly person.
If you had to put a lamp in your favorite room, what would it look like?
- It would have a colored glass petal-like lamp. I saw one /once/ and fell in love with it. I've lusted after that lamp for years.
If you were forced (or invited) to attend a masquerade ball, what would you dress up as and why?
- I might be a dashing swordswoman. I used to have dreams about that kind of thing. Maybe a bird, if I was going for a different feel?
So far, I've gone through some past questions and made answers purely for my own character development. If you could ask a few more, I'd love you forever. <3
