Let me get this straight. Some Spades can summon or dismiss a familiar at will. This is considered a magical ability. How powerful an ability? Is this attuned to the character? Or the Suit?
And, Cards can purchase a creature from the shop, which likewise can be summoned or dismissed at will. i.e. Mome Raths. This is almost, but not quite the same thing. What are the limitations to the purchased creature, as opposed to a familiar, if any?
Can a Card have both purchased a Mome Rath, and the ability to summon or dismiss a different Mome Rath from the purchase one? And how about multiple familiars? And companions? Will that complicate things? Or just set free the Mome Rath to wander the Tulgey Wood?

It's an ability attuned to the suit and is granted to every Spade of rank Ten and higher.
The creatures from the shop cannot be summoned or dismissed at will. They are like a pet and follow (or stay behind) as the character handles them.
To my knowledge, there is only one 'familiar' per character. This is, of course, subject to the rare exception in the future. Characters can have as many 'pets' as they would like.
In the future, please post questions in the Q&A thread? It helps to keep things neater. Thanks. ^_^
