For Spidey first, after that any one is welcome^^ Long beams of sunshine bore down upon the Earth below, bringing with it an unforgiving heat that loomed across the land in thick, invisible sheets. It seemed to particularly favor where ever the Cards congregated. In some regions, it even clung to the cities in a dreadfully humid fog. Such were the laws fo physics. The more bodies clustered together, the more heat that is generated, especially in the middle of August.
Large pools of light also made their way across shear cliffs hanging above a rather impoverished looking town, adding a touch of yellow to all objects (living and non). At first glance, it may seem preposterous to presume some creatures lived among the near-vertical rock faces, but there were a few peoples that thrived off of it. To one individual, like many of her kind, it was home. Villa en Miir is what they called it. The lush trees growing out of the bare surfaces first outwards before making radical bends upwards just to get some sun. In some places, the stems were even greater than ninety degree angles.
On one of the many flats along the rocky edge bordering the town, a purple figure curled in partial sunlight. She seemed completely relaxed with her obviously feminine form pressed back against the cliffside while her hindpaws draped leisurely along the smooth surface. Of course, even the alcove wasn't very large, so the tip of her long, bushy tail was left to hang loosely over the edge, paying no mind to the massive drop before the slope reached solid ground. The toes on one of her forepaws rolled rhythmically up and down with her canine claws protruding at intervals. The movements, though apparently lackadaisical at first, were very precise. Each slight flick was made with a purpose, while those blue eyes focused on something a foot in front of her. There, the very pebbles of the earth seemed to rise up from the ground and rotate about the space between both petite paws, slowly weaving into a long, cylindrical tube. Sit back and watch a master at her work.

(( I'm posting things that haven't quite happened yet XD But Jenn told me they would so yeahhhhh. Jenn said Lleurela would be sent by Fino to 'his' instrument maker XD to get a better instrument *NOD*)) The heat pressed down on Lleurela as she continued on her way. Several beads of sweat curled down between her fur causing her to scratch at the itch they caused. At least she was home again! But what a crazy thing to come back just before having to leave for the capital city. Lleurela looked down at herself and wondered vaguely if she saw a bit of shape under her fur now. She shook her head and continued on deciding she'd have to eat more. XD Deftly she moved between the trees. She didn't necessarily take the easiest route, though she did take the most scenic one. This forced her to jump from tree to tree. When she had wandered back into the main town this morning everyone told her she could find the one she was looking for up on the cliff outside of town. Nearly sprinting she had started out towards it, eager to make the instrument maker. Her head peeked over the edge of the cliff to see a beautiful canine staring and.. .. twitching at the ground? She pulled herself over the edge with a bit of effort and stood waiting as obviously the other was intent on something. As she looked closer she could see the pebbles moving... Lleurela watched closer.

That's perfectly fine^^. I figured she was going to make you a new instrument sometime anyway, considering she DOES work for dear 'Fino lol. The heat of day bore down on the little female as she worked, but she seemed to be indifferent to it. Her paw continued to thrum lightly on the warm ledge as particles floated before her and began to grow into a tighter cylinder. At first glance, it might have just appeared like grains of sand were collecting in the wind, but then the shape grew too solid and twisted in an extremely rhythmic pattern... to precise to be taken by the arbitrary wind. No, in all actuality the pebbles were small fragments of stone, curving off one section of the cliff face, apparently of their own voalition. They made near silent, clean breaks and drifted towards the congregating mass where the seemed to melt slightly and merge with the surrounding stone to form a solid, seamles mass.
After a few minutes, brilliant azure mixed in with swirls of lavender, colors from the Villa's own natural earth. The creator even paid careful attention to the pattern that formed on the long device, which became thinner, rounder and more refined as the minutes ticked by. Her eyes arched in concentration and her tail flicked slowly now, showing signs of some vigorous and highly detailed task. For a brief second, all movements before her ceased, the remaining scrapes of stone hovering in freeze frame before she got her barings and went back to work again. I always hate this part. She thought internally as the tube bulged in the center of the otherwise straight pole. It grew thicker until it forced the bottom half of the "line" to bend away from it, while another line formed out of the excess. The blue spun around in a rapid frenzy now, twisting tighter and tighter along that one side, straightening and solidifying.
Three minutes later, she was looking at what appeared to be an upside-down sling shot made of stone, with a hallow tube about half an inch thick running through the center and forking when one piece became two. She smiled chiefly here, but something on the back of her neck tingled. Suddenly, she got that funny feeling like she was being watched and she allowed the object to drift down onto the slate, while her "materials" molded right back into the surrounding rock. Slowly, the canine arched her lovely head upwards and peered towards the little rodent-looking female above.
She was never good at guessing some of the less common species, but she smiled sweetly nonetheless. It appeared this girl was a local, which made her smile wider as visions of a foreigner climbing up the "sketchy" sides of town to get to her flashed before her eyes. Hello, Miss. Do you see something that suits your fancy? Her question could be taken in several ways, but her tone hid them all. It was sweet, airy and distinctly musical. Something about the flash in those deep ocean blue eyes might have made someone wonder. She gave of a warm and inviting impression, yet mystery lingered within. With every flick of her ears, the silver rings and jade drops jiggled faintly, though the circlet on her head seemed only to compliment her already lean and attractive features.

Lleurela was surprised that she was noticed. "I. . .was told you m. . made instruments. Such beauty!" She squeaked slightly before composing herself.
"His Majesty Serafino, the Queen of Hearts sent me to y. . you with this."
She carefully, and somewhat nervously folded out a note from the Queen himself in front of the canine to read.
Artisan,
This musician requires your services. Create an instrument as per her specifications and measurements. Your payment will be delivered as per usual.
His Majesty Serafino, the Queen of Hearts
Lleurela flushed slightly, conscience of the fact that the note seemed a little abrupt. She made a small smile in the Canine's direction, hoping she herself didn't come off too. . .. abrupt.
Y. .. You're art is . . incredible.

Turquoise eyes, lined in deep violet watched as the fellow villager stumbled over her words. It appeared that she had caught this one by surprise and set her off kilter, just slightly. The vixen let the corners of her lips tug upwards in a coy, knowing smile, while her eyes traveled over the short, plump form. While slightly heavy set and with a noticable belly, the female had a natural beauty to her. Sleek fur, bright eyes, shy nature. At first, the creature stuttered out a quick statement, as if she was being caught with her fingers in the cookie jar, then paired it with a wide eyed compliment.
The canine could see the awe radiating from her new companion quite clearly and she giggled a little in warm welcome. The gesture soften her features even more, until she resembled a mother or a lover showing support when their loved ones were nervous. She even rolled over to her other hip to see the girl more clearly, tail now fully dangling off the side. Wind billowed through her heavy coat and when matched with the cool shade on the cliffside, it was actually a pleasant escape from the heat. Once composed, more speeched issued forth from a squirrel like maw. "His Majesty Serafino, the Queen of Hearts sent me to y. . you with this."
The fox rolled her blue orbs at that statement leisurely, then focused back on the speaker with ears at the ready, while the letter was unfolded and read allowed. Once finished, she shook her head with a little chuckle. "Oh dear Fino, how quaint of you." She responds to thin air as she considered her employer. It was no secret he was not a fan of her Court, but at least her rank was high enough for his notice when it came to her skill. She didn't really care how short he was or what he had to say to her anyway. It didn't matter, as long as it "paid the bills."
Rising to her paws, the female stretched upon the warm rock, then abandoned her post to leap upon small craggs in the cliff face until she joined the other Card on the peak, exposed to the afternoon's hot air. "Hello." She said sweetly, almost with a purr in her voice that sounded something akin to the trill of a woodwind instrument. "Thank you for the compli'ments." She continued, accenting each syllable and getting particularly heavy with the middle "i." Her thin frame shifted around the shorter female with what might have been a predatory glance, but it was well concealed in modest acception and pleasant greetings. I'm Aroha. And you?

Lleurela smiled back as the other warmed up to her. She had such compassionate eyes and such a beautiful coat. She had always gotten along well with canines, as her mother was one and felt quite comfortable whether she should have or not around Aroha. Her hand strayed and scratched at her arm slightly as she watched the other read out the letter.
She blushed at the statement by the fox knowing that the Queen's letter had indeed rubbed the females fur the wrong way just as she had suspected it would. Lleurela had honestly been surprised at the curtness in the letter after having spent such a wonderful friendly afternoon with the nice man. So many people would burst out laughing if they could hear her thoughts at the moment. XD
Small blue eyes followed the canines progress towards herself and she smiled still nervously. For some reason this conversation was seeming more like a dance than a regular conversation. Perhaps it was just the nature of this Aroha, she'd seen it before in some so engrained in the theatre that they couldn't leave it behind in everyday life. Lleurela was blind to the fact that she was in some ways, also unable to leave theatre behind. Though her vice was that of music.
"I. . only say the t.. . truth. It's unfinished," She motioned towards the piece still on the ground behind them. "But already i. . .it's quite gor. . . gorgeous. My name is Lleurela."
The small chipmunk female smiled gently at the other woman and dipped her head in greeting. She was quite entranced with the quality of the other's voice but said nothing as a quick thrill of fear shot through her at the glance from the other.

I. . only say the t.. . truth. It's unfinished, but already i. . .it's quite gor. . . gorgeous. My name is Lleurela. Came the response the vixen was looking for, plus a little extra. She only smiled cutely at the coninued compliments and folded her ears back in a gesture of humble thanks, before pricking them loosely once more. In her eyes, she was a skilled craftswoman who had an aptitude for making pretty, detailed things, but for some reason, but she never fancied herself as exquistite. Perhaps it was because of her suit or maybe, it was just that she could be a practical thinker at times and understood that she was not the greatest thing since sliced bread. Whatever the reason, the idea of her being anything particularly fabulous was not really in her thoughts.
But this girl tickled on the edge of it with all her kind words. Thank you, really. I take great pleasure in my work. She answers in softer tones as she seats herself neatly in front of the one that just introduced herself as Lleurela, with her tail curling daintily around her forepaws. She had a sort of, sophisticated, yet still highly sociable and friendly air about her up close. Her eyes gleamed in their usual, mysterious way and her figure just suggested something more sensual, alluring. Perhaps it was the deep blue "Master" or the fiery pink "Lover" emblazed on her pelt that did it, but there could always be more.
So fabulous to make your aquiantance, Lleurela. Aroha said airily, expression contouring into some sort of warm grin. Her brows lowered in question, though, when a flash of fear spread across the smaller one's face. Oh dear, now what was that for? She questioned herself in a motherly fashion. If she could purr, she would be making a soothing roll, but she hadn't the capabilities. Instead, she lowered her head and brushed her nose along the other's cheek in an affectionate greeting that was common among wild canines (to fellow packmates). Now, what is it you seek? My current project you deem beautiful is a stone Lute. Elegant, classic and smooth. It plays a rich, harmonous sound akin to a bird's song.

Lleurela grinned encouragingly at Aroha as she showed her passion for her work. It was always nice to see someone that loved what they did. That love always seemed to show through in their work, giving it that little extra something.
"Well. . I.. I was hoping you c.. cou.. could make me a pennywhistle?
She looked up meekly at the canine, hoping she wasn't asking for anything too much.
"It's just s. . so hard to find a whistle that fits m.. my hands. She lifted up her small hands in example. Her reach wasn't spectacular, her fingers hardly able to spread to even a fraction of what a human forms could. Or even what a bipedal's form could.
"Maybe something in ... blue and green?" Grin.

Long violet ears pointed skyward atop a similarly toned skull as their owner waited patiently for a response to her question. She was always extremely passionate about her craft, as could be seen by the amount of time she put into it. Each piece was given the tender love and care it deserved, along with her own personal flare that made it dramatic, desireable or simply unique. Of course, how many stone instruments did one see? It was a particular talent of hers to carve almost any type of rock into something lovely.
All the musical devices that were made by the thrum of her paws had almost an identical sound to their wood, brass, string or metal counterparts, but also possessed something more. Not only were they were bewitched to have a solid, flowing sound, but they were characteristically colorful, heavily detailed, smooth and cool to the touch. The weight was lighter than most assumed as well, adding to their allure. The elegant beauty, whether simple or ornate, was uniform in all of her pieces. She even managed to develop works for male owners to compliment the Card, taking on a more handsome, slightly masculine look while still retaining the soft feminine touch. Occasionally, some were even wrought from precious or semi-precious stone which was quite popular among the more wealthy females. It was sophistocated, classy and "new."
Aroha studied the female before her with a curious twinkle in her predatorial eye, wondering which poison would suit this Card best. The one that she picked; however, caught the fox by surprise. Out of all the instruments in the world, a pennywhistle is your desire? She questioned with a little chuckle in her airy voice. It was not offended or condescending in tone: merely factual and inquistive. Are you sure no other will play to your heart's content? The artisan continued, just to verify that was what her customer truly wanted.
At the second comment relating to her choice, Lleur gave her a quiet and revealed her tiny hands, to which Aroha grinned knowingly. Ah, I see your predicament, dear. Don't worry though, I think you'll soon find one that fits. She gave her comrade a wink and a flashy smile while lifting her own paw and curling the toes inwards towards her "palm." And of course, it can be any length, style and color you wish. Would you like opague or crystalline?

The small chipmunk shifted her feet a little, trying to find a more comfortable sitting location. She knew she was silly to ask for such a small instrument given an opportunity like this but. . .she just couldn't help but want anything else. The pennywhistle had been the very first instrument. . And well basically the only one she had learned to play. Most others were simply too hard for her small rodent-like hands.
It had taken years of perseverance to even gain that much. Yes. . . A Pennywhistle is what she wanted.
"Y... Yes a pennywhistle. Is exactly w.. what I want." She smiled up meekly at the canine, so very happy to have this opportunity.
"I.. I'd like it the length of my elbow to my wrist. . I think. .. 14 inches? Perhaps more of a recorder style so... so it has a mellower sound. And. . maybe blue and green op.. opaque with a piece of peridot at the base of the mouthpiece on the top? Above the first hole?"
She grew quiet hoping she hadn't asked for too much.
