For the first time since she'd done these experiments on herself, Ophelia was receiving more than just stares for her difference. It made her truly aware of what her region and her appearance could do to others. It left her sadly shaken although she'd never admit it. Turning her head away once Silvanus stood between them, Ophelia glanced at Igal and Astyana with a hint of shame in her eyes. She hadn't meant to disregard their words, but until the Torquehelmer relented she would've kept up defending herself. Her pride allowed nothing else, though it had ultimately been bruised in the end. But wasn't that how such situations always went? "It would be wise to check your assumptions before wielding your anger, but I offer my apologies as well." For defending herself? Hmph, it was an apology she'd speak only for the sake of Silvanus and the little ones. Had it merely been Astyana and Syraelia, she'd likely offer no such apology. The things one did for friends. Moving stiffly, her yellow-green orbs focused warily on Syraelia, she stepped away from the small group of children and foster parents. She wanted away from them all, even Silvanus. "I should probably be on my way now." Lacking in her usual jovial atmosphere, Ophelia simply attempted to be civil and not bitter. "It was a pleasure getting to meet Igal, Silvanus." She would've liked to talk with them more and would've much preferred a better first impression but what was done was done and she'd just have to make do. (I'm fairly sure this was crap -_-' Sorry )

He said nothing in responce to Syraelia's remarks about Ophelia's region. He felt a great amount of guilt for it. He, being Ophelia's friend, should really speak up for her, to tell Syraelia that she was not like all the others. Thats what the gentleman in him wanted to do, the one that wanted to hold up ideals, but in reality he was just as racist as Syraelia. Ophelia very much could have tried to take the children to experiment on them. But somewhere in his heart, he felt like Ophelia wasn't like all the others. It was so crazy that he couldn't explain it. But he couldn't bring himself to say anything to defend Ophelia. He hoped that both females would just take it as shock at her statement.
Igal was suprised at Silvanus but really didn't say anything either. He felt like his foster father would have said something, but couldn't understand why he hadn't. He knew this would have to be a question for later though, as it wouldn't be proper to point anything like that out in public. Silvanus did love to be as proper as possible, and in times when he wasn't polite he was always horribly embarrassed. He knew Silvanus wouldn't appreciate him saying anything.
Igal and Silvanus both turned to Ophelia as she spoke. When Ophelia turned to leave however, he was speachless. It would have been what he had done, but his friend was a prideful creature, and he couldn't imagine her leaving this situation unless she was truely upset about something. His mouth stood agape slightly as he watched her go for a moment or two. He looked at Syraelia and smiled nervously, as if to say 'just one moment please', before turning and following after the quickly disappearing doe.
"Wait, Ophelia, please...You don't have to leave. It was just...a misunderstanding..." he pleaded with her.

She felt terrible really to have used her realm against her, after all, wasn't Syraelia one of the last who should be judging based on homelands? She was nothing like those from Torquehelm, so it could very well be the same for this female, though much less likely... it seemed experimenting was in their blood. Though she could be of a kinder breed who simply didn't tolerate experimentation without the consent of their test subjects... but then again, it was also easy to convince children into such matters with coy wording...
There was no use toying with the idea in her head any longer, the children were fine and in one piece, and too many toes had been stepped on already. She really disliked making anyone feel uncomfortable in such a way, but, the time for apology was past, they'd both said their piece and made it as polite and neutral as possible. It was easy to see this female was very prideful indeed, and so she appreciated the gesture all the more. Again, she knew not what to say, so simply bowed her head in an aknowledging nod and offered an awkward smile. It was hard to just move on from such an event.
Igal had not responded, and while the little doe understood why, she also knew that she couldn't stand around and gape with her mouth open like everyone else. Maybe her experience with this had made her hardened to the whole experience of two beings wanting to rip each other to shreds, but either way it still left a bad taste in her mouth, and a pain inside her of knowing what could be... what had been... She didn't like conflict much anymore at all. "It was nice to meet you, Silvanus, Ophelia. I'll see you around Igal..." Her voice lowered at the end, obviously not pleased with her own choice, but it was all she had.
She walked forward towards Syraelia, ears back in obvious discomfort. She just wanted to go home and hide out in her room for a while, though she didn't really want to be alone in the least, she had nowhere else to go. "We should go, I think." Her voice was soft, tentative, testing the waters to see if the female would be upset with her in public, or save the lecture for a more private time. Either way, she began to head off quickly, not wanting to be seen by anyone else in her embarassment. She might have been young, but she knew how easy it was to have a name made for yourself with one little act. She did not want to be associated with this.
Turning in place, Syraelia began to follow the little doe, waving over her shoulder as she walked away. "I am glad the children were found... safely. It was a pleasure to meet you Silvanus, Igal... Ophelia." The last was said extremely reluctantly, but it wouldn't kill her to be polite, even if they weren't on perfect terms. They'd both done wrong in this little dance, and she didn't mind 'being the bigger person' so to say, and sucking it up for the sake of everyone's already damaged pride. She couldn't help but feel as tired as the little doe.

Ophelia paused, her shoulders tense although she still managed to turn around and bring her yellow-green orbs onto the buck hurrying toward her. She didn't want his pity or his consolations, she just wanted to escape this situation. She was used to brash fights and harsher words, but to think she'd made a fool of herself not only on the first occasion of meet such young ones but also around Silvanus.
She couldn't figure out why that more than anything else distressed her. Why on earth did she keep feeling it mattered what he thought over everyone else? Even the children alone would've been better without having Silvanus had to step up between them.
The Corvistowner shook her head, smiling faintly though it lacked her typical display of good spirits. Of course experimenting was in her veins, but on strangers? On children?! No, she'd never do that. Regardless of what was in her veins, Ophelia had morals. Was it not obvious enough that if she needed an experiment done and lacked willing subjects she would test on herself instead?
"No, Silvanus... It's all right." The female paused as she became aware of Syraelia's exit and the female blinked a little. Hadn't the children been playing? She'd figured by leaving she would give them the chance to continue doing so once all the emotion in the air cleared. Not bothering to answer Syraelia, for she did not know enough of the woman aside from the fact that she was just as racist against Corvistowne as so many others and that she was a defensive mother. Ah well. "I figured I should not intrude further.., I was hoping that the children could go on playing once I was gone."
However, it appeared she was wrong.
