Dymphna picked up the saucer and cup, handing them carefully to the Queen. She didn't want to have to leave just yet; she'd been curious for weeks now as to what he had commissioned from Silvanus. No one knew besides His Majesty and the secrecy surrounding the whole affair make her fur prickle with excitement. Whenever he took the time to be bothered with secrecy, things got interesting. She wouldn't say anything about what she saw, of course. One didn't hold a position as potentially sensitive as hers without keeping close counsel.
Accepting the tea without really looking at the doe, Serafino nodded acknowledgement of the goldsmith's words and took a sip, waiting. Only Dymphna would be able to tell from the stillness of his hands how very interested he was in the proceedings.
The jeweled pieces spilled from their bag and were carefully arranged by cream-and-green hands. Crimson eyes widened a fraction and he leaned down to get a better look as they glittered and shined in the bright daylight that spilled through the windows. The golden rings were set with valuable stones, all of them bound by the small, meticulously cut heart-shaped gems. The detail in the work was remarkably exacting.
He reached out one long finger and gently ran it along the band of the middle piece, feeling the gems and writing marring the smoothness of the metal. He picked it up and read the careful writing, examining each letter. Then he slipped it onto the middle finger of his right hand and smiled thinly. "Perfect. Absolutely...perfect. This is exactly what I requested." He reached for the other rings and examined them in turn, feeling each stone and band, feathering his fingers over the cut of the stones.
After a few moments of inspection, he scooped the rest up and returned them to their velvet pouch, which he then tucked away in his own beltpouch. "You will receive your payment, jeweler. In addition, you may ask a favor of me if you so desire. This is excellent work."

Silvanus finally let out a silent yet shakey breath. He was going to be ok it seemed, more then that even! The Queen, from what he could tell, seemed very pleased, already slipping one of the rings onto his fingers, and quickly pocketing the rest. "It is a pleasure to know that Your Majesty approves." he said with a polite dip of his head. He was curious also about the doe's reaction, because she was the only other one in the room to see the pieces, and because it had been a rather odd comission indeed, though he did not question the Queen about them at all. He knew that would easily turn the tide against him, and he just wasn't that stupid.
Ah payment! With Ophelia pregnant, he would have to find a more perminate home then the one his friend had lent him. It wouldn't do to be a rambling-man when one had kids they had to take care of. And what luck! He wouldn't even have to push it to ask for a favor! He really did want what was best for his kids, and he knew exactly what kind of favor he wished to ask for if the meeting had not gone sour. He did have to admit though, that he wish Dymphna wasn't in the room. If he ever had the balls to persue her at all, it probably wouldn't help his cause to have her know that he was siring children out of wedlock. He didn't look at her however, as he attempted to find the words he needed for what he wanted to ask for.
Somehow the situation had grown slightly awkward for him, despite the fact that he was happy that he was not about to be beheaded. At length he finally spoke, "Thank you, Your Majesty, I'm sure whatever amount of payment you decide on will be more then adiquate. I actually, do have a favor to ask. I have a friend who is expecting, and I know she would like the best for her children. I was hoping to ask for a blessing from you for high ranking children, so that they might have the best chance possible."

Serafino listened to the request with only half an ear, mind working busily to work out how best to use the rings to his advantage. He would have to approach one of the trainers, see if they were up to the task. If not, someone would have to be sent into the city to procure a suitable individual. Hmm...
"A favor should be easy enough," he agreed absently. "Those particular enchantments aren't hard for me to make, and more appropriate than some. I shall have it delivered to your address sometime in the coming week. Dymphna, see to the details."
The doe nodded and bowed as he swept past, leaving the two of them to go plan thins out elsewhere. The moment the swishing of his skirt faded from hearing, she turned to Silvanus with bright eyes, hands clasped together. "Those were just beautiful," she breathed. "I knew that you were a jeweler, a goldsmith, but I don't- I didn't- they were lovely! Did you carve those gems yourself or did you hire another craftsman to do that for you? Those are some truly unusual cuts, especially with the size of the small hearts."
After seeing the rings spilled out on the table, her mind had mostly blanked out the rest of the conversation. If asked the Queen's response, she wouldn't have been able to answer beyond 'he took them'. Jewelry, both collecting and admiring, was her favorite hobby. The position as Serafino's attendant gave her the perfect placement in society to see all that other courtiers had to flaunt.

"Thank you Your Majesty." he said as a simple farewell with a small bow as the Queen left the chamber. As soon as he did, a big weight was suddenly lifted off his sholders, and Silvanus felt like he could fly with how weightless he felt. He survived the ordeal, and his children wouldn't go fatherless! Maybe he wouldn't fail them to badly after all.
He was then confronted by what seemed to be complete adoration of his skill from Dymphna, making him blush furiously, red contrasting greatly against his cream and green pelt. She seemed to have her breath taken away, and while he had expected questions on why he was getting a favor for a friend and not himself, it was as if she had not even paid attention to that part of the conversation, completely intranced by the work he had done. He smiled nervously, "Thank you very much...there was alot of work put into them. I actually managed to buy the gems at a decent price, from someone who had been paid in raw gems at a Music shop. Straight from Villa de Miir no less, the woman obviously didn't know how much they were worth...poor thing." there was no sarcasm in his voice, he genuinely felt sorry for the woman who had been swindled. But it had been a very lucky break for him. He held up his hands for her to look at. Most of the wounds had healed, but there could still be seen, small red gashes healing. "I'm a bit of a novice at cutting stones, but my mother taught me well enough I think." he smiled.

The doe winced in sympathy at the sight of his cut hands, realizing that he must have been dealing with fresh wounds for weeks as a result of the work. "At least the end result will be worth it, yes?" she asked with a smile. "You're being quite handsomely paid for this commission. The money will be sent 'round to your address along with the favour, once His Majesty has finished the enchantment, likely sometime within the next few days. Do you need assistance in finding the exit? I know you've only been here twice now, and the palace can seem like a labyrinth if you aren't familiar with all the twists and turns."
If she hadn't been so painfully busy with preparations, she might have asked him about a future meeting then and there. Despite his ranking as only a five - hopefully he would see about raising that someday? - he showed great talent as an artisan and was a handsome specimen on top of that. He was also a Heart, of course, which counted for a great deal, and his bipedal form gave him a distinct advantage. It was often considered the first step to civility.
((We should probably wrap this up with your next post, giving you the finishing points - Dymphna certainly doesn't need them. XD))

Silvanus' mouth twitched with a bit of a smile at her wince, almost as if to say 'sorry to show you something so...bothersome'. "Yes, it will be well worth it. I am in great need of some money. I have...certain responcibilities to attend to now, that certainly don't come cheap." he laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck. With that remark he noded his head smiling to the beautiful Morganberry doe. "Escorting me to the exit would be most appreciative. I do have to admit, this place is still very confusing to me in terms of what room leads to where. Then again, I suppose, it is not everyday that one of my rank knows the palace like the back of their hand."
A rather bold move, Silvanus offered her the crook of his arm. He knew it was an extremely bold move for someone like him, and the back of his neck tingled with the want to be scratched, but he figured...he had his life...and some money to spare, why not be a tiny bit flirtatious. "I hope that maybe one day we can meet again? I do not know if His Majesty will ever hire me again, and even if he did, it would be an honor to have your company for tea one of these days." he smiled nervously. "My tea is nothing to rival anything here, I'm afraid, but I promise to show you a good time if you say yes." Bold, very bold....but he did fancy her a great deal, and there were some truth to his words. Who knew if he would ever be asked to the palace again?

Dymphna slowly raised a brow he proffered his arm. Should she take it? The action would certainly say something about her interests. Did she want to say that? To a Five?
Oh, why the hell not. It wasn't often that she so indulged herself. She was due a big of fun now and again, wasn't she?
Her eyes flicked up from his arm to meet his own as she delicately slid her hand across the fur of his forearm, tugging him towards the door and along the corridors of the palace. His proposition made her smile, though she kept it to the barest of curves. She didn't want to seem so forward herself. Another deer would certainly be a change from her usual.
"I suppose I wouldn't object to an afternoon tea sometime," she agreed lightly. "I'm rather fond of cranberry, myself."
Once they reached the palace gates, she stepped back and let her hand brush oh-so-lightly along his arm as she pulled away. "Until later, then." With a smile and the slightest inclination of her head, she turned and walked back through another door, off to continue with her work.

Silvanus gave her a toothy smile as she accepted his arm, but then settled to a more neutral look, more content then anything else before being escorted out. The raise of an eyebrow had worried him a little, he had worried he had offended her, but when she had accepted his arm he was much relieved. Though he wasn't about to boast about it as he wandered through the halls with a goofy grin. No...he would be stately like her as they left, best not to attract much attention...she didn't need people asking her why she was locked in arms with a 5.
"I am so glad to hear that. Ah, cranberry is a lovely flavor. I will be sure it is in stock at my house before your arrival." he said with another smile as she seperated from him and turned to leave. He bowed his head as they parted and she headed off. "I'm looking forward to it. Goodbye Dymphna!" and then he to turned to leave out of the gates. His tail wiggled in silent excited victory and there was a bounce in his step that had not been there when he had first entered the palace that day. He could hardly wait to tell Ophelia about his good fortune, and that their children would be recieving such a wonderful favor.
