Fino almost wanted to hit something as the child stammered out her apology, but knew that wouldn't accomplish anything except to scare her more. He hated feeling guilty before dishing out punishments, absolutely hated it. He almost never felt guilty about anything; why should this be any different?! If the doe hadn't opened her mouth, he could have just come down, meted out a sentence, and been done with the whole affair. But no. Of course things couldn't be that simple anymore.

The flat set of his lips bespoke annoyance and frustration, and the fingers of one hand tapped restlessly against his hip. In respect to Dymphna and Bernard's opinion, he would do something mild. Too mild for his tastes, but it didn't really matter, he supposed.

"At the advice of my aide, I will forego anything physical and leave you with a simple banishment. Effective immediately, you will not be permitted on the premises of the palace. All of the guards will be advised as such, and if you're ever seen within these grounds again, your punishment will be much more severe. Now. Get Out."

Little did he know just how devastating those words would likely be to the poor girl.

Her jaw dropped open at the words he had just spoken. Never…to come back? Never to see Dymphna or Temmin again? Never to see the white walls or roses? Never? The words rang through her head as she stood up bowed the best that she could with the shock still sinking into her little head as she hopped off the bed and quickly went through the door so that he wouldn’t see the tears streaming down her face. Any little chance she may have had to at least come and visit was gone. The two people who had shown her any real compassion were now gone from her life and it was like being hit with a ton of bricks. Part of her wished that he had just decided to keep her locked up. Yes, she would be stuck in that room but at least she could have stayed within the palace. Yet at the same time, she had her life didn’t she? She could now go back to Sebak right. When she finally reached the palace gates she turned and took one more look at the grounds behind her knowing that this was as close as she would ever be to this place she called a paradise again. She hung her head and sucked up her tears as she walked past the guards. This path for her was now blocked, barred and unattainable.
