Majida had wandered all over the city looking for Sebak. She had finally figured out where he was going during the day and as a result, she was worried about him. Drinking away one's pain was never a good idea and even though she had never tasted the stuff herself she didn’t know if she ever wanted to from what she had seen from the way it affected her caregiver.
She looked up at the sign near the door and sighed. This was the last one that she knew of and if he weren’t in here, she wouldn’t know where to look for him. Though he could be back to the cave, in which they called home, though she knew that the chances were slim. She just shook her head and stepped inside.
Her small form was not that of a child but yet not one of an adult. She looked very out of place here as she walked towards the bar to ask the keeper if he had seen Sebak. She paid little mind to the others in the bar as she wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Ashwin sat on a stool in front of the bar, his bipedal form slumped over a half-full glass. Next to him, several empty glasses of the same size sat until Furgus found time to clear them away in between serving the establishment's other patrons. He wasn't too far gone, but things had started to become fuzzy and he felt relaxed for the first time all day. Dealing with idiots always left him tense.
A feathery form walked up next to him and he blinked, looking over. His own region...always attractive...and wasn't she a cute young thing? Practically inviting attention, walking in here and looking like that. He leaned over to look at her face, smiling a little. "Well hello there. You look new to the area. Looking for a drink, little girl?"
With one hand, he reached out to pet the side of a wing almost lewdly. He would never touch someone like this sober without some kind of permission, but drunk...it just didn't matter so much whether they asked for it or not. As a Ten, they usually only got so mad before leaving or making up their mind otherwise. Of course, he was old enough to be her father. That didn't stop him even a second.

She jumped slightly when he addressed her, she hadn’t even noticed the man from her home region until his voice floated up and caressed her tiny ears. “Umm…well that is…no…not really…looking more for…” [/b]she stopped in her words as he stroked her wing. She tensed up and closed her eyes and swallowed hard. It reminded her of the encounter with Osais, which she still hadn’t quite recovered from. “…for some one…”[/b] she managed to finish her sentance once the shock of the touch which had jarred her memories faded. He was much older than her and she had to admit that in a way he was charming even if he was drunk. He was also the first person she had met up close from her region. “You haven’t seen a man from golfam marsh have you come in here have you?”[/b] her blue eyes were ones you could get lost in and it was those eyes that she looked into his own grey ones. He would be able to tell that even for how flighty she was, there was also a fire that burned within them. One that begged to be let out, but was slowly being suffocated.

Ashwin let his fingers play in the feathers of her wings and shook his head with an 'apologetic' smile. "So sorry, pretty thing, I haven't seen any Marshlanders besides our barkeep here and his ilk." With his long neck, he indicated Furgus's distinctive Josiggy brindle, shared by a handful of other patrons. There was almost no way of confusing the two.
Those blue eyes rather caugh his fancy and his smile widened just a bit at the fluttering little bird he saw trapped in her expression. Well then, perhaps she did want a bit of fun but was just too 'nice' a girl to admit it? That was fine. He didn't mind taking the initiative, making the first move, especially not with the alcohol pleasantly filling and warming his blue-furred form.
"I have, however, seen one old Ranger sitting all by his lonesome. I'm sure he could use a bit of company. How about you?" He let the arm fiddling with her plumage snake around her avian torso and pull her closer, almost onto his lap and certainly up against him. The stool was low enough that his balance wasn't thrown by the move, especially as he slid his body partway off to better support the contact, and now he could let of his drink to hold her loosely with both hands. He pet the feathers around her waist and smiled, a charming, drunk old lech.

She looked over in the direction that had motioned to and confirmed what he had said. “Oh I se…”[/b] she was interrupted as suddenly she was pulled towards him and scooped up before she had a chance to do anything about it. Finding herself in his lap was a bit shocking. Not once in her life had some one done anything like this to her that she could remember. She looked him over again as she took in his next phrase of words. The gesture was different then the advancement that Osais had ever taken towards her and in its own way, it was inviting. She had been in an adolescent stage for some time now and she was beginning to understand his advances, but only by watching other people and how they acted towards one another while she roamed the city. Company…hmm…could it hurt to stay here for a while longer? He seemed nicer then the other men in her life she had met and while he petted her feathers, she realized that her body seemed to want to stay with him for a while longer. Was there any harm with talking for a while before starting back home? She decided that there wasn’t and answered the older sorgaire range male. “Some company for a while would be nice.”[/b] She smiled back at him in her bird like way “But why did you choose a bar of all places to be? Aren’t there nicer places then this?”[/b]

She didn't resist, didn't struggle, just held herself there in surprise while he pet her pretty feathers. What a charming girl! He already knew Furgus would be rolling his eyes at yet another attempted pickup. Some were successful, some weren't, and the bartender had seen him leave with a girl on his arm more than once. He didn't rarely get patrons this young, though. The girl couldn't be older than sixteen, maybe fifteen...maybe younger. Who knew and who the hell cared? Certainly not Ashwin.
The gapped-beak avian smile and innocent question made him chuckle a little. "Oh sure, there are nicer places to spend my time. Furgus and I go back a ways, though, and he runs a good bar. Besides, I get to meet so many interesting people here. Like you. You're an interesting person." His hands settled more comfortably, resting against her side while the fingers lightly moved and rubbed through plush feathers. It was an innocent enough touch at this point, though their position and his reputation made it anything but. "So what should I call you? I'm Ashwin, by the way."
Introductions, a necessary thing. Not a time-waster, though, not while he could keep his hands busy and his body warm.

“Oh I see”[/b] she said as she settled into her spot on his lap. She was actually quite comfortable where he had placed her and soon she would start warming up like she normally would with people she just met. “I’m Majida, but most call me Maji.”[/b] she sat and thought for a second as his name ran through her head. Ashwin, his name sounded quite familiar as she searched where she had heard it before and then it suddenly dawned on her. Could he be the same Ashwin she had heard of while wondering the streets? Was the one who raised and sold banders in that shop she had wandered by so many times before hoping to catch a glimpse of those beautiful, yet deadly creatures she had seen in many places. Her thoughtful look turned into a vocal question, “Are you the Ashwin I have heard about? The one that raises those pretty banders I have seen around town?”

His attention was distracted as she shifted around on his lap to get more comfortable, but her words brought him back into focus. They actually drew a pleased laugh out of him and he hugged her closer, figuring it to be as good an excuse as any to feel up more of her without many questions. "Yes indeed, you've hit it exactly! I knew there was a reason I liked you from the moment I saw you."
Several of the men around him coughed or sniggered into their glasses but he firmly ignored them all. In his head, he was laughing too. "So you're a bander fan, then? Have you only seen them on the streets, or have you gotten a chance to see them up close?"
An idea stewed in his fuzzed mind, an absolutely perfect idea, and he beamed at her. "In fact, if you like them enough to have learned my name, maybe I can even take the time to introduce you to a few back home! I live right above my shop, which is only about a block from here, if you wanted to meet some of them." Oh yes. They wouldn't even have to spend time at the bar! He had a few drinks back home he could feed her, loosen her up a little...though really, she seemed amenable enough as it was.

She blushed slightly at his complement of his liking her, not many people showed her any kind of attention and his weakened her defenses even more. “I do like banders, but alas I have never seen one up close.”[/b] She stopped and thought for a second “Well…I take that back…I saw one once up close…she ran away from me actually…she was so pretty though, such a vibrant red color with the contrasting black. I’ve havnt seen her since then though…”[/b] she recalled her experience with the queen of hearts and her eyes saddened for a second as she remembered that she would never be able to go there again. Her look of sadness was quickly dismissed as he invited her to his place to see the banders “Really? You would do that for me?”[/b] she was stunned, why was he so nice to her while others had not been? She turned her head to look him in the face and nodded “I would like that a lot”[/b] she smiled as her blue eyes shinning with excitement.

Those pale blue eyes looking up at him like that warmed more than his heart and the pine martin dug into his pocket, grabbing a few coins and tossing them onto the counter without really looking at what they were. "Oh yes, I would indeed. How could I possibly deny another bander enthusiast, especially such an enchanting creature as you? It's simply impossible."
He maneuvered his way off of the stool, one arm letting go of her while the other kept a light contact with her wing. Were she bipedal, he would have wrapped it around her waist and held her close on the walk there, but unfortunately that would just about prevent her from walking in this instance. At least he could keep minimal contact with his own hands as he ushered her towards the door and back out into the crisp autumn night. He kept his pace casual and his smile never faltered.
Whether she was inviting this or whether she genuinely didn't understand the innuendo, he couldn't tell. It didn't really matter, if he could get her back to his apartment and get a drink or two in her. "So, tell me a little bit about yourself. Been in the city for a while, or are you new?" Similar questions would be directed her way, light and not too probing, until they reached the door to his shop in about five minutes.
