Ashwin woke to the feeling of a fluffy body moving against him and a thickness on his tongue that suggested he went to bed drunk. So, the night had been a good one? He cast back in his memory and recalled the pretty young blue thing currently snuggled close, walking into the bar and turning into an easy pickup just like that. He brought her back, boozed her up, undressed, and by the time things had gotten heated they moved to the bed for more space. Yes, he remembered that now.
And she was still here? A pleasant surprise, at least as long as she stayed sweet and didn't start having a panic attack or anything unpleasant like that. She had obviously been a virgin the night before. And an orphan, he now remembered. Hmm. He might be able to keep things on the right foot. A nice, calm morning was always preferable.
One furry arm moved out to hug her loosely, his body shifting around to face her and tuck her closer to his chest rather than his side. "Good morning, pretty bird. How did you sleep?"

She smiled in her bird like way when he rolled over and pulled her closer. She liked this and she hoped that it would never end. “Morning, and very well Ashwin”[/b] she replied she liked it when he called her that. She preened the fur that was closest to her beak. She liked the way he smelled too. Everything about him was oozing into her senses and now that she could think more clearly, she realized that she was liking him more and more despite their age difference. She wanted to stay here with him and wake up like this every morning. Warm and safe and not cold and afraid like she usually did. It was a nice change for once and it was one that she did not want to end. She wished that she could tell him how much she wanted to stay here with him but she also did not want to impose either. Therefore, she kept her thoughts silent but her expression showed that something was bothering her.

"You sure you're alright?" Ashwin asked in a relaxed but mildly curious tone. That was the only questioning she was likely to get out of him. The preening was a nice touch, though. He hadn't had a girl do that to his fur in quite some time, not since that little Josiggy number who wanted a bander. Her tongue and beak could do wonders. There was a lot to be said for experience in a woman. Of course, she wasn't nearly so sweet as Maji had been, and she cracked one or two jokes about his age every time she saw him. He could only laugh about it so many times with a twenty-something knowitall.
He shifted a little and pulled away slightly. "Hey... how about some breakfast? I can't make much in the way of 'fine dining', but scrambled eggs and toast are easy enough. Hungry at all?"
His hangover wasn't bad enough that food didn't sound appetizing, especially after a busy night. If he didn't eat breakfast, he always got a little more tetchy. Some coffee... some eggs... toast with fresh strawberry jam... yes, that sounded like a good way to start things.

She stayed silent for a few moments while she debated on telling him what was wrong. She decided against telling him her feelings “Mmm…yeah...I’m okay”[/b] it didn’t sound very convincing but she didn’t want to impose and she knew that she would be okay…she had been rejected before right? This would not be any different except in the aspect that she could come back here when she wanted to right?
Her eyes lit up at the mention of food and her stomach growled. She had not eaten much the day before which she was use to but the mention of a free meal had always appealed to her whenever some one offered. She blushed slightly embarrassed that she could not contain her stomach from betraying how hungry she was. “That would be wonderful, thank you, any meal is a good one”[/b] she smiled happily, perhaps a bit too much. She had tried to contain her excitement as best as she could, but obviously failed.

Ashwin took the 'okay' at face value for the time being, reaching his stubbily-clawed paw forward to rake back the feathers on her head gently before moving away. He slid off the bed with a loud yawn and stretched, hearing more pops and snaps than he would like. It would have been even worse if they'd stayed on that cushion. His lower back and hips would be complaining something fierce. He hated having to hobble around in the morning, so... bed it was.
Hearing movement from the general vicinity of the bedroom, he could hear Treasach jump from whichever roost he had found and pad to just outside the door. Several coughs and a light scratching let him know that the bander was also quite ready for breakfast. As soon as he stepped out the door, they would all be awake and staring at him, starting to make a fuss. He didn't usually sleep in quite so late unless he had company.
"Toast and eggs it is, then. Maybe some coffee to go along with it." Nodding, he walked towards the door and put a foot out to block any entry into the room. Once his bander got under the bed, it was hell trying to get him out again. With a quick motion, he opened the door, made a block, and slipped out into the main room. Seventeen pairs of dark eyes stared him down.
Yes, it was time for breakfast.

When his hand ran though her head feathers she could have just melted right there. Never in her life had she ever been so happy. Suddenly before she knew it, he was getting up and moving away from her to fetch breakfast for not only the both of them but the banders it seemed as well when she also heard the noise from the other room.
She nodded to Ashwin as he reiterated what he was going to make for the meal back to her and watched him leave the room. She sat up in the bed and looked towards the window from which the sunlight was making its appearance. She decided to wait here for Ashwin left in such a way as that he did not want Treasach in here, which was probably for the best since she did not really know much about the creatures as it was.
She made her way back to the cave and thought about the morning’s occurrences. She was quite happy and almost did not notice that Sebak was there passed out in his usual spot. He had fallen asleep without his cloak on and it seemed that he had also forgotten to bank the fire to keep it from going out. She gently placed the clothing over to him and left the cave they called home. Today was a new day and he was safe and she, well she felt like having a bath.
