It took the mix a good minute to get over his surprise under control. There was no mistaking that he had just seen a piece of paper float in the air. No one could pull of a prank like that, not even Se for all the winged-mix would believe it.
"Asher?" He asked, trying to bring his attention back to the situation at hand. Yet another jolt of surprise stunned him for a moment as after that utterance suddenly someone was there, someone that was distinctly holding up that piece of paper.
All of his previous agitation forgotten he stared at the fox who apparently had three tails to boot. That was definitely something he had not yet seen. "Where did you just come from?" He asked, slowly moving closer toward the fox to see if he was really standing there behind the counter or if it was yet another trick.
This shop had just officially gotten so much cooler.

The fox tilted his head to the side, a little confused by the mix's question. "Well I was in the back and then I came out." He answered a little weakly. Something told him that that was not really the answer to the question that had been asked him. It was confirmed a moment later when the mix replied,
"I meant just now. You were holding up that piece of paper and I saw no one, but then you suddenly appeared." The mix gave him a thoughtful look for a moment before continuing, "It was after I said your name. Why is that?"
The fox could not help but notice that the mix was making his way closer to him. Becoming more nervous he said a little squeakily, "I was standing here the whole time" What would this customer think if he explained the real situation to him? Dare he even try it. It did not seem that the male was going to let up any time soon either way.

Coming to a stop right on the other side of the counter, the mix stared at the fox, finally deciding that the fellow male was indeed real.
"Well if you were standing there the whole time, then why did I not see you one moment but happened to see you in the next. You will have to agree with me that that is not really a normal daily occurrence, especially if one remains in the same spot."
What was it that the fox had managed to do? He would almost dare to say that the fox had been invisible. But not that was impossible . . . was it not? After hanging out with Se for so long, he had long learned that there were some things you just could not explain, and yet more that was possible that one would not expect.
"What is it that really happened?" His tone had a demanding quality to it.

"Well, no it really is not a normal occurrence," the fox agreed a little hesitantly.
He hesitated for a moment longer before deciding for a moment to try for the truth. It really did not seem like the mix would really stop at anything less, if he even stopped at that explanation.
"Well you see . . . I am not sure if I know how to explain this properly . . . " He mumbled a few tries, cleared his throat and then after another hesitation, blurting out. "I am in-invisible but when someone says my name they seem to be put at ease." He gave a weak shrug. While he believed this to be a truth, never was there a doubt in his mind about that, there was something . . . something about this odd mix that put a little hesitation into his answer.

The mix stared blankly at him for a moment. The fox could not be serious, could he? Invisible? How absorb. There was no way that fox had been invisible just a few moments ago . . . though that did explain a lot of what had happened, if indeed the fox was telling him the truth.
"You mean to tell me then, that you were invisible and when I said your name you what? Became un-invisible? What do you take me for?" His tone was condescending.
At the fox's small head shake he raised an eyebrow. "I never become un-invisible, sir. You are just better able to sense me." Though the fox's voice was low the mix could not deny the fact the the fox spoke the truth - well a truth that the fox obviously believed.
He gave a short laugh, "Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but I can indeed see you. You are standing there, as clear as daylight. Nothing invisible-like about you."

The fox stared up at the mix in horror after the mix's words. He was lying. There was no other way about it. He was invisible. His father had said so, there was no way that his father would lie to him. No! He was invisible. The mix was the one that was mistaken. How dare he!
"I am sorry, sir, but I am indeed invisible. I can not explain why people are better able to sense me when they say my name, it is just the way of it." He glared at the mix, his tails waving a little in agitation. How dare he!
"Now, sir. What is it that I can do for you?" He demanded though he made a conscious effort to keep his voice unoffensive and business-like. He was determined to bring the topic back to what it was that the mix had wanted before the issue of himself had arisen.

He was silent for a moment, trying to decide what it was that he was going to due about the situation at hand. He could easily push the topic on, though he would have to be outright rude about it. Having been taught to be more tactful with situations then outright rudeness - at least when it was possible - he decided to grant a reprieve.
After all, what did it matter to him if the fox thought that he was invisible.
"Ah, that . . . well I wanted to purchase the piece of artwork over there, the diamond one." He motioned toward where he had previous been standing with a nod of his head. It would work well for what he had in mind. I really was sad that he had to buy such precious work for his own uses, it would do him much better to buy the diamonds unused. He would have to find a supplier.

The fox gave a mental sigh of relief when the mix did indeed drop the topic. His shoulders relaxing he brought himself back to the new topic at hand, serving a customer. Not wanting to wish the customer ill he was just ready for the mix to be gone from the shop. Determined to do just that he glanced over toward where the mix had motioned.
"Easily done" He replied with a nod and small smile. He made quick work of gathering up the requested jewelry, marking in the appropriate books, taking the payment and then finally wrapping it up for the mix. "Will that be all for you sir?" he asked, to which the mix only replied with a nod of his head. "I bid you a good day, then." The fox said in reply, smiling as he handed over the box to its' new owner.

The mix gave a nod of his head. "It was a pleasure doing service with you," he replied, a glint of mischief in his eyes, though he said nothing else.
Taking the ribbon that was wrapped around the box in his mouth he turned to exit the shop. Hearing the bell chime his leaving he repressed a growl. He really did hate that bell. Maybe when he visited next time it would disappear.
It had definitely been an odd turn of events. Though he was not sure how, if at all, to continue to mess with the fox's head. It seemed like something that would prove to be very entertaining.
He would have to tell Se about what had happened and let him decide what to do.
Yes a very interesting turn of events indeed. Humming to himself around the ribbon he set off back for the Heart Court.
