Igni grinned for real this time, a nice open smile. "Little did father know I'd literally gain fire to go with my name. . " She trailed off at the end and looked rather shocked at herself. Had she spoken too much? She watched the other Doe carefully, not wanting to upset her. However the smile came back quickly at the motherly display of affection for the yet unborn babies.

"Children are wonderful, it livens up the whole Warren." She'd been around younger children in her Warren. Her father had had quite a few does, and she always loved playing with the little ones when she was a leveret. They never judged when they were very little. Their only thoughts centered about having a good time, and the love the carried for those who cared for them. Children really were a wonderful thing.

"Any names you like?" She asked meekly, standing up a bit straighter now that her ears were clean. She'd have to remember to say thank you.

Oh! What a cute, audacious little thing! Ashta giggled at the Doe's comment, for she was now starting to break out of that frightened little shell. "Oh yes, children are a very important part of a warren. I'm very much looking forward to it. I've so much to teach them in the ways of the Hisstor, and the Czar... well, he wishes to teach them the ways of Highland pride. I fully expect all of my children to make something of themselves." Her expression was quite unmoving when she said that. Obviously, he children would have little choice in the matter, for their mother certainly had things planned out for them even though they were still within her body.

"I'm hoping to carry on the family tradition and bring forth Does.. or at least leverets with the drive to improve themselves. I was born a Doe, you see." Oh yes, she was quite proud of that particular tidbit of information."And if I sire males.... If I -dare- happen to have one of those.. Yes, he must bring Honor to the family." She knew the Czar was tolerable of male leverets, but she certainly didn't want to fall out of his favor by bringing him males... especially useless ones. She frowned just a bit at that, her gaze momentarily worried.

She brightened though, when Igni mentioned names. "Oh yes. I'm quite fond of names that start with 'A'. I don't want to be overly hasty in choosing names before I see the children. I want the name to fit them, not fit them into the name."

Igni listened with interest. She had never really been out of Morganberry. In fact this transfer to the Highlands was the very first travelling she had ever done. She hadn't even really heard stories of other realms and their traditions. She had always just supposed that Ashta's bones were something common where she came from, not having information to judge otherwise. At least she was more open-minded than most rabbits, or so she guessed. An eyebrow quirked as Igni realized just how ignorant she really was.

"Miss Ashta. . you keep speaking of 'them'. Do you . . know you're having more than one child?" She asked gently. She didn't want to be too nosey, but she just seemed so 'sure'. She was honestly curious if the stories she'd heard of a mother's instinct was true.

"I hope one day I can gift a Jack with children." She said very quietly.

[Nako]

"If I'm not having more than one.. then I am very much afraid that I am going insane!" She laughed, finding the utmost hilarity in what she had said. Obviously she hadn't yet realized that she actually -was- a bit crazy.

Finally she sobered though, sighing lightly before patting her stomach once more. "I appear far too gravid for being as far along as I am, you see... and I watch my stomach when they kick.. there are just.. too many little feet to be just one.. too many little skulls pressing against my skin as they roll about.. Oh no dearest, there can't be just one." Well, regardless of whether there was just one or maybe more, the Doe seemed quite sure.

Ashta's gaze locked onto the Doe with a strange intensity when the Doe whispered her wishes into the silence, but it quickly melted into the slow grin as she reached out and pet the Doe once more on her soft, floppy ear. "I'm sure you will eventually, dearheart. To tell the truth, I hadn't expected it to happen so quickly to myself, either. Sometimes it takes a year or two before the Jack can finally catch a Doe on her cycle. Not even -we- know when it is the right time."

Igni smiled a little uncertainly at the odd look on Ashta's face. She really was a nice Doe, and Igni found herself liking her quite a bit. But the Morganberry was just a little unsure around some of the stranger reactions and expressions by the Hisstor. But the Doe's observations made sense. If there were more than 4 feet moving around in there, there was certainly more than one baby.

Igni smiled again, this time comfortable, as Ashta petted her on her ear. "Thank you. . ." She answered quietly. "It's all I hope for really. To be a good Doe, and have baby girls for the Warren."

She was hesitant to ask, but slowly she moved a bit to face Ashta better.

"May I?" She asked quietly, making a motion like she'd like to pet Ashta's stomach. Igni surprised herself, by asking, really. And she was completely ready to be shot down.

"Oh! I don't mind at all!" Ashta was practically glowing with happiness that Igni had taken such a shine to her situation, and that she actually felt happy for her. It was much better than having a Doe that hated everything about her.

"There.. there goes one right there.." Quickly, she grabbed one of Igni's paws quickly to place it on her belly, right when one of the little rabbit skulls pressed against the skin. "Oh!" Ashta exclaimed in surprise, but quickly smiled to reassure the fiery Doe. "They are getting stronger every day. Their kicks are becoming uncomfortable. I do so love them being so close to me, but I'm beginning to look forward to the time when they will be born... Oh.. there's a foot..." Carefully, she guided Igni's paw to the new location of movement. "I think they like you already"
