Oh dear. Theofilus' feathers ruffled in slight anxiety. "Well, Dear Feline, we may have a problem with crashing. Well, I may have a problem crashing. You on the other hand have it a bit easier." Quite literally. Hopefully Pravus would catch on to that meaning...
Apparently the canine was close to having some sort of melt down because of them. That wouldn't do good at all.
As for places to stay... he sure as hell wasn't going to stay in that "house." That couldn't be livable, let alone sleep worthy.
"Do you have any suggestions at all for a place to stay, Feline?" Either way night would not be pleasant. That lion who had sauntered off was apparently a source of interest for the canine and the feline. And he seemed to be the cause of the conniptions. Something was very wrong here. Theofilus felt the need to escape, but he had no idea how far the capital was. It was probably too far to travel in the dark--he could only imagine what horrible things awaited them then.
Please Pravus. Suggest something reasonable.

Pravus hissed "Enough. . . I'm sick of this game." He leapt off the porch and shifted back into his animal form, his body twisting in painful ways as he did so. The smell was getting to him, and the disgusting locals were starting to cause an itch between his shoulders. That lion was. . .of interest perhaps but no, he'd had enough. He began to stalk quickly towards the outskirts of the village, assuming that the bird would follow shortly after.
His fur began to ruffle in irritation. So far the lowlands hadn't bothered him this bad, then again he hadn't exactly tried 'interacting' with anyone. He growled beneath his breath as he continued forwards. Oh.. . how Pravus wished he could just rip everyone to shreds. "Captainnnn" he growled, demanding they leave as he moved.

As the two travelers left the village, many pairs of eyes stared after them. Never had that small place been graced by the likes of them. There would be talk flying every which way. The canine just sat on his porch and shuddered, wondering if his brother would live through whatever was to come. Wondering how much he cared.
...wondering if his woman would still be around after they were done. Maybe he could lay a claim. She seemed 'obedient' enough.
Walking for perhaps half an hour, eventually Theo and Pravus would realize that no accommodations were forthcoming. Their only options were soggy fields with failed crops, the harder packed road, grass that looked rife with 'wildlife', or an abandoned wooden cart. Sleep under the night sky on the soggy ground? Or sleep under the night sky on a barely-stable wood frame? My, such choices...

One thousand curses couldn't describe how angry Theo was at the situation. This was not a reasonable solution to the night. He angrily shifted to his animal form and glared at his feline companion.
It wasn't exactly his fault they were out in the middle of nowhere, but he hadn't suggested any bright ideas. "I don't think any of this is very safe." The sparrow would have growled if he could muster it. He eyed the cart with distaste. It was that or the soggy ground. "I don't like the idea of sleeping in the open, we should probably use that...and set up a watch between the two of us."
Theofilus was surprised he could talk with all of his frustration. As long as he lived he would never travel to this corner of hell ever again. He promised himself that. He was well aware of how much he stood out, white in a see of brown.

Pravus returned the glare with a blank gaze, a darkness welling beneath them. " . . Yes?" He asked, movements stilling to nothing. He watched the bird with that dark look "Of course it's not safe, I'll keep watch." He stalked a few metres away and faced outwards, stoppiing the conversation. He was not about to sleep and let the avian watch over him.
Theofilus seemed smart but. . he trusted himself more. Though of course, Pravus thought with a smirk, who would he trust to be as ruthless as they had to be. His Queen. . . yes he would have trusted his Queen but unfortunately, that was the only other besides himself.
"Just go to sleep." Pravus said monotonely. It was going to be a long night.

((Still ask that you beef up the previous post, Spidey-luff <3))
The night passed fairly uneventful for the restlessly-sleeping bird and watchful feline. Temperatures were unpleasantly chill with the sun down, an icy sliver of breeze wending its way past the cart and keeping them from anything resembling true comfort. It was still mid-autumn, but nighttime weather was never as nice as the day.
A small group of three locals passed by at one point, stopping to eye the bright white forms resting in the cart with interest before they realized Pravus's dark eyes were trained on them and quickly scuttled off into the soggy fields next to the road, away from the feline. They weren't touching that, not awake and in the middle of the night. Their squelching steps could be heart for some time after that along with the natural sounds of the outdoors.
Morning dawned crisp and clear with a bite to the air that would likely recede when the sun got its groove on in the sky.

By some grace of the heavens Theofilus managed to get some form of sleep. Though he could hardly call himself rested by the time the sun peaked over the horizon. It felt as if someone had dropped a brick on his head in the middle of the night, and never bothered to remove it. The faint light was a gracious welcome. At least he could now stop pretending to be asleep.
The outlook on today simply looked horrifying. He looked to the feline, apparently he had stayed up the entire night. Thank heaven's for that club ability... assuming he used it.
"We should get going," Theofilus said. It wasn't a suggestion even if it sounded like one. They had a long road ahead of them, and the sooner they got to the capital the better. The sparrow would probably fly most of the way, it would be far easier. He was tired of the quest already and they had just entered the Lowlands.
He knew full well that soon her would be relying on entirely too much magic his own good. By the end of this trip he was going to tired of using the good old diamond charm.
In mid step he turned to Pravus and asked, "How are you feeling?" It was a stupid question, sure, but he threw it out on the table none the less.

Pravus sat quietly by the whole night. Every once in a while he'd pad a ways away, scouting out the surrounding area, keeping his eye on the bird the whole time. It was boring, this waiting and watching. He revelled in the wariness of the travellers as they saw his dark gaze, and in the fact that they'd rather walk away than deal with him.
Slowly, in cat form, he stalked towards the bird. So. . . interesting he was. So to-do, and yet, Pravus had the distinct impression that if he was pushed he could be formidable. Quietly he shifted into bipedal form and continued forwards. His nose lowered towards the avian, and he slowly drew in a breath, mouth slightly open. He smelled like food, but dangerous food. Perhaps he would find himself thankful for the pairing that the Queen had given him.
One paw-like hand reached forwards, a claw extending to trail gently down Theo's cheek. He sighed a little, he missed his Queen, and the smell of the roses. Soon he'd be home.
The sun began to rise and Pravus, back in feline form, stretched. His back popping in odd and painful ways, and a grimace stretching his face. He nodded, "Yes, we should go."
He halted. . . a brow raising at the next question as he remembered the smell of the avian from the night before. ". . . Fine." And he began to stalk down the road.

The road led them past more fields, with one or two showing half-hearted harvests taking place with the autumn. None of the laborers wore a smile, eking out every last edible part of the plants they stripped. People were out early and a few passed them on the path, but they all kept their eyes to the ground after a quick glance and most skittered off of the road proper while the two obviously foreign and powerful Cards passed. None of them looked to be above a Six, and most were Four or lower. These were the wandering poor, for the most part.
The sun did indeed burn away some of the chill, shining brightly down on the desolate scene. By the time it hit mid-day, they would be able to see something on the horizon that might just be the Capital of the region. There were more people on the road, more laborers passing by and one or two of indiscernible profession.
Rather than entering city limits proper, they would first pass by various shacks and shanty towns, erected in desperation and in deplorable condition. The smell, again, was overpoweringly bad.

Pravus glared blankly at the scum that surrounded them. So disgusting. And the majority of them such a low rank, fitting of their homeland he supposed. Anytime he caught so much as a glance he sneered, baring fang as his deformed body slunk by down the road. "Filth" He spat beneath his breath before looking at the bipedal avian and then turning his eyes back to the road ahead.
He was thankful for the sun as it began to warm up and he stretched a few steps out to allow his muscles a bit of a rest. A small growl trickled as a particularly ugly lowlander stumbled a little too close for his liking.
"Let's go straight to the capital. I want to check out an inn, see what we might be staying in tonight before running around to track down anybody."
He purposely ignored all the shacks and buildings as they continued towards city.
