She shrugged and nodded before glancing back at the marsh. "Yeah, that's probably the best idea. Night is a terrible time to be in there hunting for strangers." Even she could admit that when evening fell she normally locked herself up in her shop with her current apprentice- literally. She was a little sad to see him go, as Rindal had been her only company for months now, and she was a little low on the company.
She noticed him pause and her ears visibly perked. Had he changed his mind? That would be a mixed blessing. Well perhaps she could convince him to wait until morning to hunt for this mystery person and instead she could introduce him to her workshop and all the neat little things she'd made over the years. The guest bedroom was normally reserved for Rindal, but the hardy male had no qualms with sleeping on the floor, and often did to ease his muscles after a hard day of work. Soft beds made him cramp up.
"Well, there is myself. But I'd have no place to stay, and I suppose I should mention this is the farthest I've ever been from the marsh. And I have an apprentice of my own, I'm teaching him metal crafting, though he doesn't dislike those little jewel baubles like I do, so he could be very flexible in that way." She was rambling in sudden surprise, she'd never had a proposition like this offered to her before, never been in the busy Capital even once. Sometimes she thought that sounded scarrier than walking blind through the marsh alleyways.
She didn't know if she could handle the change. Varuna was tough and weathered simply because of where she'd grown up, and it was bewildering her to admit that something actually made her nervous.

This was useful information indeed and it seemed that it might be able to work to both of their advantages. He thought things through for a moment before saying, “Is there a way that I could see some of your work? It does not have to be now, though there is no time like the present.”
He currently did not have anything pressing on his hands, so he was pretty much up for anything.
“If everything works out and you are interested, I would be more then glad to have some of your works on sale. It would also be a good chance for your apprentice to have his work seen, and a small income never hurt anyone. I am sure something could be worked out if you did not want to leave your current location for that of the Capital. But all of those details can be ironed out if we are agreed.”

She started rubbing her hands together anxiously, considering what to show him. Most of it was useless stuff that only she found to be truly interesting, but she did have a few choice pieces which she knew had not sold only because of cost. She'd been anal and priced them so that she'd only have to let go of them if someone unusually rich happened upon them. She was a bit of a... pack rat sometimes.
"Oh yes, right, examples. You'll have to let me escort you to my workshop then, my apprentice is watching the shop anyway and I'll have to talk to him." She nodde rapidly and began to turn in the other direction when the vermin male spoke again, answering some of her other frantically spewn out questions. Well, at least he had been paying attention, and not disregarding her fears. Money talked, but this would be quite a new and unexpected experience.
"Really? That, yes, extra income, would be nice. Rindal needs the exposure more than I do, but business is scarce in the marsh lately, even for me." The last would give a hint at her previous popularity, which had dropped significantly in only weeks. She was one of the finest from her homeland, if not the very finest, and so it was bizarre to have her shop be so frequently deserted.

He watched her, taking in the change of personality. It really was quite a change though he was sure she would not want anyone to point it out – not that he would be one to do it.
He chewed over his choices. This was the perfect opportunity for him to follow her and gain some expert people to help him in his plans; however, he was a little concerned with the disadvantages it could put him at. While he could defend himself he would not be able to make it out of a more diverse situation if more then one person decided that they would take a liking to him. After a moments thought and hesitation he decided that he might as well head to her workshop.
“Well if you are willing then lead the way to your workshop. I would like to take this chance to meet this apprentice of yours as well, if you do not mind.”

"Ah, yes... he's a bit of a... territorial male, he might not take well to me inviting you in, just... disregard any macho male bull he tries on you." Well, surely Aderlass would know how to counteract it with his own egocentric display of dominance. Men were just like that. She turned in the other direction again and gathered up the materials she'd used to make her little joke project, storing them half in the tree and half under a thick pricky bush nearby. Nobody would bother with them anyway, but she still liked to clean up a little.
She picked up the rest of the small sheets of metal and clear rope and stuffed it into a bag that she then began to carefully drag in her mouth. "This way, then." She mumbled over the material in her mouth, and began to quickly scurry downwards into the marsh. The sunlight slowly dissapeared in sheets of broken light, and she felt the familiar damp chill of home. To her, it was a comfort, Aderlass however, might not have been so comfortable.
She felt weird inviting a stranger into her home without even knowing his name, so she figured she'd break down and initiate the whole introductions things. "So you got a name?" She of course wouldn't volunteer hers until after he had. She was... stubborn like that.

Kasatsu and Tigs both receive 1 token each, to be redeemed in Ashwin's Shoppe. This will automatically be added to your recorded totals in the shoppe. Congratulations, and keep up the good RP!

I can take care of myself so I am sure that we will get along just fine.” He watched her as she separated her supplies into two different piles. He though about offering to help but after the treatment he had seemed to receive from her it seemed a wiser idea to just let her do it.
When she was done with her clean up – hiding her supplies – he began to follow her, to where, hopefully, her shop was actually located. “The name is Aderlass. He gave a slight bow with his head as he said his name when she asked. Silently waiting for her to offers her’s, as it was polite.
He was truly interested in this female. He had come across a lot of interesting people, though not so much with someone who had treated him like she had. While this female might amuse him he was hoping that her nature was not so with all the other people from Golfam Marsh.

"Mmmhmm, sure thing hon." She rolled her eyes, smirking to herself though he couldn't see. Either he hadn't been to the marsh before, or he had been drunk upon entering. Not many people were so sure of themselves upon entering, and though they'd only begun to get a taste of the atmosphere, he didn't seem to be loosing his composure. Hm. Brownie points for him, then.
She considered his name for a moment, it sounded familiar, or maybe she just liked the sound of it. She couldn't decide between the two options just yet. "Varuna. If you were from around here, I'd say I'm sure you've heard of me, but you're not, so I won't." She scoweled a little as she stepped in a big puddle of hardening mud. It was just wet enough to throw her off balance, and she paused for a moment to suck her hand out of it. Pleasant.
"Watch your step." She commented dryly, visibly hunching in on herself in discomfort. She wasn't one for getting dirty, so one might ask why she lived in a marsh. Well... that was a whole 'nother story. The light had almost vanished entirely, leaving only the dim glow from the lanters which were hung in various points around the city. They had been enchanted recently after some young punk decided it would be funny to go through and break them all. She had been meaning to go grocery shopping that night, so she'd been very displeased.
She could spot the shop from their current location and seemed to perk up, her steps quicken in what looked like excitement, but really, it was just relief that she'd get to wash her hands. Yich.
