Kelasia flushed again, moving slowly to sit down next to the man, smoothing her tail beside her nervously. ”I was pleased to do it,” she answered quietly, relieved that the man wasn’t getting sick. Her mother had brought her up to make her bed pretty much immediately after rising, so it wasn’t any real effort for her at all to do the same here. She was simply glad that he wasn’t for some reason upset that she had done so.
She shook her head about the table, though she certainly wouldn’t mind getting to see Treasach again before she left. It was highly irregular for her to not eat a table, but she wasn’t worried about it at all. As long as Ashwin was fine with it, then all was well. She watched him surreptitiously, not wanting to eat the breakfast the wrong way, then followed suit as the mustelid began. She tilted her head, pale eyes going briefly wide again in pleasure. ”This is very good,” she offered softly.

Ashwin thought she must just be a bundle of nerves by nature, and resolved to smooth over it as he'd been doing. It seemed to be working. At least she wasn't having a near panic attack anymore. He'd be glad for a shower himself later on in the day after she left, but for now his fur was sticking up at entertaining angles from sleep and he didn't much care. His own tail stuck out behind and to the side, fuzzy and mussed and just as blue as hers.
"Glad you like," he replied with an amiable smile. "I don't have much variety in my cooking, but I've gotten good at eggs and toast over the years. I still tend to burn pancakes, though." He snorted a little at himself and took another bite.
A few more minutes went by and he drank most of his coffee and some of his juice. "So in terms of your 'perfect bander', I should be able to call up some breeders I know and get back to you within a few days. Maybe a week to get him here at most, once I figure out where he is. Does that work for you?"

Kelasia gave him a faint, soft smile as she continued to eat. She had to be careful because she was rather prone to dripping unless she was paying attention and she didn’t want to make a mess here. ”I have some trouble with cooking myself,” she admitted softly. ”I’m better at baking.” Her mother had often said it was because she didn’t pay close enough attention during cooking, and Kel was prone to agree. She could generally keep focused long enough to mix things together and, with baking, she could then stick it in the oven and set a timer before forgetting about it.
When Ashwin began talking of banders again, the skunk perked up and her pale eyes went hopefully up to his face. A week tops? She could handle that. Her excitement returned swiftly and she nearly seemed to glow with it. ”That’s perfect!” she exclaimed softly turning to smile at him and managing to knock her egg and send a small splatter of yolk across the tray. ”Oh! I’m sorry!” She grabbed a napkin to clean it up, threatening her coffee mug despite herself.

"Ahh, I wish I could bake," the pine martin commented regretfully. "There's nothing nicer than a pile of hot cookies to torment the critters with, since chocolate's not exactly the best food for them. They get so nosy about it." Whatever people might say about Ashwin, most of his life revolved around the creatures he cared for.
He smiled at her enthusiasm and looked up just in time to see her food fly and her hand dart out with a napkin. Making a startled noise in the back of his throat, he reached out to grasp her coffee mug just before its weight sliding to the edge of the tray could send the whole mess clattering to the floor. His own plate slid off his knee to land nearly sideways against his leg, but it had already been emptied and so spilled nothing but a few crumbs. "Careful there," he cautioned, voice laced with amusement.

”Oh!” the skunk gasped haplessly, repeating herself in her embarrassment. ”I’m so sorry!” She froze for a moment as his plate slipped off of his knee and dumped its contents, few as they were, onto the bedspread. ”I am sorry,” she murmured, voice gone low as her excitement faded in lieu of her shame. She was always such a clutz! And now she was messing up Ashwin’s nice bed, because she couldn’t just hold things and talk at the same time! ”I didn’t mean to make a mess.” Which was, of course, a lame thing to say. Obviously she hadn’t –meant- to make a mess. She flushed darkly and tried to think of some way to cover that. She had nothing.
”All cookies or just those with chocolate?” She could only hope that a change of subject would help alleviate some of her mortification, and banders seemed like the best distraction for both of them.

Ashwin righted his plate and brushed the crumbs over the side of the bed, on to the floor. He didn't seem much concerned with the mess because he didn't see it as one, only a few spilled crumbs. "Not a problem, my dear, not a problem. Treasach will just come and lick them up later, I'm sure. No need to look so glum. You've probably just given him a snack." He smirked a little.
"Chocolate is the real problem. And coffee. I think caffeine doesn't agree with them, from what I've been able to tell. I know the Queen had to consult me after his Sultana accidentally ate a teabag and fell ill for a few days." He cleaned up the breakfast a little, putting her plate on top of his and using it to balance the tray more steadily. Then he sipped his juice and looked at her speculatively. "Would you like to help me with a few morning chores? You'll have to be doing most of it yourself once your bander comes in."
((Feel free to end it after your post and go back to the shop 'a week later' after he's sent her a note. <3))

Kelasia was relieved that Ashwin seemed unperturbed by her clumsiness; she hadn’t thought about letting the banders clean up the crumbs. Even though it didn’t really seem like the best idea to her, Ashwin –was- the expert and if it didn’t bother him then it shouldn’t bother her.
She absorbed the knowledge about the banders with a small nod, filing it away in her mind so she would not forget. There was so much information and she was so afraid she was going to forget something! When Ashwin asked if she wanted to help with the chores, Kelasia jumped on the chance, nodding with vigour. Any little bit more she could learn, especially from watching Ashwin, was worth wotever embarrassment she might feel at wot she’d done. She would be a good bander owner for her boy whenever he could come in. Everything would be just right. ”Yes,” she said aloud, rising and taking the tray. ”I would love to.”
