He was used to making house calls in the oddest of places in Corvistowne, the many labs, secret or otherwise tended to have the occasional accidents and he was one of those that didn't especially care what you were doing that may have cause the loss of... well, pretty much whatever. his specialty was of course blood and skin, but he was not limited to just that. On this particular occasion he was on the way back from one of the more desolate labs of an old colleague, whose assistant accidentally got rather... well, it was easier to count the pieces left undamaged than otherwise. that was awhile ago though, and now he was simply heading back to his own abode when a rather hasty deer barged by, knocking him to the side in its hurry... Then there was a sound, one that he was really loath to hear. It sounded like a small crack, followed by a sickening gurgling noise. He didn't even have to look to know what it was, the tube on his arm had gotten jammed against the wall and the lower section had uncoupled slightly... It was an easy fix, but the feeling of his life fluids flowing so freely always sent a chill down his spine, and the bile to well up in his stomach. He hastily covered the gurgling arm and ducked into a convenient doorway, fishing around in the small medical bag he had brought he removed his scalpel and a couple of other tool, crouching to avoid any possible passersby, although there were none in sight, he fully dislodged the jarred side of the tube and quickly went to work in sealing it back up... Hopefully the owner of this house would not mind the blood splatter on the wall where he had collided, or the trail to the doorway... He'd have to write a letter of apology later.

"Having a bit of a problem, are we?"The soft pattering of hooves upon the cobblestones would be an oddly off setting contrast to the serpentine hiss of the voice which had arisen not far from the black and red weasel huddled within one of the many apparently abandoned buildings in Corvistowne. Whether or not this one was truly unoccupied Ophelia would truly not know; she tended to leave socializing for when people came to her instead of the other way around. This time, however, a mixture of morbid curiosity and concern drew her in. Curiosity mostly, but at least there was a pinch of concern. Even from a distance Ophelia could spot a fellow scientist in the stranger huddling within the door of the building as he worked, a trail of blood leading up to the hunched weasel. From the looks of it, he'd popped a tube. Highly unpleasant, she figured, but he handled it as well as one who had undoubtedly placed said tubes there himself. Most likely, he was a fellow scientist like herself and so, on that note, Ophelia felt compelled to offer her assistance. Or perhaps she just wanted to get a closer look at his word, it was hard to tell. "If you need any extra assistance, my lab is only a house or two down."(Whoo, I'm majorly tired. Hope this is mostly coherent XD)

His body tensed up somewhat and he nearly dropped the tool he was using at the emergence of the serpentine voice, he hadn't heard a voice like that in awhile and it was rather unnerving... Or maybe it was the fact that it had come so abruptly while he was huddled in a doorway fixing a blood tube.
There was a deliberate pause as he made sure the tube wouldn't come out again when he looked up, then he gave her a easy smile, it was surprisingly genuine feeling considering he looked a bit... odd. "It happens from time to time... Nothing too worrying." He said then looked back down at his bloody arm... It seemed worse than it was, really. He didn't really have the stuff to repair it with him though, not very well anyways.
He could just go to his own home and fix it... but it was always neat to see what the others had in their labs or such, you could tell a lot about someone by their place. Usually he tried to learn more about the person in question first though... Looking back down at his arm he decided it'd probably be a good idea to go to the nearest place.
"Ah, yes that would be lovely. I hope it isn't too much of an inconvenience..."

Ophelia grinned a little as she studied the delightfully gruesome looking weasel. What on earth had he done to his face?! And those were indeed tubes of blood! A medical scientist, from the looks of him, and a rather morbid one at that. Ophelia loved it. Not because Ophelia herself was very morbid, but because one had to admire another scientist willing to do such experiments on themselves.
"Of course, it's no problem. I'm always happy for company, especially from a fellow Scientist." She tilted her head over her shoulder, for she'd pulled back and had begun to move lightly toward her home. "I'm Ophelia, by the way, and you are?"
For one born or living in Corvistowne it was hard to escape knowledge of the 'town star'. Ophelia was a renowned chemist and she was proud of it. Neither rank nor status within a Court meant anything to Ophelia so long as she had a vast supply of chemicals to occupy herself with and the adoration of her hometown. The Face Cards were too gaudy for her, too stuck up. Corvistowne suited her just fine.
As expected, however, her nihilistic nature didn't extend just to her view of the Courts. Her lifestyle reflected it to.
For a grand chemist, just walking into her home you'd never be able to tell her apart from a run of the mill citizen. Hell, one could even call her a downright peasant. Her home was on the literal outskirts of the city, surrounded by a good number of dilapidated and abandoned buildings and in equally poor repair. The inside was just as pleasant. Scarcely furnished, it looked more like a hut than a home... That is, until she lead him down into the basement.
It was there that Ophelia's heart resided. The lab was grand, glistening and absolutely pristine. It also explained why the upstairs was so drab: she was simply never up there. Why furnish what she never used?
"Welcome to my lab, sorry about the mess on the way down. I tend to be a bit, ahh...distracted while at home."

He couldn't help but grin widely as she began to lead him off, hesitating only a moment or two as he decided how exactly to hold his medical kit and clutch his arm to make sure the tube didn't come loose again as he walked, but soon he was right beside her. His eyes lit up a bit when he caught the full extent of her mismatched scales and fur, he could tell it was not grafted on like the skin that adorned his own face... there were no stitches nor seams to it, it must have been something more deeply hewn.
"Ah, a pleasure to meet you Ophelia, my name is Machaon." he said with a polite bob of his head, snapping out of his thoughtfulness as to her odd appearance. it was... well... Oddly comforting to him that he was not the only one willing to go to such extents in the name of medical, or scientific advancements. He had begun to grow worried he was actually insane or something equally unbecoming.
As they strode onwards he glanced around the house with vague interest, it was practical and rather unfurnished. It was much like his own, except much neater and less cluttered, he had a habit of allowing things to get strewn about his living quarters and never found the time to clean up. His true interest peaked as they entered the lab though, and he looked around quickly surveying the tools and instruments which were out in the open.
"It is perfectly understandable... My house is in complete disarray for the most part." He glanced down at his arm and sighed before looking around again. "It's a very impressive workspace," He commented as he glanced around again. "Perhaps you could show me where a few things are... If you have them that is." He hadn't seen the exact tools he normally used to fix the tubes that made loops in his flesh but that did not necessarily mean she did not own them.
He set his bag down as he listed the tools, and possible substitute implements that he'd like. A small sigh escaped his lips as he produced a cloth from his bag and began to clean the blood from his arm... which was still slowly leaking.

"It's a pleasure, Machaon."
While there were a few stitches to be head, such as with her tail, she was otherwise 'the real deal'. Her works with genetics had a few rather uncomfortable beginnings, but she was quite adjusted now that all the scales had grown in fully and her tongue had stopped aching. Who would've guessed changing your genetics would be such a pain?
She'd continue to perfect her techniques though, everything was already beginning to come together. She was but a few mere steps from obtaining the only status lifting changes she'd ever desired: a bipedal form. It wasn't for the status though, no that wasn't like Ophelia. It was for this beloved lab, a lab she'd mostly adapted to being hoof-accessible.
"Science is quite...consuming, isn't it?" The doe laughed a little, grinning at the weasel before her. "What is it you'll need? I've likely got it."

He thought about the various objects that he would need, and decided that the first would be a tourniquet. He had brought one with him, but it was used on his earlier patient and he discarded it in case it had become contaminated with something. What else might he need... "I am unsure if consuming is the right word... Hmm... I would label it more as all encompassing, it may consume ones time and attention but returns the expenditure in knowledge." He said with an easy smile to the doe.
"Ah, I suppose the first thing that would aid me is a tourniquet, I seem to be losing a bit of blood at the moment." he said with a somewhat embarrassed tone then studied his arm again. It took him a moment to recall what else he would need to repair the somewhat dislodged tube. and then he listed the items he would require to her... They weren't especially specialized tools, but they were definitely more medical orientated than chemistry.
As he waited for her to retrieve the items he gave a small sigh and rubbed the large messy looking stitches along the smooth skinned part of his face, he wasn't terribly proud of the appearance... But the fact it had worked did make him somewhat confident in his abilities, after all... how many things could have transplanted such a vastly different material between living creatures? he only knew one could for sure.

(I'm sorry for taking so long to reply to this, my muse for pre-pregnancy Ophelia has been a bit lacking especially with things being as hectic as they've been lately.) "How true, Machaon, how true!"Ophelia returned that easy smile with one of her own, enjoying his perspective greatly. The company of those from her hometown was always refreshing, so very refreshing. It was rare to find such like mind's elsewhere and, Ophelia had to admit, it was also hard to find them within town at that! "Hmm... I believe I have those, not quite my usual instruments but..." Ophelia shifted gracefully from animal to bipedal, lifting up to search through the lab. Luckily it wouldn't take the 9 long at all to first find the tourniquet and then the rest of the items he'd requested shortly after; she knew her lab like the back of her hand. "There we go, I hope that's enough Machaon...if you need anything else, of course; my lab is open to you." Ophelia's words were accented by a sweep of her hand around her lab, encompassing the entire span of the tidy room to display that her tools and inventions were his to use while he was her guest.
