Her dryly amused comment hinting at their resemblance made Peder chuckle and sit as his brother extricated himself from the fountain. His large, floofy tail came forward to rest against his front paws, the tip twitching at Syraelia's close proximity. "Alike we may be, but can you see the difference in breed, pretty miss? It's not terribly obvious, but if you look close enough then you should be able to spot a few things." Whereas his brother was almost a younger replica of their father, he had inherited more of his mother's fluff and a bit of her structure.
He smiled at Pathos's quickly muttered words but refrained from commenting, knowing the words were barely meant and not wanting to egg him on any further. If his sense of humor and drama was left unchecked, sometimes he got a bit louder than was necessary. He settled for offering an answering wink before turning his attention away from his brother's shake-'n-spray to shed what seemed like most of the water in the poor fountain.
"Actually, she happened along just as I was dragging one of the stones from the cart to the wall. You remember the wall, don't you? The one that we're supposed to be fixing?" All of this teasing was in good jest, and it would be hard for anyone to misinterpret Peder's tone as anything even remotely hostile.

It was all she could do not to burst out in laughter, though she did put a paw to her chest with a modestly shy glance towards Pathos for his many compliments. Playing up her feminine sway, she made sure that as she walked closer a view of her nicer... assets was given. Comical as the situation was, she could never ignore a bit of fun flirtatiousness.
"Awkward? Think nothing of it. If it were just a little warner I might have joined you." She chuckled, feeling the warmth of the sun soak straight through her fur and into her skin. Having such a dark coat sure made day travel a little overwhelming sometimes. "Syraelia, pleased to meet you Pathos." She took the hand delicately for one with such an impressively large stature, paying no mind to the cool water which slid off his digits and onto hers.
Allowing Peder to explain the situation, she took a seat near the large male, just in time to hear his comment about their brotherly likeness. "Yes, I certainly can. You are much thicker, though how much is fur I cannot tell, you seem to have significantly longer hair though. Especially along the tail." Again the strange urge to feel the texture of said tail had come up, and she politely tucked her paws underneath herself. She envied such a tail, as hers left a more... bunny impression than feline.
"I would wait until you are both finished if you would like to do something afterwards? Peder has graciously offered to show me around." The subtle purr had returned, evidence of her enjoyment. It was hard to not enjoy oneself with two particularily handsome males showing such favourable attentions, but seeing as Syraelia was especially social (strange for her realm), it was even more to her pleasing.

Pathos shook his head ruefully at his brother and then smiled at the lady, there was no humility, he was already over whatever embarrassment his brother had imparted upon him.
"Well maybe next time you'll both take a paddle with me, a'right?" He grinned, unable to suppress his bountiful delight in the day any longer. "Well, let's not just have you wandering around the city with this old bag of fleas, eh? I'll go with you too, then you won't be embarrassed to be seen around, right pretty lass?"
He winked at his brother, ducking slightly, expecting the swing his brother would probably aim at his head. He then laughed and motioned for them to follow. His wet fur glistening in the light, fluffies dragging on the ground...he would need an actual bath soon.
"I'll take you guys down to the corner store, how's that, Peder? We'll get her some of them toasted almonds? The one with the cinnamon crunchies!" With that he leapt forward, laughing, expecting that they would follow, happy in himself, his company, and his life. Nothing could be better, not even if he was a Heart.

((*twitch* I apologize most profusely. His muse was just... so... asleep. Even now it's only up for a snack, I think.))
The 'bag of fleas' comment did indeed earn Pathos a playful swing of one paw, claws nowhere in sight. It didn't connect, more to the better, and he had trouble keeping his smile to a minimum. "I suppose work can wait for a little while longer. 's not like anyone's going to touch those stones when they know on sight who paid for them. The corner store would be a good choice."
He stood and let his tail curl around and behind him, probably brushing against Syraelia more than once in its 'journeys'. "Ever tried Burgy's almonds, miss? They're a hit among park-goers, whether you work around here or just visit. Nobody can match the spices he uses, or the particularly satisfying crunch."
Their little side-trip wouldn't take too long, and if it did, he could always excuse himself to see about placing the stones somewhere secure. If his brother did decide an impromptu moratorium on their work was in order later on, they would just work double-shift tomorrow. They'd gotten a full night's sleep that night and could afford the extra hours with their reserves.

((I'm sorry, but further reflection has revealed unto me that my Peder muse is /gone/. Mao. I think we should probably mark this ended.))
