"Very well then. I honestly don't think we'll have to stop at the library! I have quite a bit of books memorized. Sometimes I have nothing better to do when I'm in a down period." He said as he continued to happily skip along. Being down never really changed Rocky's mood. He enjoyed being positive. He enjoyed being joyful, being down always made things worse.
"Gliding? Oh yes. I tried that. I managed to do it with a small set of artificial wings. But when actually applied I didn't get very far with any of my test subjects. I obviously got no where." He said the last bit with a wiggle of his wings. He was well aware that his wings were entirely too small. He could fix that problem later with the help of a medical Corvistowne. One that wouldn't charge him an arm, a leg, and his first born child. Good luck with that one. "I'm afraid that putting mechanical things together is so difficult, but creating chemicals that have effects is more my style."

Kelasia nodded as she listened to the raccoon talk and her mind was still going. ”Wouldn’t mechanical wings be too heavy?” she asked quietly. ”Unless you had some sort of... propulsion mechanism to help overcome the excess weight….” But, again, these were all just wild guesses on her part; without doing some research to find out where the field stood right then, it was doubtful she’d be able to come up with anything really useful.
Lift, lift…. She really did want to see wot the experts of the field had said thus far. She didn’t know how chemicals could help unless they figured out exactly wot it was that Rocco needed in order to gain flight and then found the chemicals that would allow them to emphasize that trait. She didn’t think there were any experts simply on the field of flight, but surely there was someone who had made studies of it? ”Wot do you know about lift so far?” she asked quietly.

"I've tried that. It was a disaster. I would use hormones to stimulate growth of wings or feathers or something of the like. However, every time I test something on myself I either break out in hives or... well once I was able to get a set of wings on as you can see. I just can't get them to do much of anything besides wiggle." He shrugged. "I figure I need to try on a smaller scale before I do anything else to myself."
You know you came from Corvistowne when you were willing to experiment on yourself and tell someone about it. Yes. That was the way things worked in Rocky's head. No point in being tight lipped. He grinned at her. "Well you see, I know that the speed of the wings, the motion of the body and the weight of the body all effect the ability to take off. I just don't know the proper formula for all of it to work with a raccoon's body. Ah. Haha." He blushed a bit. "Anyway, what were you researching?"
They were close to the firm now. He could see it in the distance.

Kelasia could see the need to experiment on a smaller level before moving on to the bigger one, but at the same time it didn’t seem entirely… ethical. She tilted her head uneasily and glanced over to the black raccoon trotting along beside her. He was so cheery about his experiments, even the failures! That, at least, was an inspiration to her. Rocky seemed like a lovely man. Surely he was too nice to experiment on someone or something without permission. Having laid that fear to waste, Kelasia gladly turned her mind to his next words about lift.
”It seems unlikely that a lot of research has been done on the subject,” she admitted with a small smile for him. ”I don’t know anyone other than birds and you interested so keenly in flight.” She hoped he wouldn’t be insulted by that. ”Perhaps there’s someone we can try talking to for you?”
(sorry, rushed, heading out. <3)

"Birds, butterflies, bats and the like." He shrugged. "I doubt many have considered the fact that others may enjoy the grace involved with flight. Talking to someone who can stand me would be lovely." He smiled at her with a bounce in his step. Rocky could hardly be offended by the truth. Honestly, who would think a raccoon would be interested in flight.
Rocco honestly didn't know what made him so fascinated by the concept of flight. He honestly didn't care. He just knew he liked it and was okay with that. "Lovely lady, I believe we may have reached your destination?" He pointed to the West Lakes Shipping firm. It was like a beacon in the distance. He was actually planning to go to the lovely cafe today. That was one of the other reasons why he was taking a walk. How could he not think about flight while enjoying a cup of coffee?
He really shouldn't drink coffee though. It did some horrible things to him.

Kelasia nodded slightly at Rocco’s list and tried to think of any others in her acquaintance who might be of assistance, but she only really knew some birds. And Rocky’s wings were more avian in nature than anything else, so it seemed that birds were still his best bet.
The man’s comment about people being able to stand him was a little bit baffling to the woman; he seemed fine to her. Why would someone –not- want to talk to him? He was very nice and quite cheerful!
She blinked and glanced to the buildings in surprise; they –were- nearly there! That was the fastest the walk had ever been for her; or, perhaps, it would be more accurate to say that it went fast because she hadn’t been thinking about it. ”Ah, so we are,” she said softly. ”Would you like to come in for awhile?” she asked politely. ”Perhaps we can brainstorm some ideas while I work?” She needed to double check numbers and she could do that without thinking very hard.

She seemed baffled when he mentioned that people couldn't stand him. It was the truth though. Rocky was sometimes overwhelming. At least that was what people told him. Being happy all the time was unnatural, but it was just the way he was. Well, no, he wasn't happy all the time, but if he put a positive spin on things it was no big deal that he was sad sometimes.
Fake it 'til you make it was what his mother always said.
"It would be a pleasure to accompany you, but... I wouldn't be interrupting would I?" One thing Rocky was serious about was getting in the way. He hated getting in the way. It was just a horrible thing to do! He couldn't allow himself to get into Kelasia's way. He would never forgive himself if he hindered someone so kind. "I can simply wander off, I don't want to get in your way after being so kind go me. Not many people are willing to humor me," He grinned. The truth really hurt sometimes.

”I don’t believe you will be,” the muted-coloured skunk answered honestly. ”My tasks for this afternoon aren’t difficult and it would be nice to have someone to talk to whilst I work on them. Rogers stays up front to help customers.” How odd! The shy Sorgaire Range woman very rarely –wanted- to talk to anyone except Theofilus and sometimes Rogers. To want to be in the company of another person felt weird even as it was rather nice. More than anything, though, she wanted to be able to help him with his flight issues and until she could go to the library, he was her best source of information.
She went to the door and pulled it open, bobbing her head slightly and gesturing for him to proceed her indoors. Rogers would almost definitely have spotted them by now— he was very good at guarding the office as well as running it— so he wouldn’t be surprised by the return of the raccoon. At least, she was pretty sure he wouldn’t.

There was a bounce in Rocky's step as he found himself at the front door. "Then I can't refuse a ladies invitation! It would be quite rude!" He grinned as he opened the door for her with a bow and a wing twitch.
Once inside Rocky continued to bounce about happily. She was quite a graceful and kind lady! Her heart must have been bigger than the sky. Not many people could stand Rocky for long periods of time. He had found that is constant energy caused people to... well resent him. He shrugged it off mentally. No time for that!
"You must put a lot of work into the firm!" He looked at Rogers who gave him a wave and shrugged it off. Apparently he knew Rocky wasn't shipping a package today. The raccoon waited for the woman to lead him wherever he needed to go. He really had no sense of where she needed to be. She worked in back didn't she? She probably checked numbers! Oh! He could only wonder how much she needed to do. Smart people made him excited.

The skunk paused by the desk, pulling out two of the books and one folder of papers to pass over to Rogers. ”This was all they had,” she told him softly in wot was evidently part of her errand from that afternoon. ”But Thomin said to just come back by if we can think of anything else to add to the account.” With that accomplished she waved at her coworker and moved to her little back room.
”Feel free to take a seat,” she said before answering his exclamation. ”Not too much. Now, if you'll excuse me, I’ll just be a minute so I can get the needed files.” She gave him a small smile and slipped back out front.
”Do we have any tea ready?” she asked Rogers. At his affirmative smile and nod, she fetched a tray of tea and snacks for her guest, carefully stacking the books she needed to work on beneath it. She had to be cautious as she carried into the back room, putting it down near the man. ”May I serve you?”
