"No, no." Vessatha sighed, then continued. "I'm going to have to get used to people walking around like that, so you might as well not. I just don't see many bipedals, so it seems strange. No offense." There were bipedals in the Forest, that was true, but they didn't stay bipedals when actually there. Considering she hadn't actually lived in any kind of community for quite some time, she hadn't seen many other people--let alone the ones that were brazen enough to walk around in their second form.
Food? Vessatha's ears perked forward before she could catch herself.. and her stomach rumbled, much to her embarrassment. "Well.." Vessie didn't really want to be in his favor for food, along with him showing her around.. but if he was offering, scruples could just go screw themselves. "I don't eat much meat, but otherwise, I'm game for anything."
The ferret got to all fours, gradually stretching out her back tendons before moving to stand in front of him. "Thank you. I really do appreciate this."

He stopped when she moved in front of him. All right, she was a bit nicer now that she had some bearings back. Zane grinned, and apparently she hadn't dealt with that many Cards in their midforms. Well, she would see quite a few in this area, he was sure.
"You're welcome. It's a good thing that I don't eat that much meat either. I know a nice cafe around here. We can stop there if you like. Since they know me well enough, and you're new in town we might get a free meal out of it." Zane said as he took a bit of a side step and continued forward. No point in wasting time chatting in the middle of the street. He pointed to a small building in the distance. "We can either get a bite to go, or we can sit and talk."

Belatedly Vessatha realised he was walking--or would be, if she stopped getting in his way. She altered her direction so she was padding along next to him, though she purposefully stayed a bit behind, just in case he stopped. Running into someone didn't sound like fun.. or a good idea.
"Sounds good to me." Vessie almost asked what a cafe was.. but decided it was probably something he assumed she'd heard of. Was it like a tavern? She was about to find out, since he was pointing just down the street. "Whatever works for you. It's your time we're spending, really."
As they strolled along she watched the buildings as they gradually passed by, wondering how they got all the stones up there. Obviously someone could fly, and that's how they were able to, but could someone really lift them? The ferret transfered her attention to the people around her, accidentally zoning Zane out. Where did all these people live? Surely it wasn't in the buildings around them! That would be so noisy, and so crowded.. wouldn't it? Vessatha sighed, and shook her head to herself. It made no sense.

Apparently she had nothing better to do than wander? Zane couldn't fathom what she meant by the last comment. If he had known what she was thinking he wouldn't have been able to do anything but stare.
He did it anyway when she continued to walk past him after he stopped next to the cafe. "Miss Vessatha? Over here?" he said waving a hand at her. He didn't wait for her to take a seat at one of the tables and wait for a server to pop up. This cafe was one of the cheaper ones, but it didn't matter. They had fantastic service and friendly waitresses. And today there were no too friendly waiters to bother him.
He eyed the ferret for a moment. "I take it you come from a small town, right?" There was no other reason why she would be so... horribly lost in Capital City. Nothing that Zane could come up with anyway.
(( OOC: >_> I apologize for the poor quality of this. I am not on the ball today. ))

{{It's okay, neither am I. Your posts are making me giggle, though. <3 }}
Over here what? Vessatha abruptly stopped, and dazedly glanced around her. She was a good ten yards from where Zane had stopped, which made her eyes go wide before a sheepish expression crossed her face. "Sorry, sorry! I was.. daydreaming." More like getting homesick, but in the end they could mean the same thing.. right?
She walked over to a table, and.. stared at a chair. What was she supposed to do with that? Chairs were for bipedals and humans, weren't they? Vessa glanced around and noted that some animals had managed to get up on them, but for the life of her she had no idea how she was supposed to without looking like an idiot. The ferret was used to tables being much lower so chairs weren't necessary--you sat on the ground, or if it was fancy, they put pillows down for you. So when Zane asked her if she was from a small town, all she could do was stare at him, a blush forming. This wasn't highly embarrassing or anything, of course not! "Uh. Yeah."
Vessie realised she was going to have to ask him how the heck to get up on the chair, but she felt like a fool already.. this wasn't going well. So she fidgited and looked at her paws.

Zane stared blankly for a moment. Did she really need help getting into the chair? Zane actually hadn't experienced any trouble at all, since, well, he could always flutter into one if he desperately needed to. He stood up with a half sigh and walked around to the other side of the table.
The sparrow pulled out the chair and pointed to the bottom set of rungs. They were, basically, a set of little stairs that folded out. He grinned at her. That was generally why he had picked this table. "Just use these. It's not that difficult. I should have offered to pull out the chair in the first place."
Zane waited until she was properly settled before returning to his chair. If she didn't know how to get into a chair, what else didn't she know? What part of the Forest did she come from? Nowhere land?

Vessie's blush only grew brighter (hard to do for an essentially red ferret) as he stared.. and then walked over and pointed out the set of rungs. Rungs? Where had those come from? Clearly she was blind, because they hadn't suddenly appeared, unless he had some magic poofing power she didn't know about.
.. Now she was just getting silly, and making herself feel even more stupid. Without a word she prodded at the stairs until she figured out how to climb them, then slowly settled herself onto the chair. She hadn't just made a fool out of herself, nope she didn't! "Uh. Thanks.." She muttered under her breath, still not looking at him. Eye contact was for people with ego, and hers was hiding in a corner.
What else was around here that she wasn't going to understand? Besides getting lost, not knowing what a cafe was (clearly just a small restaurant, now that she had looked around) and how to use a chair, of course. Vessie had a sad feeling that her list of how pathetic she was would grow longer within, oh, the next ten minutes? along with over the course of the day.

"I think this awkward silence would be a good time to play a little game of Question and Answer. You obviously come from a small town, so I'm betting you have a lot of questions about things. Since I've lived here the majority of my life, I think I might be able to answer some questions." He grinned.
The waitress scurried over with a hop and a skip. She smiled and asked the usual questions, giving her name and such. Zane gave her his usual order and and waited for Vessatha to give her order before continuing their discussion. Then again, he didn't have all that much to say. He held back a sigh. No point in being rude.
"So, you can ask anything you want. I'll give you the best possible answer, and I promise I won't laugh or anything. I can't think less of you if you're just being honest." He added that for good measure.

{{Sorry if it ends up taking me a while to respond, I've been busy with school and life >< I'll try to keep replies coming steadily though <3}}
Awkward silence was a bit of an understatement, at least to Vessatha. It was more like a devastating crevice, with her tottering at the edge and just waiting to fall off. (Zane was somewhere off in the safety of the plain, giggling a bit.) Alas, her imagination was a bit overblown sometimes.. Vessie cringed, but nodded. "Yeah. Small town.." She muttered to herself, wondering exactly how their ideas of "small" differed.
As the waitress came over, Vessatha briefly glanced at the menu in front of her and chose something at random--it had a lot of vegetables listed, so she'd probably be able to eat it without really tasting it. At least the ferret knew what a waitress was--even if most of them doubled as barmaids as well. No need to look stupid in front of more than one person at a time, after all.
He couldn't think less of her? Well, at least that clarified things, Vessie thought dryly. Then again, it was probably hard to have an opinion of someone who just randomly showed up in a large town and didn't know what a chair was.. "Okay. Uhm. For starters.. have you ever been to Kahmden?" She paused, then added, "Just to see if you know where I'm coming from with any weird questions."
