Well that was nice of him. Not really but Kazifel felt a small comfort in the fact that he couldn't talk. Bastard. Pissing him off seemed like a good goal for the future if Kazifel ever felt like he needed to annoy someone. He doubted it, but the thought of making the man miserable made him just a bit happier than it should have.
Kazifel sighed at the comment. "I could use my power so he couldn't feel it for a while... but I doubt that's a good idea. I have half a mind to do it though." Just to make Lord Ghi a tad bit more angry and the human at list a bit less uncomfortable. There was no way feeling the breeze in that little clothing was comfortable.
Feeling. Right! "Femi. Um... I think... I think I can feel things a little bit again. I'm not sure though."

Femi paused walking to look back at the human man, her expression dubious. "I don't know, dearest. I think feeling might be one of the only things he has left, even after all this unpleasantness. He can't speak. He can barely hear after an accident a few years back. I think his vision's a little blurry. And... well. I guess he can smell things. Not much consolation there." She grimaced, but his next words had her whirling around to stare at him, pink eyes wide as saucers.
"You... you think you can feel?" she asked in breathless excitement, mood changing like the flick of a light switch. She certainly did seem to live in the moment, as it were. "Can you really? Oh, my love, that would be so amazing! Can you feel this?!"
She threw herself against him in a bear hug, not knocking either of them down but only just. She didn't want to damage his wings, after all, not with them looking as beautiful as they did finished up with silk and satin and jewels. "Can you fell me?" she asked in a tiny, hopeful whisper, head pressed against his neck and shoulder.

"Wait what acci--" He didn't have time to finish his sentence. The hug surprised him enough for the thought to completely evaporate. He wasn't sure how to respond. He did feel it didn't he? He felt her squeezing him, and pressing up against him.
This was real? He wasn't imagining it?
It didn't matter. He could feel it regardless. He could feel Femi and her hug. He smiled at her, even if she couldn't quite see it. He whispered back, "Yes. Yes I can."
All thoughts of what had just occurred escaped him. The only thing he could think of was how happy he was. This was actually happening to him, and it wasn't some horrible dream. He wasn't locked in a basement. He was hugging Femi. And he promised to stay with her forever. At least, now, he could feel her forever as well. "Thank you," he muttered. He could never say it enough.

Whimpering a little in her excitement, Femi pulled back only far enough to stare up at his face and beam, tears peeking around her happily squinted eyes. "You are the most wonderful person ever. Anywhere. You make me so happy, and now you can feel me. And you still want to be with me. I- Eeeee, Kazifel, you're wonderful!"
A few people had paused in their daily activities, walking and whatnot, to stare at the loud squeal of excitement. The Wood was a fairly quiet place, barring the occasional sounds of predation that went along with with the forest, and that had been a very high-pitched noise with lots of volume for added effect. The squirrel didn't seem to notice any of them, too wrapped up in her own personal drama.
"Kazifel, my wonderful, wonderful man, you are coming home with me right now. And we will find out just how much you can feel." She lifted one paw to gently cradle his face, finger brushing against cold, painted wood. "And then you will have to excuse my happiness, because I just can't hold it back right now, because Vren was right and we can help you to get better!"

Kazifel's eyes widened at the sudden squeal, even he didn't expect that. He was still taken aback when she placed her hand on his cheek. He could feel how warm she was, and he could care less how that was possible. He let out a happy whining sound that a puppy would have made. Kazifel didn't particularly care about the people who were starting to stare, even if it was slightly embarrassing to a focal point.
He grinned, "I'm more than happy to agree to that experiment."
He hadn't used that word in a while. He had forgotten how nice it sounded. Still. He didn't miss Cassiel. It was strange. Letting her go so easily, but Femi was something he could honestly hold on to. That and she wouldn't do horrible things to him like Cassiel did. It was nice being appreciated for who you really were.

Femi smiled up at him, the hand on his cheek slowly pulling away to grasp one of his own hands and tug. That had been the single cutest noise she'd ever heard out of anyone. "Home then, I think. I... I can't wait. I'm so happy. I wonder if you can feel everywhere? Since you felt me touching your hand. Did you feel me hugging you, or touching your face, or anything else? Can you feel the breeze and the chill?"
She continued to ask him questions as they hurried back through the town, the walk only ten minutes when done quickly but seeming like much longer to her curious, excited mind. He could feel again. He could feel! That was the most Real thing there was, above hearing or seeing or anything else. Touch, feeling, all of that. It was the most special sense. The one she'd been almost deprived of her whole life, partly by choice and partly by chance.
Home never looked so good. She almost fumbled the key in her giddy excitement to fit it in the lock, then flung open the door and dragged him eagerly inside. "My big puppy dog," she giggled happily.

He managed to answer yes and no to some of her questions as he was practically dragged back to the house. As for feeling the cold? He felt it, but had been ignoring it for quite some time. As much as he enjoyed feeling, "cold" had always bothered him. Cold had always meant loss. His mother had died on a winter night, and so had his youngest sister.
But really it wasn't time for that. He almost squeed when she used the term "puppy dog." That was a whole new shade of adorable. "Well, I don't know. I feel that you're warm compared to the breeze. You're soft. I imagine if I can feel you touching me than I can feel most of my body." He did want to put the theory to test.
He had to wonder what it would take to get everything else back. But this was the most important step for him. He grinned happily.

Femi stood on her tip-toes and twirled a little, so happy she almost felt like dancing. If she knew how. As it was, she simply twirled, then grabbed onto Kazi's hands and bounced a little bit. Her excitement always led to exuberant physical displays. Her father thought they were cute. Her mother thought they were embarrassing. She just thought they were fun.
"I'm warm and soft and fuzzy," she agreed happily, his grin making her want to laugh. When he was happy, he made her feel happy and everything got brighter. "And your skin is hard, and your clothes are soft but abrasive, and your hair is sooo silky-fine and long and fun to play with. Someday, if I ever get my human form, I want hair like yours, white to match my fur. It's just the prettiest thing." She put words to action, reaching out her hand to thread through the hair at his scalp as she'd done a little while ago, before he could feel it.
She leaned closer and placed a kiss on his pretty painted lips. "My Kazifel, what else can you feel?" The words were said in compete happy innocence.

He blinked in surprise at the kiss and her playing with his hair. How could he react to that? He felt like he was blushing, even though he knew he wasn't. Guh... uh... what was he supposed to do? "Well I felt that," he said not looking at her directly.
Why exactly was it so embarrassing? He wasn't sure. Was he...? Well he was but that wasn't here or there. It wasn't like he could do anything. How very awkward. His thoughts hadn't wandered there in a VERY long time. He was surprised to even have such thoughts about Femi. Then again it had been twenty some years of isolation that he was finally recovering from. Maybe it was just a little expected.
"It's hard to believe any of this is happening. I am just can't even comprehend any of this I'm so happy." He smiled at Femi. That's really all he could do at the present.
