He'd woken up early that morning, quite excited for the meeting he'd arranged with The Queen ... but he'd also discovered that mornings were boring. He made a few passes through the halls to try and find something interesting but had, ultimately, failed and wandered off to the kitchen to get a quick bite when an idea hit him .... coffee! It was rather well known that the mouse did so enjoy the drink and, even though some would probably make it's way to the gardens anyhow, what if he ensured that it was there before hand? Sounded like a great idea to him so he went ahead and put the request in ... and added in his best puppy dog look for good measure. And then it was off to find something to occupy his time with that wouldn't distract him and make him late ... or dirty. He settled on reading and picked a book at random, but he managed to pick one with pictures and passed the time looking at them, and the clock he'd placed himself near. At twenty minutes til he returned the book and made his way to the gardens, flame colored tail curled over his back and swaying slowly with every step. His naturally prance like walk had a little more spring in it then usual as he rounded the final corner, ears perked forward inquisitively as orange eyes scanned the area to see if he'd managed to beat Aderlass here, he was early after all ...

While the mouse was more than pleased to help the lad out in his training, the mouse was also stubborn and selfish enough to not give up his refusal to wake up too early in the morning. While once in a red moon was nice to wake up early enough to see the sun rise, the ground warm up after a cooling night, or to hear the birds sing their morning songs, it was not something the mouse could handle every day of his life. Having set his alarm to be woken up two hours earlier than his normal waking time, he had quickly eaten a light meal. While eating his cheesy eggs he had gone over the papers he had created outlining the plan of action he had. He doubted that it would do either of them any good to just completely step out blindly into this. Morning chores, food, and planning all done he had set out for their meeting point in the garden. The mouse would show up neither too late nor too early. One could almost say it was right on time.

Aha! He had arrived before The Queen, and it pleased him greatly ... especially since he had a couple things to ... subtly show off to him. He took a moment to scan the garden, ears perked forward with interest ... he enjoyed various types of foliage, just not as much as his mother and brother did ... his like of them was normal, not obsessive. He soon grew bored of this and began to move toward the specific spot he'd be meeting with Aderlass. Speaking of the mouse ... perhaps those footsteps were his?
He peered back over his shoulder, ears forward and tail momentarily still as he eyed who was coming up behind him ... and didn't initially recognize the man. He couldn't recall ever seeing him in any other form but human, but the hat, horns and cane were all dead give away as to who it was and a broad, toothy grin spread over his muzzle as his tail came to life once more. He turned his body to face the same direction as his gaze and 'danced' in place for a moment, his over excitement about the events to come completely obvious ... but he hadn't quite forgotten his manners.
Good morning your majesty!

The mouse broke into a grin himself as he neared where the pup was waiting for him. Seeing the 'dance' of sorts, he gave a small amused chuckle. That fluff ball of fire never seemed to be tired and always sprung full of interest.
Coming to stop in front of the fire ball he smiled down at him. "Good morning, Casanova. I trust that you slept well?" He did not pause long before motioning with his right hand toward one of the tables.
Taking his seat he waited for the younger boy to join him. He was silent for a moment as he considered the task before him. "Are you ready to begin your training?" The question was more in teasing than in checking to make sure the pup was ready. He waited for the mix to reply before continuing, "Let's start with you explaining what you already know."

He nodded his response to the mouse's first question, there really wasn't much beyond that that wouldn't fall into the category of 'babbling' ... and he was going to try and keep a hold of his tongue this morning. He followed the hand gesture with his eyes before putting his body into motion, each leg lifted high as he pranced over to the chair, wiggled a bit and hopped up; quite glad that he hadn't taken a running leap at it, slid off and knocked it over like he'd done with a few chairs in the past. It was taking him quite the long time... but he was starting ot learn how to keep all of his extra energy in check ... even if it meant that his tail hardly ever had a still moment.
Said bushy tail was presently beating out a cheerful rhythm against the back of his seat, but his attention was fixed on the Queen, another toothy grin spreading over his muzzle.
Definitely!
He wiggled his toes a bit and flicked one of his red-lined ears, taking a moment to collect himself so that he could give a proper answer in the way a normal person would... instead of being more like an auctioneer delivering a horrible run on sentence.
Well ... I can talk through fire, make burning logs move ....and
He paused to wiggled one of his flaming bone wings, sending little licks of flame off to disappear in the air.
I can make these go away... or change their color.
Technically it wasn't really all that impressive of a list, but he thought he could do a fair amount of rather nifty things ... especially since all of his powers except his natural ones that every Club had had to deal with fire in some way. He'd heard that the mouse could so some.. .rather amazing things with his fire and couldn't think of a better teacher. He ... really did want to do more ....

Before the mouse could make any reply to the canine the coffee that the boy had asked to be delivered arrived. Soaking in the wonderful aroma that accompanied it he smiled. Coffee was a wonderful thing, especially when having a discussion with someone of any sort.
Looking at the lad he raised his eyebrow, a silent question toward him in asking if he had been the cause of the event. Taking the cup off the tray, with a wave of his hand offering some of the drink to the lad as well, he set about making the coffee perfect with sugar and cream.
Once that was one he took a sip. Putting the cup back down he turned his attention back to their discussion. "How well do you have a hand on those skills?" Though the list woefully short them in themselves were wonderful skills to start off with.

His wet, black nose twitched as the aroma of coffee came to him before it was ever presented and it made his tail wag even quicker. His ears perked as he peered back at The Queen, his silent question answered by the big, goofy grin that appeared on his muzzle. He politely declined the offer of a cup though, caffeine made concentrating that much harder for him and, really ... he didn't need any extra help getting distracted. He really didn't want to end up dong something horribly silly like chasing his tail ... although that did always seem to get a good laugh ... No! Focus, he needed to focus ... and not on stupid, silly things either!
His tail slowed and then went still for a moment as he thought about the spoken question, he hadn't really used these abilities all that much, not like the opportunity ever came up often, so that meant no, didn't it? His little red lined ears drooped a bit, but he answered honestly.
Not really no ... the one for my wings kinda hurts actually so... I don't use it often and.... well, they're pretty and I like having them out.
He wiggled his wings a bit, making the flames jump in the air and dance around the bone, just for a demonstration.
Guess I should practice more.... huh?
this was probably the closest he'd ever been to embarrassed ...
