He held his hand out, taking the offered object. Twisting it this way and that he admired the letter opener. It seemed to have a design engraved on it; turning the tool so that it was turned away from his body, he tried to make out the pattern. It did not seem to be a simple design, yet neither did it appear to be a difficult one.
Turning towards the bird with the corset, he handed the letter opener in his direction in case he wanted to look it over as well. “Wot do you think of it?” he asked, curious as to what the bird had to say on the matter.
It seemed interesting enough. It was not something he was sure to have a use for, who would be sending him letters anyway? However, he had to admit that it was an interesting enough piece that it might be worth getting . . . depending on the price. He was in no way going to just offer up any coin for the object if he offered up any at all.

Ez spun the letter opener in his hands. The pattern was an interesting one, enough to make the sparrow wonder where the piece had come from. It was probably expensive, even if it was a simple device for opening letters. With all the other things produced by the cat, he had to wonder if he was holding out.
"It's a fine letter opener. Pretty expensive and hand crafted to perfection. It would be a loss not to buy it." Ez said as he handed it back to the mouse. "I'll send you letters just so you can use it if that's the case."
It was a silly thing to say, but at a time like this he had no need to restrain his silly. It wasn't like he was making some perfect business deal. He was simply trying to be helpful. "Do you have anything else in your bag of tricks, sir?"

Marrok was positively gleeful that the mouse had taken an interest in the item. He savored the thought of separating the mouse from a few coins so much that he almost didn't hear the question from the bird.
"Do you have anything else in your bag of tricks, sir?"
'If only.' Marrok thought glumly. It was thanks to the bird, after all, that he had come this far. Marrok decided to keep up the act however. He had to continue pretending to be a simple, respectable merchant brimming with so many sales opportunities that he need not cheat anyone. If only.
He returned to the barrel and muttered many apologies and some barely understandable and very fictatious statement about his best items having just been sold. When his head came out of the barrel he only had an apologetic smile.
"I don't believe I have anything worthy of your stature. Next time. Next time I'm sure I will," Marrok said. He honestly didn't know if he would have this job next time the sun rose however. He then turned to the mouse to check on his status. He said nothing out loud but said many prayers in his thoughts that the mouse would buy the letter opener.

The mouse eyed the letter opener once again, glancing towards the oddly dressed feline to the bird. The bird had indeed made a lovely offer to send him letters so he had the use of the thing, even if he did not really need it. The feline looked like he could probably use the few coins this thing would catch.
Ah, why not. His next job for Mnem was sure to gain him some coin.
“I will take it. Will ten silver do for it?” He figured ten was probably more then the small feline would be expecting for it, but the creature seemed to be in need of it.
As he waited for the feline to make his decision to take it or leave it he glanced towards the avian next to him. “You will have to excuse me but I do not think I caught your name.”

"That's a pity," Ezekiel muttered. He thought that maybe he could manage to get a mirror or something of the feline. Oh well. It wasn't the biggest deal in the world. He could find one sometime.
The bird snapped back to attention when the mouse spoke to him. "Oh, my name is Ezekiel, just call me Ez." The sparrow gave the mouse a slight bow. A smile on his face. It was nice meeting new and interesting people. A Morganberry mouse with horns and a Torq with absurd clothing. "What happens to be your name, good sir?" The sparrow moved a bit closer. He would have offered his hand, but thought better of it. Sometimes people were sensitive about people being taller than them and such. The sparrow didn't want to break a bond before it was made. Better safe than sorry, so to speak.
It was still tempting to flirt with the mouse though.
The feline not so much. The sparrow turned his attention briefly back to him, "If you ever find a fine mirror of the same quality of that letter opener I hope to cross your path again."

Marrok clenched his jaw shut when the mouse made his offer. It was far more than he expected. He really wanted nothing more than to take the coins and dart down the street before the winds of change or the ill fate he had been having up until now could catch him. Again. He restrained himself.
"10 you say? 10 it is!"
He started mentally spending the coins. Near a dozen delicious sandwiches he would buy. If he sold them for 3 silver pieces each, he would have enough coin to feed his lord and his lord's family for a couple days.
"Marrok," the cat replied quickly to the bird. "And If I should find a mirror, It will be here waiting for you." 'In fact, maybe I will steal one from my lord, tell him it broke and give it to you,' Marrok thought. The idea of such trickery made him grin. 'I steal and sell his things for his own benefit. What a predicament?'

He handed over the silver coins to the feline. “It was a pleasure to do business with you, Mr. Marrok.” he replied giving a slight nod of his head to the male. Placing the newly purchased letter opener in his bag he turned his attention to the bird next to him.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Ez. The name is Aderlass in return.” he replied to the bird’s question in a slightly flirtatious manner, enough that if the bird was looking for it he would notice, though anyone else might just mistake it for being a little too friendly.
Eyeing the bird up and down from lowered eye lashes he gave a smile as the bird took a step closer to him. Catching a whiff of the avian’s he gave an inviting smile. If what he thought was true, then things were defiantly looking forward to a changed in plans.

Ez grinned as he bounced on his feet a little. Well now, this was interesting wasn't it? The mouse flirting then? Well so be it. "Well, if either of you are interested, I'm on my way to a rather nice nightclub. It would be lovely if I had some company. A single bird like me all alone is sometimes a bad idea."
The sparrow grinned. "Either way, Mr. Marrok and Mr. Aderlass, I must take my leave. I don't want to be late to the party." The sparrow gave a wave before he began to walk in the direction he had been going. His pace was slow enough to let the mouse (or feline) to follow. The sparrow looked back at the mouse briefly. Oh what fun that mouse could be. Or at least interesting. He had to have some stories to tell. Why else would a mouse wear gloves if there wasn't some interesting explanation?

Marrok could hardly believe it when the coins were places in his hands. He closed his fist tightly and forced himself to finish the conversation as politely as possible. So Ez and Aderlass were their names?
"Charmed gentlemen. Charmed," Marrok said nodding. A party? Marrok's ears perked up. What fun any deviation from the dreary in and outs of work would be. And a party? Free food, good conversation and possibly even a good brawl he could place bet on. Partying may have been the farthest thing from his mind for the last 12 months to a year but now the more he thought about it, the more he ached to be in one.
But the bird had already started walking. Marrok realized he may not have time to finish his trick if he followed the bird now. He had to buy and sell the food and at a ridiculous price. Unless . . . He simply spent the 10 silver pieces on one meal for his lord. Their would be plenty of time if he did that. Perhaps he could even get some non perishables from the party to sell tomorrow. Hmm.
"Mr. Ez. If you would only allow me to ditch this cart, I would like to take you up on that offer." Marrok called to the bird.
