((No more than two characters total, please. <3 Ghosts don't count in that number, since she wouldn't be reacting to them.)) Well, the Capital was certainly... big. Donnie glanced around at the buildings as she passed. She hadn't been to the city in years and it was quite the refresher, midday during the week, with people absolutely everywhere. It would be the perfect place to gear herself up for actually heading over to the Court of Spades. All the best coach services came out of the city anyway, so it only made sense to go there in style. She'd walked her way from the Villa, not feeling like spending the money and liking the solid earth beneath her paws on the trail. So she got a little dusty. Eh. It made the 'journey' all the more significant in her mind. She was finally on her way and getting some good running and walking in while she could afford to look dusty made her happy. A good inn for a few nights and a hot shower were in order, but those could wait until after she'd gotten lunch. Again, not wanting to spend ridiculous amonts of money when she didn't have to - she'd need to hire a nice coach to take her to the Courts and arrive in proper style - she grabbed a quick meatroll from one of the vendors surrounding a park area and sat down to enjoy it. She didn't need to assume her biped form for something as trivial as lunch, nor did she want to. That would come later.

Saethre swayed through the crowds, absently brushing up against strangers with her tail, seemingly oblivious to the odd looks she was receiving. It didn't help that she was singing lightly to herself - a rather morbid yet cheerful song involving squirrels - and seemed completely incapable of walking in a straight line because of her large belly. So the otter walked as if she was drunk, and happily let everyone around her assume she was. She stopped at the same vender Donnie had and bought nearly twice as much, but stowed half of it away in the pack perched on her back. She sat down near her and began eating in an oddily dainty manner, then abruptly noticed the wolverine. Sae squinted at her, then edged closer, her head tilted at the writing on her fur. "What does your script say?" She asked bluntly, unable to see past the "cha" at the angle they were positioned at. Sae hoped it was something interesting such as "charred" or "changeling" - who didn't want to be a burnt fairy? - but was assuming it was something more 'meaningful', whatever the hell that actually meant. She never claimed to understand Villas and their silly writings, but at least they were pretty to look at.

Donnie blinked and turned to look at the person sitting beside her, an exceptionally pregnant young woman who looked like a mix between Kahmden and... Torquehelm? Corvistowne? One of the darker realms. An otter no less, so the swaying belly looked doubly amusing as it bulged her sides. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she hoped that it hadn't been a man to plant the seed. Unfortunately, it probably had been. Sigh.
"It says 'challenge'," she replied, taking another bite of her lunch. It was nearly gone by then, especially with the large bites the wolverine took, her mouth more than able to handle the capacity. It was another reason she liked eating in her animal or biped form. There was just more room to bite and chew, even if it did look odd sometimes. "Congratulations, by the way, if they're a welcome surprise." She inclined her shoulder to indicate the large belly.

Saethre continued staring, fascinated with the way her fur seemed to change colors without ever having done so. Her own was somewhat boring to her - black and blue was pretty, but the blue was so defined. "Challenge?" She repeated, then twisted her neck at an odd angle until the word finally appeared for her. "Huh. Interesting. Are you challenged or challenging?" The otter inquired, with the slightest hint of teasing in her voice.
Her own sandwich seemed to simply disappear. She'd been eating it all along in small bites, but chewed and swallowed so fast that it was gone at nearly the same rate as the wolverine's, despite her much smaller stature. Sae immediately whipped a second one out of her pack and began working on it, one paw absently resting on her belly. "Thanks!" She replied with a grin. "They're not so much of a surprise but very welcome, to me if no one else." Saethre shrugged, and tried not to think of her brothers, who still thought she was crazy after several months of seeing her pregnant. Was wanting a baby really such a bad thing?

Donnie shot the otter a slightly less amused look at her question, wondering if it was blunt innocense, light teasing, or a veiled insult. From the way she was talking, it probably wasn't the latter. Eh. People in the city were bound to be a bit 'different', especially if they hung around parks and chatted up random strangers. She would be polite. "I prefer to think of myself as challenging," she replied in a drolly amused tone. "You'd have to ask other people whether or not they agree for a full answer, I suppose."
She finished her roll in another two bites, licking a bit of the juice that had dribbled out at the end from one paw. Watching the other woman wolf down her own meal and start so quickly on another, she wondered if the rumors surrounding the voracious appetites of pregnant women were really so true. It hadn't been with her aunts when she'd spent time with them, but the otter seemed to be making up for pair of Yarrows rather nicely. She hoped the girl didn't end up a porker after the kids popped out. She was pretty enough - it would be a shame.
"At least you seem to really want them," she agreed with a small nod, dipping the paw that had been splashed with juice in the nearby fountain and shaking it in the other direction. "That can't be said about a lot of parents. How far along are you?" Idle chatter with a pregnant otter in the park. An odd turn for the afternoon, but at least it wasn't especially taxing. She still ached a bit from the long run from the Villa to the city.

Saethre contemplated Donnie's answer, absently staring at the beautiful cursive decorating the wolverine's fur. She almost wished she could have writing of her own on her fur, but it was almost too revealing of something within - though she had to wonder how someone could be defined so early on, for didn't it appear young? "Okay." She responded simply, but acceptingly, as if she really intended to ask someone in the future. She just might, you never knew.
The otter continued to wolf down her sandwiches, though she was now aware of the strange looks she was getting. Sae was a hearty eater in general, but not anywhere to this extent - only when she got hormonal did she eat excessively, and pregnancy certainly counted as hormonal.
"Oh, I do," The otter replied with a cheerful smile. "I've been wanting them for a long time, so it's more impatience than anything right now." She sat back and placed a loving hand on her belly, happy to feel somebody kicking up against it. "I'm six or seven months along, I'm not really sure. I didn't want the doctor to tell me so it would be a surprise," She said, somewhat sheepishly. It wasn't something most people would do, that's for sure, but Saethre wasn't the type of person that needed a specific date.

The continued staring at her fur was half flattering and half creepy, but Donnie supposed that pregnant women could be allowed their eccentricities. So long as she didn't get weird and touchy-feely or anything like that, it didn't bother her as much as it could. Some of the 'medicines' that Yarrow women took while pregnant, the home remedies that were supposed to decrease the chance of male children, they were just bizarre concoctions. Who would even drink half of that stuff? Pregnant women who wanted children worth keeping, she supposed.
"Interesting surprise to want," she replied with a raised eyebrow. "It wouldn't bother you if they just... popped out at random? What if you were somewhere public?" Then again, with the size of the otter at six or seven months, she probably wouldn't have many more public excursions before the belly became an extreme inconvenience. How many were in there? Certainly more than a couple.
Another question struck her and she raised her head, glancing at Saethre sidelong. "Do your doctors check for gender here, or does it really not bother you what they come out as? I know that most Villa don't care, but that's the first thing a doctor tries to check for in Yarrow." She didn't have a lot of experience with medicine in general; she just knew that some things were possible. Normally she was healthy as a horse and didn't have much use for doctors.

After a few moments the writing began to lose Saethre's interest, and she instead took to scanning the area for any interesting figures, or people she knew. There was an Avington canine with a blackened tree.. poor thing. After a minute she went back to staring at Donnie, mostly because she had yet to figure out what kind of animal she was. Some big.. huge.. dog.. thing? Maybe?
She shrugged. "Even if I started labor in public, there's no way I popped out four-plus children in the amount of time it took to get to a hospital or my home. I'm not travelling far now-a-days anyways, just in case." The otter wasn't sure how many there were, really - after a while the kicks started to blend together. She used to be able to identify specific motions, but there were so many flipper-flaps and hoof ploddings that she'd given up. Hopefully they all only had four legs..
The otter blinked, then pondered the question. "I suppose if you wanted them to," She began, then paused. "It doesn't bother me personally, but I know that some regions request it. The services are available around here, certainly."

The woman seemed to have a decent sense of humor, so Donnie grinned a little and tested the waters. "Pardon my saying, but you look like you'd break a horse right now if you tried to travel, and a coach might pop them out on its own with all the bouncing. Your home's in the city, then?"
She gathered the trash from her meal with one paw, idly rolling it into a ball. "You wouldn't happen to know of any reliable, quality inns nearby, would you? I'm looking to stay here for a night before heading off tomorrow morning via coach and I haven't started searching for a room yet. I just want something with a clean bed, a hot bath, and a decent breakfast. I don't need especially lavish accompaniments." That could wait until she arrived at the Court. Hopefully it would have accommodations fit for the ranks that inhabited it. The thought of going to the palace made her short whiskers twitch in anticipation, as it had been doing for several days now.
