Taking a bite out of one of the scones as he talked she hummed in satisfaction. She was really glad that he had decided for them to eat first instead of heading towards his destination. She had apparently been more hungry then she had thought.
“That sounds like something really cool to do. Is it really in a high demand? Helping to fix wings that is.” She asked before taking a sip of tea. It never really had occurred to her that there were all that many people out and about who had wings, though thinking upon it now she realize that that had been a wrong conclusion. “How long did it take you to learn all of that?” she asked referring towards his skill at repairing wings.
It was always really nice to hear that other people were going to invest in jobs to help other people out.

How long had it taken him? That was probably the worst question she could have ask. Numbers were never his strong suit. It took him forever to balance bills and the like. He had no idea how anyone could ever figure it all out. The raccoon wiggled his fingers in thought as he tried to count the years.
No. No he couldn't figure it out. It was hard enough for him to remember his birthday. Years of research were out of the question. "A really long time I guess. I'm not good with remembering how long it takes to do something. I just do it and yeah. It's all said and done and I don't record amounts of time."
Rocky had always been smart. Everything in his field made perfect sense to him, everything else didn't. Being anything but himself never really made sense to him in the slightest. Rocky sipped his soup as he stared briefly at Elyse. "I bet if you find the proper teacher you could learn everything you need in as little time as possible. My work just took longer because I didn't have a teacher really."

She giggled at his attempt to count the years since, meaning no offense by it. She gave a nod of her head in understanding when he explained his habit of not counting time. “Do you at least remember exactly why you decided such a job?” She was curious about why he had chosen it, if he was willing or able to give an answer, even though he had already mentioned his grafting on one set of wings and his extra legs.
She took in the information he had given her about trainers. The less time it took for her become a healer did sound like a good plan. She would have to look and see if there was anyone she could train under for her own goal. Yes that was something to put on the top of her list. “Thank you for that piece of information. I will check into it.”
She quickly finished off her scones leaving her to sip her tea blissfully.

"I've wanted to fly since I can remember. Helping people wasn't the first thing on my mind. It was something for if I ever reached my goal." Rocky sighed as he picked up his bowl. Screw using a spoon. The raccoon tipped the bowl back and drank the liquid and all of things that it contained. He never really thought that he would make it to his dream come true. It was selfish, but now he could help people with his research.
The raccoon set his bowl down, then he wiped his face with a napkin before speaking again. Way did she so suddenly feel like he was being dragged down. Rocky sighed, but his tone was still up beat, "Well I suppose once you're finished with your tea you can help me find my new office! Thank you so much." He waved the waitress over and paid the bill and tip before Elyse could do anything.

She tilted her head as if she was pondering something, without looking at him she responded. “I do not really think it matters if the therapy goal was the first thing on your mind really. It makes sense that you would want to reach your own personal goal first, especially if it is going to help you and your patients out.”
Bringing her full attention back to the raccoon she gave him a smile. “I hope that you will do your best!” After she had said that she gave him a sheepish smile, a little worried how he would take such advice from someone who was obviously younger than him. She had only meant it as encouragement.
When he called for their check and paid it she gave a small squeak of protest. “You do not have to! Papa gave me my allowance so . . .” she trailed off at his brushing aside her argument. Giving him a nod she quickly finished off her tea.

Rocky grinned, "Oh don't worry about it dear! It's not like your ordered anything super expensive that would eat me out of house or home." He waved a hand dismissively, a smile plastered on his face. Honestly, treating someone to a meal was never a bad thing.
"After all, you are showing me to my office. The least I can do is pay your bill!" He hummed happily as he offered her his hand to help her up from her seat. She was a young woman on her way to being a proper woman. She also could have easily come from a noble family, so Rocky remembered his manners to some degree. He also thought it was cute to be chivalrous like in those crazy children stories. "Perhaps, Miss Elyse, I will hear your name in the future and you will be a successful healer. That would be quite splendid!"

“Thank you so much, then.” She replied as she took his arm and his offer to help her up. She gave a happy giggle when the idea of him acting like a knight or prince in one of her children’s novels came to mind. While it was true that her Papa was a King in the Court actually being treated like a noble of any kind was not something she experienced everyday.
It was definitely a nice thing to meet someone else who was interested in helping people. Papa had been very strict on the idea that they were suppose to help people when, how, and where they could. It was something that, sadly, Hadyn seemed to not have completely taken too.
She gave a firm nod of her head. “I promise you I will do my best to become the best healer that I can be. I also hope to read about you and the wonderful help you have provided to others. It would be splendid!”

"Well then, we can both hope for the best and only expect it, sound like a plan?" The raccoon grinned. He could holy hope to be successful in his plans. How many people with wings suffered injuries that were not treatable by other doctors? There had to be some.
"Now.... which way is my office. I can't even remember what direction you said it was in," Rocky looked around the streets. Some of them were labeled others weren't. Who ever designed this part of town wasn't thinking about strangers with no sense of direction. Corvistowne was easier to navigate than Capital City! Well, he did live there and he didn't leave his part of Corvistowne very often, so he knew exactly where everything was in the general area. Thankfully Elyse was kind enough to help him in Capital City, otherwise he would have been lost for quite sometime. Having no sense of direction usually did that.

“It’s a plan!” she gave a nod of her head to accent the fact they had made a deal.
Once they got back on the main road she took a swift moment to take in the directions. “We need to go that way,” she replied to his question pointing to their left. As they set off she started to skip along down the path, though it was not enough to off set their pace with their being arm in arm.
When they got to a four way intersection she told him to go right. “Is someone suppose to be meeting you there or are you just showing up?” She asked out of curiosity. She did not want to make him late if he had an appointment to keep.
Showing him the rest of the way to their destination she finally pulled them up short in front of a building.
