As he showed her to the library, this time she made mental notes of the directions, turns, and hallway decorations to make sure that she could, hopefully, find it again without help.
Entering the room, or rooms as she later realized, she was sure that her mouth literally fell open and her eyes going wide. It was . . . well the word lovely did not seem to do it justice. All the books! There was bookcase after bookcase filled and some were even over filling. And then he mentioned that there was another smaller library somewhere.
She must have died.
There were many libraries in Esterberry, though she could not really name one that was grander this one.
“Willing? I would simply love working here. I promise I will do my best.” Her fingertips already ached to touch the spines of all the lovely books that were just with in reach.
This was her dream job.

"Congratulations then! You're officially hired." Theofilus said with a cheery smile. He watched a swan biped almost glide over to where he was standing. Before she would offer him a greeting, she raised his hand and pointed to Idril. "This lovely lady, Idril, is going to be one of your new coworkers. I hope you enjoy her company Leda, she seems like your type of girl."
The swan was an Esterberry herself. She looked down at Idril and raised an eyebrow. She had competition now? Fantastic. She also had someone who could take care of the third floor. Doubly fantastic. The swan blushed a bit and gave a cordial smile to Theofilus. "Thank you, Your Majesty, I'll show her to her room and get her acquainted with the library and rest of the staff." She gave a bow to Theofilus as he tipped his hat to leave, taking his proper books and papers upon his exit.
Leda grinned, "My dear. It's a pleasure to have a fellow Esterberry on staff."

She was awakened from her admiration of the library by the fellow Esterberry’s coming towards them. After Theofilus had greeted and informed the female of his decision and was making his exit she called out over her shoulder, “Thank you so much . . . Your – Your Majesty?” The color from her face drained as the words Leda had uttered finally registered in her ears. He was probably too far away to hear her shock as reality came upon her.
Oh, dear. She had just been in the presence of a Queen?
Her shock was quickly forced aside as Leda took her by the arm and started to lead her off to show her all of the things she would need to know. She was to be given a room here in the palace and her task was to take care of the third floor. She was both nervous and exhilarated as she meet the other coworkers she was to work with as well as she got acquainted with the layout of the library.
She would have to go get all of her things tonight, not forgetting the book for His Majesty. She began her new life in the morning. She could not wait.
