The King's reaction was strange; from wot Aderlass had told him, she should revel in anyone's pain. Then why--? Too late was he made aware of exactly why she was covering her eyes. The stallion saw the blue smoke, and quickly mimicked the woman's movements, though his eyes had already begun to water and sting; he gave a harsh, deep cough before forcing his body to remain still as he held his breath belatedly and hopefully let some of the smoke pass by. Still he was coughing as his throat and lungs violently disagreed with wotever had been in that capsule. His ears had flattened instinctively, and when the voices began again he carefully peeked open an eye before letting his protesting body try and release the rest of the smoke.
After a few more moments of hacking, though, he seemed to be recovering slowly. He was just glad to reopen his eyes to sling a glance towards the King. He was ready to stop her if needed, though she seemed well willing to play be the rules of being observers for now.
He glanced back when he realized someone was watching with them. Ah, it was Pascha; the stallion turned his back on the owl and ignored him for now. Surely Aderlass would have spoken to him if needed and Rai could keep him out of the fight if needed. He turned his attention back to the fight as the bull screamed and began to attack again in earnest. His ears flattened in concern, but he forced his breath to remain calm and even now. They were probably coming to the end of the battle and Rai needed to be more alert than ever.

Though he had been ready for the Queen to protest to his teasing he was not completely ready for what the bull threw at him next.
Trying to doge back to miss as much of the attack as possible he threw his shield causing the attack to only cause him to take half the force of the original assault.
Hissing at the pain caused on his back, he forced himself to breath through his teeth pushing the pain away from his mind, reminding himself that the attack could have been much worse. Squinting through the pain he watched as the bull made a retreat backwards.
That B@$!@%& was going to pay for that.
“I am more than willing to take the throne from your hands. Especially if it means I get to kill you.” He retorted with a snarl.
He sent the bull a very lovely, albeit blinding headache, before he slammed his cane on the ground. Why not add a little more fire to the situation?

Anoushka's attention was once more riveted on the combatants now that things were heating up, with Veldmair's hand apparently injured and the acid spray just beginning. She couldn't help but catch the equine's sharp glance her way, however, and wondered at it. Her eyes narrowed suddenly.
"If you think that you vill somehow get around the injunction against assisting, you are very wrong. At the first sign of foul play, I vill call off this whole thing and your mouse vill be turned out on his ear." Her gaze was flat, gold eyes burning into his. "I have been vitness to nearly a dozen battles for Qveenship of this Court, including Veldmair's nearly tvelve years ago, and I have yet to allow ill play to taint a single von of them."
The owl went completely unnoticed, especially as a column of fire suddenly appeared on the field and her eyes snapped back, startled, watching the scene unfold.

The stallion simply grinned widely at the feline, revealing nothing to her stern, golden eyes. As long as she was nervous of him, she'd be less likely to step into the fight herself and that's all he really wanted. When her gaze jerked back to the fight, however, his was swift to follow. The humour drained from his features now, leaving a dark, unreadable expression.
He'd really expected this to come, but he hadn't seen this ability in quite awhile because it was a difficult one to use. Shinrai had come upon his friend after he had worked on fine-tuning his control of it, and the sight had not been a pretty one. Completely worn and wiped out, the stallion could not forget just how the mouse had looked and concern now tightened his chest as he watched. Still, one green ear remained cocked towards the King of Clubs, unwilling to let her go without surveillance.

Veldmair couldn't help but spit in anger as he watched an odd shield partially materialize, protecting the Mouse's face and chest. Damnable rodent! He would make sure to aim for the chest purposefully with his next attack!
He was about to retort to the Mouses' next words when a column of fire, like nothing he had ever seen erupted from the ground.
"What in all hell is that!?!"
The Bull yelped, leaping even farther backward, barely keeping to his hooves as he stared at the monstrous flame. How had Aderlass done that?
He was then struck reeling backwards as an incredible unexpected pain burst through his skull. Stars seemed to explode in the Corvistowneians' field of vision and he let out a bellow of anger as he rubbed desperately at his temples, ears swiveling at the sound of the fiery column, waiting to hear what the mouse would next say. He would destroy the pest for this!

Taking advantage of the bull being distracted by the column of fire as well as the lovely headache he had sent him, he took a daring chance and started to dart quickly towards the bull, his body still hot enough to cause pain as he would get near the larger form. The tunnel of flame followed behind, and he could only hope it would reach the bull in order to cause extra damage as well.
He only had about fifteen minutes over all to make all of this worth it, after that he was going to be too drained and weakened from summoning the fire to be able to fight back as easily. He had to make every minute count.
Without hesitation, he did not have time for it, he took a chance, which he sincerely hoped would not get him killed, he threw himself at the bull determined to latch onto wherever he landed.

Veldmair tried to scramble backward in a panic, but he had stared in shock at the column of fire for too long. He howled in agony as the Mouse latched onto his left leg and clung like a leech.
A burning, leg-melting leech.
Desperate to get the little monster off of him, he took his eyes off of the creeping column of fire and slammed his already ruined left hand onto the top of the Mouse's head with all the force he could muster, then opened the palm of his right hand and shot another spray of acid at the mouse...
And consequently, his own limb.
The acid would splash over the Mouse's back again, this time hitting the left horn securely and dripping over the entirety of his left ear, his tail would certainly look worse for wear...but Veldmair could barely even see it.
He watched in horror as the Mouse's heat combined with his own acid melted straight through his limb. Numb with shock, he didn't look up at the creeping column again until it was too late.
With a howl of desperate despair, the column swallowed the combatants whole.

Throwing himself at the bull who was still distracted by the column of flames, he landed on the bull’s left leg and proceeded to latch onto it, holding on with all his might. When he heard the bull’s howl of agony from the pain he gave a cold grin as he knew his goal was half accomplished.
His grin of success was short lived, however, when the bull put his hand out to push him off, and then another spray of acid fell on him – this time the force was not blocked. Screaming he withered, trying unsuccessfully to get away from the pain. He was able to maintain some semblance of his grip, even if it had lessened, as the acid lanced down his back again, falling on his tail this time, and as it also took its’ toll on his left ear.
His stomach revolting violently from the smell of burning flesh, he was barely aware of when the column of fire joined them.

When the column of flame finally abated, there would be no doubt who was the victor. The Mouse would remain, the fire having left him unscathed by its intensity.
Only a few charred bones remained of Queen Veldmair, his power only evidenced in the wounds left on the rodents' flesh.
The flame would dissipate just as the last bits of choking smog rose away into the air, leaving the courtyards ravaged, burned, and in some places...slightly melted. The Queen had fallen, a new one rose in his place.
((Jenn, I'll leave the rest to Anoushka and Aderlass <3 Veldmair: out <3))
