As the flames extinguished he felt a sudden wave of exhaustion hit him. Even though it had been expected he still found himself shocked at the change. Slowly he pushed himself onto his hands and knees, breathing deeply through his nose. The smell of charred fur and skin still encompassed the area and he had to fight a gagging reflex. After a few moments, which seemed longer than they probably were, he slowly pushed himself to his feet. Swaying he took another moment before he turned to face the King. Pulling himself up to his full height, he winced as he pulled on the injured skin. Bracing most of his weight on his cane he gave a smile which anyone observing him could tell it was not in complete pleasure. “Well . . . that was not . . . so bad.” He said between gasps, though it was obvious that the words were not telling the truth in what had happened or what he had thought of the events. ((Thankies <3 ))

Anoushka watched the rest of the fight, the amused expression on her face slowly changing to one of intensity as the two of them began pulling out all of the stops. Veldmair's acid was his most dangerous ability, in part because of its damage even after it had splashed, and its slow corrosion of skin and muscle. If left unchecked, the injuries could spread to consume a person. That took a long time, but it was a chilling prospect.
Similarly, she had not known of the mouse's pyrotechnics and could not help but narrow her eyes in thought as he called forth the giant column of fire. That was power there, to call forth the blazing element of the Hearts in a battle between Clubs nobility, and quite unexpected. There were not many Clubs who mastered magic outside of their natural element, earth. Aderlass, it seemed, was one of the few. When she began to grasp just how hot the flames were, and see that they were lasting more than a moment, she knew what the outcome would be. Veldmair had underestimated his foe hugely.
In the end, the mouse stood alone, dragging himself to his feet with what seemed like all of the strength in him. His usual front wasn't quite as effective in exhaustion and injury but she said nothing to mock it, instead nodding her head and stepping forward. "It vould seem that your promotion has been successful," she agreed, eying the damage. Earth-workers could fix the courtyard later. They were, after all, the Court best suited to such damage. Injuries on the mouse himself, however, would need more immediate and pressing attention. "If you vill permit me, my Qveen, I vould like to take you to your new rooms and fetch the doctor."
She was a practical person, among many other things. If she hadn't been, she wouldn't have lasted through nearly a dozen changes in power. She had been rather fond of Veldmair, his personality complimenting hers nicely, but she would work with whoever held the key to the throne. Now... it was Aderlass. She bowed respectfully and hoped that he would not be stupid in his pride. The man needed a doctor sooner rather than later.

“Yes . . . a doctor . . . would be very nice.” He replied nodding his head and wincing once again at the pain caused by the action. He could not manage the strength to make his way back over to sideline and instead sent his friend a requesting look. Hopefully Whip would catch it and understand he needed help.
“And Anoushka . . . I want a garden.” He dropped her title out of lack of strength rather then for then lack of respect. He was sure Whip would understand to what he truly referred to with his comment, since it was more a running joke between friends from a previous discussion, rather then a true want.
It all seemed so surreal and if it was not for the burn marks, the melted ground, and the charred remains of the last Queen he would have thought it was all a dream.

The owl sitting on the sidelines glanced up at Whip when Whip glanced down at him, but otherwise made no motion, no sound, or anything else for that matter. As the fire-and-acid war began he watched a bit more intently, though didn't seem to be worried.. but could one really tell emotions from a hunched over figure?
After it was all over, Veldmair gone and Aderlass in pain because of the acid, the owl managed to get to his feet, after a few attempts. Despite having escaped the grasp of his uncle he was still quite weak, along with experiencing essentially extreme withdrawl; it made simple things such as walking very difficult at times. Pascha didn't try to go to Aderlass, as he had a feeling he would merely trip and end up lying on the scorched ground in a resigned position, but instead merely nodded to Aderlass, Shinrai and Anoushka in turn, and began his somewhat laborous trek back to his room in the Courts.. which was sadly on the other end, still.
Despite being exhausted, the owl was quite glad he had came; it would appear that working on his Jackship after he was stable would be in order.
