It was a rather bright, cheery day, the temperature cool but not annoyingly so, especially in the sunlight. And everything looked rather lovely in the sun, the green grass, the dancing leaves of the trees, the occasional butterfly, dragonfly or bird, and yes, even that oddly colored rocks that was painted blue, white and brown. However, what appeared to be a rock was really the young hybrid, dozing pleasantly in the sunshine. Somehow he'd managed to find a delightful spot that was completely free of ill intentioned vagabonds, and the grass was far softer then the cold, unforgiving cement of the city. He began to stir, first shuffling his wings, then rolling onto his belly and stretching with a yawn. The feathers on the end of his tail fanned as he did before he settled into a sit, completely unaware of any other presences, one of which he had turned his back to unknowingly.

Today is the day I do it. Today is the day I finish my book to the end. Dilis had every intention of sitting down at her favorite spot, at her favorite tree in Capital City. She had planned on reading all day without stopping for anything but as she drew closer she noticed someone was already there snoozing. She thought it was a rock at first but realized that it was indeed a someone rather than a something. " Oh dear... this is the only spot with good shade..." She was about to go find another spot when she noticed it had stirred. " Er-um. Hello... I hope I haven't woken you. I was just coming to sit but I don't mind finding somewhere else to read my book. If I have disturbed you in any way, I am terribly sorry." Dilis frowned, it was never her intention to bother anyone but most times that was how it happened.

He wasn't aware of anyone near him, he was just simply enjoying the peace, peace that he found very rarely. However, he heard a voice and he peered over his shoulder, she doesn't seem... ill intentioned. But he'd been wrong before, in the past. But she, apologized to him? That was certainly unusual, the only other one to apologize was Xylia, perhaps this one was like his friend?
At this thought he brightened up considerably, snowy ears perked with interest, and then he flushed red under his fur. Oh my, he'd stolen her spot hadn't he?
No no, I'm sorry... I didn't know this was your spot. I could... go elsewhere, yes?
He didn't really want to leave, but he would if she wanted. He enjoyed meeting kind people, and he still wasn't sure if she was one of them or not.

Oh dear, she'd fuddled again. He'd heard her and now was trying to move, she didn't really want him too... she was just surprised. Normally, no one noticed this spot and so she had free reign of it whenever she wanted. But having another person around may be pleasant... it helped that he was terribly cute too.
"Oh no, please. Stay. I was just surprised is all. I usually come here to read and watch the people go by but it might be ncie to have company if you wouldn't mind?" Did he just turn red? Aw, that is terribly darling. He reminded her so much of her friend Seki, she missed him.. she'd have to visit with him again.
"I didn't mean to come off as rude. My name is Dilis, what's yours?" She bowed a bit in respect of this new person.

When she asked him to say, he noticeably brightened. He wasn't exactly the hardest to please and he really enjoyed the company of strangers, strangers that weren't trying to hurt him that is. He shook his head lightly and gave her a somewhat shy smile.
No, no... I'd like to stay, I enjoy... company.
He didn't have the biggest vocabulary, but he tried. And, if her had been part feline, he probably would have purred.
The feline before him was somewhat odd, but at the same time she was pleasant as well, and her colors were all bright and cheery to. He only possessed a limited knowledge of the regions, and couldn't even begin to place her, but that wasn't really a pressing issue at the moment.
I'm Tavor, and I really didn't mean to steal your spot... the sun was so warm, and the grass looked so soft....
He shifted him wings and blushed softly again, he was rambling... and he knew it. He was just a little out of his element though... and it showed more then he'd like.

Aw, he's shy! Dilis found him to be terribly cute and was glad he wanted to stay. "Well, I am glad. Other than reading my book, I really hadn't anything else to do and I should like making a new friend" Dilis smiled. She looked him over and the first thing she figured was that he needed a friend. He looked so sad, like the worlds' problems were on his shoulders.
"Do not worry a bit Tavor. It is a rather nice spot, I like to come here every day. It was only a matter of time before someone realized it as well." He rather was an odd sort of character, Dilis felt terribly that his tail had started to come apart. A leper? Father has mentioned those before... Oh boy, if he knew I was talking to him he would have a fit and probably ground me forever.

For the most part the world's troubles were, indeed, on his shoulders. He was small, and half lowlander and a Club to boot... so walking down the streets were quite the dangerous times for him. He couldn't even begin to count how many times he'd merely been kicked, purposefully and for no reason at all... and only to hear the satisfied laughter of another passing card when he squealed in pain. And alleyways weren't safe for him anymore either... not after that pack of freaks found him. He had Xylia though, but he didn't wish to be a bother and cling to her side at all times, which is why he was here now.
Tavor grinned again, this time a bit more sure of himself. She hadn't kicked him, or thrown anything, or used any harsh words... she was being nice and had no hidden undertones of anything else, and Tavor officially trusted her. Perhaps it was childish naivety clinging to his personality, or perhaps it was foolishness, but it wasn't hard to get the boy to trust, well, anyone. Even after everything that'd happened to him.
At least I know I have good... ah... taste?
He wrinkled his nose in slight confusion, he wasn't entirely sure if that was the right phrase or not, and it sounded funny. And if he'd gotten it wrong somehow, well, that'd be terribly embarrassing.
I didn't just say I tasted good, did I?

Perhaps he would not make the cutest doll she had made but he would make a rather good one regardless. Dilis was glad he was a club, it made communicating with him in the future that much easier. She had gotten a new ability and she couldn't wait to try it. Also, she could relate to him better; others had hated her for being a club which she didn't understand. She never felt a suit was better than another but that could have been because she was born the lowest one.
Dilis giggled at his words; he was terribly cute and seemed to be rather unsure of himself. "No dear, you said it correctly" She smiled.
She wondered if people picked on him too just for the suit he was born with. She was glad she was a ten now though, at least she could be treated somewhat like everyone else. The high rank only made up for so much when one was a club however... She wondered if it would be different once she tried to enter the Court of Clubs. Oh I hope so...

Tavor had been born an Eight, which he still was, and it really wasn't to shabby or a rank to be given at birth... but it didn't seem to matter out there. He'd found himself getting picked on by those lower in number, but 'higher' in suit. Then again, he had no real clues as to how the politics of the world worked and the black marks on his chest were just that, black marks. Had he been educated about them, he might understand a bit more on why he seemed to be the target of everyone's bad day, but for now it didn't make any sense to him at all.
But at least he'd said the phrase right! He fluffed himself up a bit, looking rather proud at the small victory he'd just gotten. He was slowly but surely getting better at these things. He gave her a winning smile and, had he been part cat, he would have purred.
Oh, good! Cause I don't think I'd taste good. But, who tastes themselves, really? Or, others for that matter? That doesn't sound good at all!
And on his last sentence he scrunched up his face a bit emphasize his point, he knew nothing of cannibals and their practices, but he'd still find it rather disgusting if he did.

Dilis giggled at Tavor fluffing himself; he seemed so happy and Dilis had already thought he was cute. "Indeed, well I can't imagine I would want to associate with the type who eats people" She laughed, pleased with herself and Tavor. He was lucky, he could be silly and say whatever he wanted and no one chastised him. She did not often speak freely, Father would not allow it. She had never even used contractions but once, Father got terribly upset with her about it as well.
"Tavor dear, would you perhaps want to have lunch with me? I have not eaten yet and it is getting later in the day..." She asked blushing. She had never done such a thing and she had hoped he would not turn her down as her pride was a rather large thing to her. "You really do not have to, I just enjoy your company and hate eating alone."
