Tomorrow night I'm hopping on a train for Seattle. :3 It's a long trip and I don't imagine I'll have any net at all for the duration of it. 24 hours, to be exact. I arrive in Seattle at 8pm on Wednesday, where my boyfriend will be picking me up and heading to his place.

I'm gonna be there until the 17th, so I'll probably be pretty quiet between now and then. My top priority will be the brawl and Finistris plot, so please don't hate me if I'm slow on everything else. ;

STORY TIME

So I climbed on the train Tuesday night. It was an amazing ride. I didn't sleep much because I was much more interested in looking out the window as we roared through town after town. I guess I did sleep a little, but it was like a series of small naps so I was pretty tired. The second day went just fine as well. More beautiful scenery, more sorta-naps.

Then we recieved word of massive flooding across Oregon and Washington. Oh boy. But it's okay, we're making good time.

Then they tell us the train will be unable to go any farther than Portland.

....

But it's still okay. They have arranged for busses to pick us up at the station in Portland to bring us to our final destination. <3 Yzay. We get on the busses, and head out once more. I was on the bus for about an hour and a half, just playing on my DS, when the driver makes an announcement.

I5 has been closed north of Centralia, a little town in the southern part of Washington. The flooding that made travel via train impossible has increased to the point that it's now taken out the highway. I can feel my blood pressure rising at this point and I almost start to panic. I really don't want to be stuck in Portland. I make a series of very quick calls, and $150 later I have a ticket on the last flight from Portland to Seattle as well as a ride to get me to the airport.

Long story short, I made it safe and sound and in once piece, which I'm very happy for. <3 O'course, now we're eyeing the river behind the boyfriend's place with no small amount of suspicion. >> It's been growing threateningly for the last little bit, but it seems to be going down for now.

(for your curiousity: Yes, Amtrak would have continued to take good care of me had I not been able to get a flight. They offered to pay for a hotel room for the night and then take me up the next day, and if the flooding hadn't gone down by then they would have paid for every night I was stuck. I really do love them, and I realize none of it was their fault.)

and here I thought the other day, "Ya know what would be fun? Going to Portland" XDDD I watch the travel channel a lot and this show i like showed all these neat restaurants and stuff in the northwest. HAHA NORTHWEST I KNOW YOUR SECRETZ. I managed to steal them all away from Bee Still love you Bee!
