He kept that neutral look on his face, well, except for the smirk that was slowly growing on his muzzle. He curled his tail around his form, momentarily hiding his claws from view with the sparsely furred appendage, the tip flicking up and down to it's own little rhythm. Emerald pools never left the coyote's form, but he was still unable to pick up on what region he was from because, really, what kind of mix could have that much fur? It baffled him, and that bothered him, but it seemed the canine had a bigger chip on his shoulder then just that.
Honestly Morpheus hadn't cared when his eyes glanced over a black mark, all that really mattered was the boy had interesting tricks and he had a respectable letter on his chest. A club? He hadn't exactly noticed that, Clubs and Spades were the same to him really, except for father... father was just.... better in every way, shape and form and no one, not even the mightiest of Hearts, would change his opinion. However, he decided to have a bit of fun with this, it was far to tempting to pass up.
When he asked that question the weasel-rat's eyebrows lifted and he raised a paw up to cover his mouth as he gave a perfectly performed mock gasp with some bristled fur thrown in for effect. He had effectively gone from neutral to shocked in no time flat but really, he couldn't keep up the act long, nor did he want to perturb the dog more then he intended, and the paw ended up covering his mouth as he giggled. His mother hated that he did that with a passion, but it was fun and he was certain it'd smooth things over more then a chuckle. His amusement translated quite heavily into his voice.
Honestly I don't give a damn, I live with a bunch of Spades.... all the suits are exactly the same to me. They're all below me and all their precious face cards are just.... toys...
He reached out that lifted paw and poked at the boy with an ivory claw, grinning like a fool.
And what if I like the consequences? Suits, you've got a lot to learn.

His ears went back in slight offense. Now the other boy was mocking him, and he really didn't know how to react. He couldn't be serious... but why did he have to make Hadrian feel stupid about it? He scoffed.
"Yeah, let's see you be a Club living in the Heart's Court." Please. Did this boy really think a Diamond living among Spades could compare? However, if all the Suits were the same to him, Morpheus was just fine in Hadrian's mind! He gave another toothy grin at the boy.
"Alright, then," he said, "you can get in trouble while I make a get away." Something in the back of Hadrian's mind told him that if this boy didn't fear consequence like he did... he did not have someone like Heilyn for a parental figure.
"What did you have in mind? Or shall we just wing it?"

You can't just run away from Spades.
He grinned a bit more, implying something along two lines, one that he was in trouble on quite the regular basis and two, he pissed some of the spades off enough to actually chase him. He'd learned from the latter that the easiest way to get away from them was to fly, if he had time, they may be fast but they most certainly couldn't leap up and snag him from somewhere near the ceiling! Or at the very least, he hadn't run into one yet.
At the boy's announcement that he could be the only one to get in trouble the weasel-rat adopted a bit of a pout, peering at the canine with his best puppy dog eyes, a look he was certain Hadrian was far better at, and kicked in a little Diamond charm. Getting in trouble was the best part, you found out just how much you got under someone's skin and slipping out from under the wrath of an angry card unscathed was terribly rewarding, he was certain he could teach the canine a few things about it... even if Hadrian didn't have Diamond charm.
What if I said I could teach you a few ways to get out of trouble, even when you're caught?
He leaned forward a bit, tail twitching with delight.
It's not as fun to plan it as it is to just go on a whim.
That was what Dysthymia's problem was, he always had to plan out their mischief and Morpheus just went along with it. Yes, some of the ferret's schemes were delightful, but they lacked the flare and pinch of adrenaline spur of the moment mischief gave you. But Mia wasn't here, he needn't think of him and he'd focus his attention entirely on this one, this Hadrian.

Hadrian nodded, the meaning implied generally understood, but not fully realized by the slightly obtuse boy.
"That's true. Dad's a Spade and he catches me pretty fast. Y'gotta trick him and hide. He's mean though. Sometimes he'll sneak up on me from the ceiling, just when I think I've lost him."
He cocked his head at Morpheus' pouting. He... wait, what? Hadrian was entirely unsure how to react to that. However, at the next statement he perked up.
"Can you really?!" His tail began wagging. Oh yes, this subject interested him greatly. The boy had a winning pout, but he never did it on purpose, the emotion being very genuine, and it most certainly did not win over everyone. His Mother especially. While he appreciated her protection of him from the other members of the Court far more than he could ever express with words, she was a huge road block in his fun.
"Alright then, which way do we look first to start some fun?"

If you've got the capacity to learn it...
His voice was somewhat distant, almost as if he were merely musing out loud rather then speaking to the canine. emerald pools followed suit for the briefest of moments as his mind wandered off with his thoughts, leaving his tail to twitch all the while only to stop as he seemed to regain his senses fully. Pointed ears twitched forward to catch his words and then rolled to the sides as a rather mischievous grin spread over his muzzle.
Hum...
He hopped up off his haunches and made his way casually to the end of the alley before rocking back again, but not quite sitting this time. He rose up on his haunches, stretching his long, lean body and neck in the process as his ears twitched and scanned the crowded street before him. He moved his head slowly from one side to the other, listening more then watching before he snapped his head in the opposite direction of where the offended foul had gone. He'd planned on using that direction all along and this display was strictly for theatrics. And, well, it kept him well above the canine without he himself being imposing.
That way, the victims will be less suspecting after your little trick.
He wrapped this last sentence in his Diamond charm and a smile to match. He wanted to simply lord over the canine however, the most effective way to do so was to make your subjects like you first .... even if it was through false means.

Hadrian plodded along side the Lowlander, listening intently. He nodded. Of course he had the capacity to lea-- He tripped over his own feet, though was able to recover before scraping his chin on the ground. He felt a little embarrassed, but kept walking, hoping it didn't make him look incompetent or stupid. His oversized puppy feet were meant for treading snow and ice. The consistently flat ground tangled with an instinctual expectation for a more rugged terrain. It made him a touch careless, to constantly override it. Seriously, I'm 8, he thought, I should know how to walk by now... taking a simple mistake too hard on himself.
Hadrian, not being the brightest of children, was rather taken in by the theatrics, and the Diamond charm certainly helped things along. Wooooww he looked sooo... just... wooww. This guys knows what he's doing! Then a thought crossed his mind.
"...but when ever I cause any trouble back at the court, everyone knows it's me, and I always go on a whim," he said, not really realizing that there was no one else who would cause the damage the young Solandrian did. He paused, looking at the other boy's coat. Something finally clicked.
"Are you a Lowlander? How come you're not rotting?" The very vocal opinions of his father regarding the Lowlanders began flooding his mind. It made Hadrian suddenly a little nervous to be around the older boy.

His sparsely furred tail twitched a bit before he dropped back down onto all fours and all but slithered back over to the canine's side, a smirk lingering on his features. The boy looked like the type that, once caught, ended up submitting to it all. But .... he was also completely adorable as well. Morpheus could definitely work with this type... or at least he'd try. The way the little coyote talked made it seem as if he was in trouble on quite the frequent basis and for some odd reason, well... he wanted to change that, and that wasn't entirely a selfless emotion either.
I am indeed, but mother tells me all the time we're from the only fine bloodline the Lowlands has to offer. Now ...
His grin intensified a bit as he moved to sit on his haunches directly in front of the younger boy and he proceeded to cock his head to the side as he looked him over a bit more from up close. He sat up, curling his tail back into an s shape. He paused for a moment to make an inquiry, really he didn't want to chance being bitten, and made sure his voice was as soft and sweet as he could possibly make it without sounding like a fake. He didn't practice things like that in the mirror at all... no way.
May I... touch?
He paused for a moment, long enough to get the go ahead and then he reached a paw out and delicately cupped the canine's chin in it all the while being extremely careful that his claws didn't knick the boy. He studied his features for a moment, tilting his head ever so slightly from one side to another to get a better look before his face brightened considerably. Oh yes, he could certainly work with this!
He released his chin and, if he stayed still, he'd trace a claw up the canine's muzzle before running it, and the rest, over his forehead and then gently through the front of his mohawk.
You're rather cute ... let me teach you a thing or two before we go nab ourselves an unsuspecting victim.

The only fine bloodline...? Whoa, maybe Dad should meet these guys. He tried to see if there was some rot in a subtler place, but he couldn't see anything and he certainly didn't smell like other Lowlanders. He blinked at the sudden question, Dad's very vocal prejudice flashing through his mind. But this one was so obviously different... he nodded, blue mohawk waving.
"Yeah, sure," his tail wagged lightly as Mo examined him. He had to admit, he loved the attention. He was curious, though, as to what he was looking at. He tilted his head in a very puppy-like manner while looking at Mo. Most people who wanted to touch him were curious about his fur, having never seen a Solandrian before.
Claws trailed up his nose and into the blue ridge on his head. This was more what he was used to. Maybe Mo would scratch him behind the ear! Hadrian took a step in and dipped his head down to imply his wishes. His tail wagged a little harder.
"Okay!" he said, trying to look up at Mo and keep his head low at the same time. Not very successful, but the little ball of fluff looked rather cute attempting it.

Well, if the boy wanted behind his ear scratched who was he to deny the boy such a comfort? A slight, but genuine smile touched his muzzle, the younger boy was terribly endearing and had let the fact that he was a Lowlander simply roll off his shoulders with no further questions asked. He moved that clawed paw over and started to scratch behind the coyote's ear, tail tip twitching all the while. He was starting to actually like the boy instead of just seeing him as an amusing little toy. Damn.
He stopped, ruffling the boys blue crest playfully before dipping his head down to the point where they were almost nose to nose, grinning all the while and speaking softly.
Alright, show me what you usually do when you get into trouble.
Before he proceeded any further he needed to see what he was working with and with a face like that, well, he just might be able to get around the fact that to boy couldn't ooze with charm on a whim. He pulled his head back and cocked it to the side as he waited patiently, curiosity making it's self visible on his features.
