Rules of Play
(1) Be polite. Cursing is permitted but you should consider the impact of your words and keep things to a minimum. It's usually better to express yourself in words that have more than four letters. Your character may be a raging bitch or a racist pig, but such behavior won't be tolerated out-of-character. Keep the peace, respect your fellows, and keep any personal conflicts off of the boards. This is our #1 rule for a reason.
(2) Learn a bit about the world before jumping in. This forum is chock-full of pertinent information and we'd like you to read it before playing. It'll make the whole experience a lot smoother, knowing what everybody else knows. If you have any questions, please PM an admin or post it in the FAQ forum. We're happy to help!
(3) Roleplay is very important to character development, but it isn't required that you RP every day or anything for you to keep your characters. So long as your dealer records board is up-to-date and complete, they're yours to do with as you will. Just keep in mind that they won't change or advance without some form of play, and after two months of inactivity, we will begin to poke you. Please see rule 11.
(4) You receive one completely random character when you are accepted to the game. This character will be rolled from a set of random characteristics. Its rank, suit, gender, breed, realm...everything, pretty much, will be decided randomly. Once Nathalia is finished drawing it, she'll put up a post in the Pickup forum and you're free to start playing. Don't forget to make a records post for them once you have your own board in the Dealer Records!
(5) Follow basic roleplaying etiquette. Don't godmod, or state the actions of another person's character for them, and use at least somewhat decent English when posting in RPs. We don't expect spelling bee champions with years of experience with the fine points of grammar, but we do expect something that won't make our eyes bleed when we try to read it.
(Basically, try to avoid chatspeak. Don't use numbers instead of words [4ever!] and don't smoosh words down to just letters . Try to avoid this while in character, I'd rather that it was avoided in the General chat as well, but if you want to let loose there, it's your choice. When in character though, attempt to be serious-ish for their sake.)
(6) Please don't hesitate to contact us with ideas. This is your game as much as ours; we need your input and ideas to keep it going. If your idea won't work at the moment, chances are it will work at some point later on, or we can incorporate it somehow. This does not mean that you need our permission to do anything and everything. This only applies to plotlines that will involve the entire society or a significant portion of it. Remember as well that if you are involved in something plot significant (be it admin plot or no) especially if it is involved in the Courts, please try to be prompt with your posting.
I can't put the site on hold for one person/set of people and if your group has your heart set on something. If it isn't completed within a timely manner, I will have to take whoever is next and coming for the spot in the Courts.
If you issue a challenge in a Court make sure that you will be around to complete it, if you are unable to within a limit of two weeks (If I am the one holding you up this doesn't count), then I will nullify the challenge and others may take your spot.
Remember that Court spots are meant to be fought over and that if you can't fit yourself in, you can always power up and attack again later.
(7) Don't steal any character artwork or claim other peoples' characters as your own. All character artwork belongs to Nathalia and shouldn't be copied or re-used. This should be a given, but it still needs to be said plainly.
(8) Only the characters drawn by Nathalia may be used in play. If you draw up your own character, they will not be accepted on the board in RP or any other beneficial activities, though feel free to show off a dream character in the general archive as fanart. You get unassigned points for stuff like that.
(9) There is a 150 word minimum requirement for posting in the RP forums. Do not start pulling the "one sentence responses for a point" thing. It makes the person you are playing with peevish and bored. We won't go through and count every single post for the number of words, but if you start consistently posting replies that look like they're falling short, we'll probably give you a poke and ask you to post more substantial replies.
(10) Birthday presents are given out randomly on your birthday if you put your name up under "Birthday list" in the records area. However you will not receive a birthday present on your birthday if you have yet to play on the site. If you only just joined the day before and start playing soon after, you will receive a belated birthday gift <3
(11) If you have not touched your starting creature in two months after receiving them and have not posted any reasons as to why this is, your account will be deleted and your creatures reissued to other members. At the two month point of complete inactivity with no excuse, even if you have records, you will be issued a warning PM and be given a posted warning. One week after that, the boot shall ensue.
