He didn't see her sorrow, he saw some strange determination. His hide, strangely, twitched when she wiped the long, curved blade clean against his flank. He couldn't feel the severed nerve endings, though his body tried to tell him to stand up, to run, to fight, but a glaze was coating his mind even as he couldn't get his hindquarters to move.
Was it supposed to hurt so much to die? It was something of an idle thought, one of his lasts. He saw the blade moving, saw the flat, ugly stare and then the pain splurted through his mind again as the blood sprayed from his throat and then. . . there was nothing.
The purple body was an ugly sight lying there in the middle of the marble floors, though it was unlikely this was the worst thing these halls had ever seen. Pale lavender eyes stared off at nothing as the crimson continued to spread in a widening pool.

((OOC: Whoo, one-shot! *leaves, with LOVE*)) Lior had been out in the gardens, trying to find some semblance of mental peace. He'd always been able to hide amongst the roses when he was younger and be alone for a little while before his sister found him. Now she wasn't around to search, and so he was left to wander, trying to piece together thoughts that he really didn't want to face. A lot of his life was like that - running, from others, from his own mind, it didn't matter. When faced with conflict, he ran. Like a coward. Which... he was. In a split second, the sense of death wakened his cloak and his head snapped up, eyes going blank and aura chilling to the point of imminent death. It was lucky that no one stood near to him. Slowly, he began to move in the direction of a hallway not far from the side of the gardens, eventually speeding up until he was in a smooth, quick gait. When the body came into sight, alone and untended and bleeding profusely, he slowed and padded the last few steps towards it. His paws made red markings as they stepped through the blood smeared on the marble. He leaned his head close and stared down at the garish body, his eyes hazing into something close to sanity after a moment. Truly, he sometimes couldn't tell when the trance-like state ended and awareness began anymore. It would freak him out if he hadn't become so horribly used to it. He stood, staring at the corpse for a moment. A horse? Was this one of the current Queen's sons? There hadn't been any bodies in the Court for a while. He hadn't had to play 'angel of death' in a few months, only when he visited the cesspool that he now considered the Capital. However ritzy some of the areas were, death rang from the homes and alleys like a knell, its presence everywhere. He took a few breaths, closed his eyes, and let his ability take over. He couldn't just leave a body here, especially not someone who was probably related to the Queen. Besides... the rush of pleasure was incomparable. He craved it. ...several moments later, he came back to himself in a hazy flash of awareness and stared down at the now-living body, panting a little bit. As soon as he saw it twitch, he pushed himself up into a kneeling position and plunged two fingers of one hand into the socket of Eir's left eye, digging around in the bloody mess until he found what he sought. Slowly, he extracted the soul strand and jerked to his feet, staring in a daze at the pretty thing. He didn't even look at the man whose face he had just mutilated. Really, it wasn't his concern anymore. He'd brought him back. That was enough, wasn't it? Yes... Slowly, Lior tottered off, his hands and feet covered in blood. He was going to need a bath.

He woke up to the way he died: pain. It was different, however, and not nearly as horrible as being freaking cut in half. That said, his left eye was not only not working, it was hurting like a b*&@$ and he felt something dribbling all over his face. What the bloody, friggin' h&$$?!
And, more importantly, why wasn't he dead, why did he feel better-- except for the eye thing-- than he had in years, and where was the bloody, bats&*@ b*&@$ who had killed him?
Not that he was going to go find her now. H&$$, no. He was going to make a strategic retreat, power-up, then come back and eat the b*&@$'s brains out and leave her body to rot in the gardens just to prove what happened when you f*&^%ed around with Eir. Bloody, frakkin', useless c&*$. With a snarl to himself, Eir trotted off. . . and only ran into walls a few times since he was now blind on the left side.
